I don't have a cube but I love playing with my friend's conspiracy cube.
Congratulations, you have been randomly selected as the winner! Please send an email to TolarianCommunityCollege at gmail and I can begin the verification process and get your cards shipped out to you! COngrats again!
Hot damn! So jealous! Congrats!
@@jakefernandez6623 Me too 😅
Gg man !
Congrats!
i have an Unstable cube me and my friends built. Honestly, best decision we've had, as it was dirt cheap to pick up most cards and now we have one of the best sets to play whenever we want.
Do you stick just to Unstable or have you added in cards from Unsanctioned and the other Unsets?
I've in the process of theory crafting cubes - and I always find myself wanting to add Unstable and Conspiracy sets.
@@ButzPuff just unstable for now, but we have the cards from the other sets if we want to make it a set cube.
Also build this
How do you handle contraptions?
can’t wait for the Star Trek crossover set so I can make a borg cube cube
Hilarious. Love it 😂😂
This would genuinely the only secret lair i would ever buy
Patiently waiting for this as well.
What about a D&D Gelatinous Cube Cube?
@@foyoGames 🤷🏻♂️ doesn’t really matter since everyone is drafting the same Cube right? It’s not like I’m mixing it with other sets.
I’ve always enjoyed MaRo responding to someone asking him if he ever designed a cube, saying I do that every workday
hahahaha
Innistrad block was my first sets and still my favorites. Recently, I built a kaldheim cube because of how cheap it is and the flavor of the whole set just resonates with my love for norse mythology.
It’s hard to choose but right now my favorite cube is jumpstart. It’s so fun to think of new custom packs to add. I even have a custom Fblthp card that just randomly shows up in your deck like he’s getting lost.
I love that idea and this is exactly what I'm using my cubamajig for
I've created my own cube. It started as a pauper cube, until I realised that since me and my friends would be drafting just that cube, there was no reason to constrain it to a format. So I threw in all cards from Unsanctioned to spice things up, a few rares (including the signed one that Prof sent me for being a patreon subscriber!), and made it a set that I enjoy. It's been great fun to draft and play. I don't anticipate playing any other way, at least not at home.
I absolutely love the Innistrad sets. I have started my own collection, and honestly I am loving all the organization and cataloging that goes along with it!!
I plan on making a “Win the Game” cube, with mostly “You win the game” cards and ways to enable them. Hedron alignment, pinnacle helix etc.
That is a really good idea
I don't know how well it would work but it's seems really fun to draft
Would love to see a list of you make it
Might want to avoid Battle of Wits in that one.
The cube that I've had the most fun with was a blinged out power cube that someone at my LGS came in with one day. The cube had crazy cards like the fetch and shock lands, two color swords, a legacy elf subtheme, and iconic cards from magics history. The owner of the cube tried to make every card foil or alternate art too, which was a nice treat to play with. I ended up playing a monogreen elf deck and got completely bodied by an opponent running sword of feast and famine. I couldn't have been more happy to get decimated while playing such a fun cube!
Been playing and collecting for almost 7 years now, but I never built a cube before! Might actually try it now!
Always fun learning from the professor, even when it's something I'm not planning on doing.
My best friend and my self’s birthdays are on July 31st and I couldn’t think of a better joint gift than sharing a nostalgic walk with him and others in Innistrad.
I am passionate about set cubes. I have only “finished” my War of the Spark mini cube, but I am also working on a host of projects, the most exciting of which are an Urza Block cube, a Mirrodin/Darksteel cube, and a Vintage Masters cube.
So far, the War of the Spark cube has been a blast to play, and I am most excited for the Urza Block cube once I complete it, I am only 20 cards away!
This is a great way to really make all those cards be played again and again! Thanks for all you do for the MTG community.
I love the amount of knowledge that you have brought to the community with all of the content that you have made and keep providing with ways to play with out having to play standard only
Kaldheim was the current set when I started playing magic, so I'd really like to build a cube of that. Plus, Kaldheim had some really cool art, so that's a bonus!
