So underrated it’s strange how no one includes him in an all time premier league XI
Underrated? I don't see how. He is well known and admired player. And NO ONE includes him?
@@damage1136 when you said no one i dont know if you were questioning him choosing to say “no one” or if you were agreeing, but if you were questioning him he obviously didnt mean it literally
It's because Rooney isn't one of the top few strikers in the PL or one of the top few attacking midfielders, he's a mixture.
Is anyone really going to pick Rooney in the striker position over Drogba, Henry, C
R7, Suarez, Salah, Shearer, etc. or Rooney over De Bruyne, Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes, Fabregas, etc. in midfield?
I think he suffers from being so versatile. Last 4-5 years he was sitting deep a lot and not just up front. If he stayed there he probably would have a few dozen more goals I’d say. I agree to a degree, as most would choose Henry, Shearer and Aguero over Rooney as strikers.
@@ryanpinder9053 it’s crazy coz Shearer is the only one to have more PL goals than Rooney
Wayne Rooney was, without doubt, one of the most ferocious, most dedicated and deeply gifted footballers to ever grace top league football. Good luck Wazza. As a United fan, you made the matches you played in an art form to be beheld.
Wazzas career was perfection I always wanted Gazza to have that kind of career but it wasn't to be
@@red_dog_5 because Rooney was 10 times better
This man was one of the few reasons why I started loving football thank you wazza ❤️
This man was the reason my Nana was so happy, thank you Wazza
Same
Same and not even a United fan
Same honestly
Your easily pleased

Overrated got carried by Cristiano Ronaldo snd berbatov
@@miniguccibeard3021 shut up man ahaha Berbatov was class but very frustrating, Rooney definitely bought the best out of him.
@@miniguccibeard3021 Clueless. Rooney Ronaldo and Tevez were class. But Wazza made them that good. He was unselfish and could of got a lot more goals.

man management is so often overlooked in football. One of the reasons why its so annoying seeing constant streams of comments about how 'Roy Keane would have a field day if he was their manager' in regards to players like Pogba. Do you think sir alex just screamed at every player and thats why they performed? do you think that ripping appart teenage ronaldo is what he did? sir alex noticed how differant players reacted differently to criticism's and he acted in line with that when addressing them.
So true
Spot on!
*criticism
Exactly. I hope Mourinho's taking notes! He's compared himself to Fergie in the past 🙄 lol but as a spurs fan I can safely say Jose must be dreaming! Fergie Fathered & Nurtured his boys. Jose on the other hand doesn't care for ANY of that... He's so ego-driven, too childish, too stubborn to even be half the man Fergie was, on or off the pitch.
I mean Jose will even publicly start drama with his own player out of nowhere and then hold grudges against them -_- 🤦♂️ its embarassing. Look at how Jose was with Ronaldo at Madrid, and then Pogba at united, Dele here at spurs.. it's pathetic really. Jose looks and acts like a complete mental midget when you compare him to Fergie
@@bigboydownstairs9651 this guy is salty even tho mourinihio took u to the top of the league
If Sir Alex wasn't a football manager, he'd be a world class psychiatrist. Pretty amazing that he always knew how to get the best out of everyone. He just knows humans.
Just see the last team he had which won the pl. It will be mad to get a top 10 finish with that team now.
@@satadhi
Completely agree. A team with Cleverly, Rafael, Fletcher, Park Ji Sung, Old man Giggs, Jones, Smalling, Wellbeck and Javier Hernandez all playing in the first team regularly...
...man's a genius.
@@stonecold6521 Don’t forget old man Scholes. Looking at some of those players now like Cleverley, Welbeck, Rafael, Jones, Evans and how they all turned out, it was genius how Fergie managed to win the league with them.
Of course that 2013 bunch still had quality in the likes of Vidic, Ferdinand, Rooney, old men Giggs and Scholes, Van Persie, Evra and even Carrick was quality so yeah it kind of makes a little sense.
He was also a very sly teaser. Constantly playing mind games like the ones against Kevin Keegan and Rafa Benitez. Imagine if he did it with Klopp😂
He made Wes brown play like prime maldini
More than a footballer. Scouser born United Legend. Thanks for the memories wazza 💯🙏
Rooneys accent accelerated 10 fold when carra asked the question
Brilliant observation
So true

