@@nazzee23 I'd say they did have egos, but were quite afraid to lash out at Fergie out of respect. He's not the type to buy mercenaries either, his investments has been into young emerging talent, or players under the radar, as long as they're not world class at the time, each would be in his debt for giving them the opportunity for fame and exposure on the big platform. Van Persie was probably the only rare exception, but he was hungry for trophies, and even he respected Fergie so much. Over the years he had gained such profound respect, felt like United players played for him, not for United. When he left, that urge to win was gone. He was United.

As a United fan since young SAF would be chewing gum when game started & I know for sure he meant business till final whistle , not a single players get away scot free, everyone got a mouthful of his saliva... that brought out the character of a man which should be the way a manager should be , it's not about fear or threat. It's all respect & being real men will go out fighting for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex Ferguson is the 2nd best thing to happen to Manchester United after Sir Matt Busby. Sir Matt Busby laid the foundation, Sir Alex Ferguson built it and made it strong and sturdy, then The Glazers came in and demolished it. Now we're back to the blueprint. #EdWoodwardOut #LUHG - LOVE UNITED HATE GLAZER

Very interesting comment about luck, those United teams were very lucky. When Napoleon was asked what quality he most looked for in a general, he said luck.

I think if pep or loop heritage not a full of superstar players like Sir Alex used to when they had along injury list, like 2or 3 season before he retired, they will fail to completely. Sir Alex can turn average players be a top. Fletcher, o she'a, brown, cleverly, just for example.