I did exactly the same for Dominaria as it was my first set on proper return to MTG. If you do decide to do it. I found for Dominaria at least it became a lot more affordable to build a set cube just as it went out of standard.
@@MatthewSeymour1986 Cool tip, thanks!
Those were both phenomenal draft sets too, have fun.
I should do this for theros, thanks :)
Always been really intimidated by making a cube. Thanks for introducing the idea of making a set cube and explaining it so thoroughly!
Cube drafting has always been one of my favorite ways to play. I built a budget cube when I was younger that I’ve gradually added to over the years and honestly I’ve had some of my favorite magic memories just drafting that cube with my friends
I'm obsessed with Ravnica so I'd opt for a cube full of all the Ravnica sets
When ravnica alliegance and guilds came out i made 2 cubes out of them.
i'd say do it. my friend has a ravnica cube of the first two blocks and its awesome
I want to do this when Ravnica remastered comes out 👀
Honestly, I've always wanted to build a cube focused on the main planeswalkers and their stories. From most of Origins, to staple spells, to the forming of the Gatewatch, I think it could a very unique experience!
This actually sounds very awesome!
that sounds really neat!
This is brilliant video. I've been working on set cube starting Modern Horizon 1 to present and your explanation matches what I've been experiencing building a set cube.
You’ve taught all of us a lot over the course of our magic journeys and for that we thank you!
I am in love with the "Forgotten Realms" set an I guess it's gonna be my first cube!
I think that will be a great one.
I've never built a cube but this makes me want to build a commander legends cube
a cube is just a square
DO IT!!!
That was my thought!
I've made one but have yet to have at least 3 other friends to play it. I also only allowed myself 3 copies of any card and anything that had more copies were just replaced with good cards from any other set.
I love mine. I did 2 2 1 method along with only one copy of all of the partners and multicolored Legends to set them aside, so I can put two legends in each pack. I've also replaced a lot of crappy cards for more powerful cards( who wants to play a 4/3 reach when they can play a sweet dragon instead). The set has a problem with stalemates so finding ways to end games is important.
This seems like so much fun, and I would never have thought about doing this.
I can't even imagine having those sets in a personal cube. That was when I started playing limited and it was so invigorating to me and my magic "career". Thank you for the opportunity and good luck to everyone.
Can't wait to build an Adventures in the Forgotten Realms cube that seems like fun
Limited is the only thing the set is good for, but boy is it good for it.
I have seriously thought about this.
Building my AFR cube too :)
I'm tempted to build it myself. Looks like a lot of fun.
Completely agree! I seriously missed out on filling out my Innistrad cube back when the cards were more accessible, I definitely won't be doing that this time!
I have plans to one day, hopefully have multiple re-sealable draft sets for my LGS. We don't have a lot so far but my favorite has been a Theros Beyond Death draft and a player had been nice enough to bring their complete planechase deck and it turned the draft into an insane night of pure chaos.
I have been toying with the idea of setting up a cube and this would be a dream scenario! The Innistrad block was one of my all time favorite drafts, primarily the main set, but the three balanced out fairly well. The feel of that first visit to Innistrad was absolute magic (I intend all puns, deal with it) and to be able to revisit that would be a delight!
Thanks for sharing! As a relatively new player, cube seems like such an appealing way to play. I love to see any new resources or guides for different ways to build cubes!
"Any Magic the Gathering players have a cube that reflects their playstyle and personality"
Hi yes my personality is broke
-Pauper cube owner
Dang prof this video felt like a long time coming, glad to see it finally arrive! My LGS has a mid-power cube that I drafted it once and it was fun, I'd love to have one for forever!
Love your videos prof, thanks to you I've started with pauper and began experimenting with fun decks in MTG. Once more, thank you.