You're a good man Wayne. Best of luck at Derby
Good good for what
Have a look at his Wiki page, under section "Personal Life". Absolutely incredible you think those indiscretions befit a "good man". Frankly nothing you say is credible

A legend. A hero. A role model.
One of the best ever on a football pitch. #ThankYouRooney
He's the only reason I started watching football religiously.
Fergie’s man management is so good that he sold us Tom Cleverly as the new Scholes lol
Lmao exactly.. He's made us believe for a moment cleverley is a second coming of scholes 🤣💀💀💀
Literally bruh saf winning the league with o'shea, barthez, anderson, fletcher, alan smith, butt & many more.. he made them all look better
He even almost convinced us Moyes was the next Fergie 😂😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂😂😂
Now we knew the squad were almost all shites shites , won the title only by the grace of van persie rooney and de gea

Reason I became a ManUtd fan, best ever player to ever wear that jersey for me
He is the real legend, one of the best soccer players to have ever played and witness play as well...thank you for all the great memories, wishing you all the best in management
Simplicity is key! Football is a simple game. Fergie used that
I edited this comment so none of the comments make sense.
It's not about luck it's hunger and desire
@@roykeane5688 you are right mr keane
Roy Keane had all the hunger and desire in the world, still needed luck from time to time
Hope he comes back to United, coaching some day - true legend!
They’re 22nd mate don’t think your luck will change things
I feel like this is what Solskjaer is basically doing in terms of attacking freedom. Bruno himself said that when he came in, Ole told him to just do what he did at Sporting. As a United fan, it's nice to finally have a manager with the same principles as the United of old. If Ole manages to achieve even a tenth of the success that Sir Alex had, it would be a great story.
Ole has a problem with defence. I think thats about it, but, i feel like unfortunately he's still trying too much to bring in football from 3 decades ago. The players today are not the same as then and i hope he becomes more ruthless
I think Bruno has an old school winning mentality this is brilliant in raising everyone game. The only player I see with a similar or even better mentality IMO is Grealish. I wish ole would give Pogba that similar freedom and license to go forward as I feel he is better in Bruno’s position.
@@aries666dc I personally think he’s starting to shore that. United actually have looked pretty consistently good at the back recently bar the mistake that almost any club is prone to.
@@MaurickSh to be fair its just the players at this point. Lindelof maguire and bailly are really good defenders but not on level with world class defenders. To be considered champions, you need the best or get the best of what you have. Maguire and lindelof have made quite a number of mistakes that led to goals.
you are really trying to compare sir alex with ole you have got to be kidding me
2:22 Speaks volumes about the trust Fergie had in his teams and their intelligence.
Sir alex Ferguson 🔥🔥🔥
This is the best I’ve heard Wayne talk, Crocky legend, remember the name....
He is the reason why I started watching football...💯
Thank you for all the memories you created Wayne, I will never forget the bicycle kick vs Man City.

The first game I ever went to was Rooney’s debut against Fernerbahce where he scored a hat trick. Feels like quite a big moment for me his retirement, would love to see him be a success at Derby