Can't believe the insane generosity!!! You rock Prof
I was just wanting to get into building some set cubes, incredible timing. Since I never got to play innistrad draft, this seems like a great way to try it.
I haven't had the opportunity yet to play a cube (fairly new to Magic and trying to keep it cheap) but I'd love to have a Ravnica cube since it's my favorite plane and i think it would play out nicely
Pauper Cube is pretty cheap and powerful.
@@TheSkizz89 hadn't really thought about it imma look at the concept and see if it suits my style. Thanks!
@@jordigasulla7523 Welcome.
You can easily mimic some of the well known archetypes in other draft formats.
My own has
WU - Affinity (Blink)
UB - Control (Mill)
BR - Aggro (Ponza)
RG - Stompy
GW - Bogles
WB - Reanimator
UR - Storm
BG - Aristocrats
RW - Equipment (Burn)
GU - +1/+1 Counters
I am in the planning phase for my cube. I have drafted cube with a friend’s low power cube and am excited to make my own. I started playing just before Scars and have such fond memories of Innistrad. The best draft set ever! Thank you for the entertainment and the opportunity to win an amazing cube!
You are the absolute best. Thank you for everything you do and for being such a positive influence on the community
My friend once showed me his legendary cube and it was a great experience
Me and my fiancé loved playing throne of eldraine, been thinking about building a cube from this set...
Ricardo, I just finished mine and it's AWESOME. highly recommended.
Been thinking of making the same one, the draft was really fun.
Awesome video as always Professor. Have been contemplating building a cube, but didn't really have any idea on how to go about it...until this video.
Ikoria was the newest big set, when I started to really get into Magic. And I just happen to love all the weird species (which was also the reason I became interested in this set).
So I would definitely start by building an Ikoria cube. I might even try to find some other wild and spiky creatures from other sets, that could make great additions.
This finally makes sense to me. Gonna put together my own cube soon
Ditto! I’ve always wanted to participate in cubes! But there oddly hard to find even in my competitive area! I’m going to look into building a Kaledesh Cube thanks Prof.
@@doomninja1 Kaladesh would be spicy, I loved that set! Good luck!
This makes me want to build an Ikoria cube since I love the monster theme :D
I started playing during M10 and had to stop a couple weeks after Innistrad came out due to work. Naturally I drifted away and stashed my cardboards. Almost 10 years later and after hanging out with my brother-in-law for a couple years, we discovered we both played magic in the past and around the same time.
We started playing again with the idea of focusing on commander. We got some modern horizons 2 bundles, precons and got lured back into ripping packs. I know, I know, buy singles.
I stumbled across this video and it is perfect for getting value for the old cards we have that will rarely or never see play. It has been a fun experience capturing the nostalgia and trying to figure out how to build a decent set cube.
Great content as always!
Thank you for this video. I have wanted to build a cube a long time now. I think this is exactly what I needed!!
I haven't played Cube yet, but I'm slowly working on a Fallen Empires cube.
Nice
I would love to draft an “Innistrad Chaos” cube, made of cards from all sets on Innistrad.
Give it a couple months and you'll have tons to choose from the new sets as well!
I was just thinking about this for Ravnica!!!
If you do this, you should add cards that "take place" on innistrad. Like cards from supplemental sets and commander products with characters and art from innistrad
Yooooooo this is epic. Just started playing magic. Can't wait to start my first cube!
I have built two that I keep updating as new things come out. And they are my wolf cube and knight cube. Both full of some of my favorite cards and fun to see how people play same cards in different ways.
Oh yes this is what I needed
I’ve never played in a cube, but if I could I would love to play in a gate crash cube! It’s my favorite set and it would be a wonderful experience.
Extremely excited to go back to Innistrad!!! Cant wait to watch your videos on it!
Professor, thanks for all your hard work that you do for the magic community. I would love to be able to draft/play with some of the older set that I missed.
I really want to build a Dominaria cube, that set was so much fun to draft and was one of the first sets I drafted.
Never played Cube, but I'm thinking about a mono white cube, my favourite colour🤍
I love this, and would love to commit to doing it someday. I came back to the game right before Innistrad, and fell in love with everything about it. I'd love to freeze it all just for myself, my fun, and those who want to share it with me.
Making a BIS Jumpstart Cube was super fun for me. Looking at the rare and common packs, and combining them into a single best version, gave me light but rewarding deck construction experience while also making the rare/common packs much more payable against the mythic packs.
I'm going through them again and making adjustments so that every pack has 1-2 M/R, 4-5 U, and 6 C cards, which has also been pretty fun. My only wish is that WotC released specific rules around building your own theme packs and a program to print your own theme cards.
I might do this with AFR, I'm already working on collecting every card in the set.
It's really a fun set to draft! Super good idea to make a set cube from it.
I've never actually had the good fortune to play cube, but I'd like to play SoI/EM cube someday. I just really like the madness & delirium mechanics in those sets.
Such great cube info!! Thank you for your info Professor and the intel on Cubeamajigs 😁
I built a set cube from Commander Legends and I've had so much fun redrafting Commander decks with my son! Thanks for the awesome content Prof. 🙂
I've always wanted to build a Lorwyn cube, I've always really liked tribal synergy.
Sounds awesome
A cube I've always wanted to try was Loading Ready Run's "Terrible cards cube" just filled with the bad cards and permanents like what you'd want to give away with Blim.
Oh god, strictly worse. I mean, I'd gladly watch someone else draft it.
Strictly Worse!!!
Whoever says it the third time will have it's commons in their next draft pool.
Thanks for the video! I'm currently putting together my first cube based on the AFR set for my D&D playgroup, and was originally planning on fleshing out slots with the new commander cards and some custom curation. Sticking to AFR alone will be cheaper and will help me test the cube with cards specifically designed for draft, though if this goes well I would like to fine-tune it with thematic cards from other sets in the future.
Good luck to everyone in the contest!
I've been working on an un-cube for a few years. Happy that I'm getting somewhere with it! There's been a lot of support with the new set and we got to do a bunch of drafts with it, so I was quite lucky to be able to get a bunch of bulk from that since no one cared about it haha
I'd love to make a cube with cards from when I first started playing Magic back in high school
Sounds godlike
I would build an Innistrad cube if I wasn't a student. I first started playing magic in Innistrad and Dark Ascension. I remembered drafting werewolf because it looked cool. I was very young and bad at the game so I didn't really fully experienced the format, but I would love to build a cube and experience it again like 8 years later.
I've wanted to make a cube for a while but I don't know how to start. This video helps out in several ways! Thanks Prof!
I have only played cube a few times. My first time, a couple months after getting into Magic, was the best experience I have had with cube. I was so awed by all the cards and what they did.
I think the New Dungeons and Dragons set Will be perfect to try this out!
it is, and try to do something special / extra / creative with it!
Way ahead of you. Just waiting for those prices to drop and the factory sealed to be released.
@@malmasterson3890 I am new to MTG, how do you buy factory sealed? Is it cheaper?
@@briankelly1240 Compared to the price of buying all the cards individually yes, but they are only sold at select stores and distributors like card kingdom. They come with one of each card from the entire set.
I'm starting in magic and I would really like having a cube
Appreciate your content and your passion for the game.
Thanks for the surprise at the end of the AFR as well. WELL worth the wait.
Also. You should totally narrate stuff.
I haven't played paper magic in years last time I played was when I was still in the army back in 2010. I had a killer protean hydra/mana ramp deck that I was super proud of during that time. That's when I came back into magic, so I understand exactly where the prof is coming from when he said that Inistrad was what got him back into magic because I was right in that era as well.
Now to the present, I have been wanting to play paper magic again, and have recently started to play commander (my favorite format) but have wanted to also make a cube with some of my friends. Thanks for the excellent video prof and keep up he good work, also loved you on I hate your deck and the extra turn's with command zone Sygg with swords is a deck I will def have to try out now.