So why did he go two years in two periods to not score for England? A total of 4 years
Why did we think for so many years that he's thick? Was the image of him being a talented idiot media fabricated? I never thought he'd even be able to get his coaching badges now he's a manager in the championship.
Say this part quietly, but contrast the media coverage of Lampard (a posh Londoner) with that of Rooney (a working-class northerner).
@@talhahhussain5603 I'm not from the UK some I'm not familiar with the class and geography clashes there. But maybe you have a point.
@@talhahhussain5603 Well to be fair Lampard has an IQ of 150+ (pretty much legitimate genius level), and I would guess Rooney has a normal IQ of about 100.
Charlie Parker Lampard doesn’t have a 150 IQ lol and if he does it shows that IQ is an irrelevant measure of someone’s intelligence. Intelligence is multi-dimensional, IQ is one dimensional.
@@charlieparkeris as a Chelsea fan I welcome him to take his genius IQ elsewhere.
Man remember him in FIFA 7 and 8 he is a machine ♥️one of the best England player ever
Absolutely love Wayne Rooney. The most joyous moments watching football were thanks to his brilliance on the field. Proper legend. Have a happy retirement and good luck with Derby County.
Tnq sir for all the beautiful memories. Miss you a lot💔💔💔💔
Best of Luck, Wayne! You Are A Legend for UNITED, no doubt!
Wayne, your bicycle 🚲 kick goal against Manchester City is your legendary trademark ™️ of Rooney's Legacy. I can watch over and over and over again, i never get bored. The Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was stunned with your amazing skill and technique eventually he said he didn't saw the goal.
This has to be a reason Ole is doing so well atm. Man management over everything with players👍
Thank you for Everything Wazza...

He is definitely one of my favorite players ever. Attractive player .
Wayne Rooney is one of the greatest English footballers ever to lace on his boots .. judged for his footballing skills and fierce dedication to the game he’s unique and should be saluted for that and not criticised for his silly off pitch juvenile antics .. as a footballer … right up there WITH THE VERY BEST … “ Way to go Wazza !” 😊

Yeah thats actually funny, only thing Carragher is legendary for is how ridiculous he's with people in traffic
I miss you wayne rooney. . #GGMU
"At the end of the day, he's the manager." To all the United players, current and incoming, take notes from an actual United legend.
Wayne Rooney the Great. 💯
fantastic career..started supporting man utd because of him
His English is improving!!!
Rooooneeeyyy
Classic reading of his notes
The way Fergie would leave player out would be (and I'm just using Rooney as an example here because he's in this video) to say something like: "Wayne I think the game tomorrow isn't right for you but we're playing West Ham in 10 days and that's the one for you, you're going to dominate that game, I need you ready for that."
Now, there might be 2 more games between the one he's being dropped for and the West Ham game in the example that logically he's also been dropped for but the player isn't thinking about being dropped for 3 games, he's thinking about that West Ham (or whoever the opponent is) game and being ready and up for it so instead of being disappointed at being dropped, he's happy that the manager is thinking of how best to use him.
Fergie was the master at that kind of psychology. It wasn't just about keeping players who didn't play as often as they'd like happy, it was about ensuring that when they did play they gave absolutely everything.
Good luck Wazza at derby 🤞🏾💯 🐐 🔴

Best English player I've seen, and I watched Gaza's best years. Gaza was great but I think Rooney was better.
i like football because of wazza thank you 🤗🤗
ROOOOONEEEE!!!
Hopefully, he gets big things as a manager
There's almost an embarrassing humility to Wayne that just warms you to him and I just can't help liking the bloke. Especially when you've read all those media headlines over the years that were designed to basically sell newspapers. Sure he got into some trouble, but who wouldn't when you're thrust under the world microscope at 16 from a pretty tough and impoverished environment, to begin with. I wish him well and good on Sir Alex for helping the Kid to be able to rationalise today in a very grounded and balanced way. It says a lot for both men, the respect is evident and shows a maturity that I suspect will surprise a lot of people who've bought into the Rooney narrative over the years.
wazza the best of the best. all time man utd topscorer and England top scorer👌❤️
The only time i saw man utd being played out of the park in a brutal way when sir alex was manager was when pep and barca's la masians taught them what spanish football was... What a day that was... Ofc I was sad that we couldn't win the ucl... They were simply sensational...so good they were