Gonna try to assemble my commander legends cube now
If my friends washed their hands more often, I would love to do something like this. Alas...
feel that lol
It would absolutely give me the fear. Pre-inner sleeved cube?
I started playing during Shadows of Innistrad, thanks to you Prof! After that picked up my first commander deck, 5C Dragons.
My friends and I were thinking of building a cube for AFR so this is pretty helpful! We've been having fun doing drafts of that set.
I’m still waiting on a friend’s Conspiracy: Take the Crown Cube, which we’ve been waiting to play since before the pandemic 😆
I would love to try making a real "Timmy" cube, packed with a lot of big stupid creatures for big stupid fights with some surprise combat tricks and equipment here and there. Very schoolyard mtg
I did many years ago; it was SO much fun. DO IT YO
Yeah and I feel like the dnd set feels like a good base set for this, just add in some creatures you like from other sets and maybe equipment.
Great video as always, Prof. I love the Innistrad block, and I’ve been thinking about making a set cube for a while now.
OG Innistrad was the first set that got me into magic and it still remains my favorite to this day. So hyped for the return later this year!
I’ve always wanted to build a khans block cube because it’s my favorite set. Need I say more?
Excellent idea. I think if I started I should shortly have several cubes to cover my fav blocks
Thats what I'm doing right now actually. I'm missing a few cards, but I have most of them. Its also adding a decent number of cards outside the block that make sense in the format, either flavour wise or gameplay wise.
Couldn't agree more! I've had a Khans cube for a couple years now, as it was a block I really liked but didn't get to play given other occupations while the set was out. I've played it tons with my normal playgroup and it's always a blast.
My favorite cube is my “old border” cube where I made a cube with, as the name suggests, old bordered cards (essentially pre 8th edition). There’s a lot of janky old cards that are absolutely awful, but they create unique ways of playing because all the other cards are also janky.
I've been thinking about making something along this line, but also including the cards from Time Spiral Remastered and MH2 that have old borders.
Great idea! So excited for Cubeamajigs series 2!
Love the plug for Cubeamajigs, it is how I stumbled upon this cool KS!
Time Spiral: Remastered is a great cube!
Commander legends for that Commander draft goodness.
I love mine. I also spiced it up a bit to try and combat the notorious stalemates that the set has.
Thanks for this video! I was thinking about a WotS set cube for a while now and now i might actually get to it
OG Innistrad is by far my favourite draft block. I've always wanted to try and build a cube from it, so I guess this video was the perfect thing for me to watch.
I just finished compiling a list for a singleton Commander Cube and im really excited to sleeve it up!!!
Recently started work on my first Commander Cube…super exited to reach this point
Congrats, I've been working on one for months. Commander cubes are unruly beasts.
@@EntheogenShaman yeahhhhhhhh 20 card per pack 50 packs.....
1000 cards 😬
Im building a Artifacts-and-Token-nonsense-cube right now. Ive got a small and randomly built collection but I think its gonna be sweet
I have been looking to build a cube and introduce the fun to draft to my playgroup but i was always scared of building a bad cube. This is a great way to start!
I've thought about building a building a fallen empires cube. It's always been a set that has interested me.
I've always wanted to draft Fallen Empires -- couldn't get enough other people excited about the experiment though.
I’d build an Ice Age cube if that was even possible, as this was the first set I played
I really appreciate this helpful breakdown you did prof
You videos are something that me and my play group look forward to seeing and your honest reviews of all sorts of accessories and cards are amazing and has help me avoid some nice looking, but bad products.
One day when we finally return to Kamigawa I'd like to make a Kamigawa: Past and Present Cube
Are there Set Cubes and Draft Cubes, just like there are Set Boosters and Draft Boosters?
I know the whales will only be interested in Collector Cubes! xD
Double masters vip cube
