Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer | Official Trailer | Netflix
/ netflix
Seemingly random acts of brutality shock even the most seasoned NYC homicide detectives, stoking fears of an elusive serial killer operating within 1970’s era Times Square, a near-lawless sexual playground where forbidden fantasies were fulfilled, including murder. - Zábava
There's other's who try but let's be real Netflix is killing it in the documentary genre 👍
The only platform I can think of that makes better documentaries is HBO. But you're right, Netflix is killing it right now
Channel 4 and BBC both make just as good if not better
Their true crime docs are very well crafted
@@SB-qc4qg I don't think I've seen any Channel 4 documentaries. Any recommendations from them? I like BBC documentaries too, I forgot about them.
You are right, I like it
Netflix documentaries are the best. I’m addicted to them
Ya me too... but I usually like the serial killer/ crime stuff. It’s presented so well that it gives me chills as if I’m living in that era
@@rigkelkin2418 Same...True detective mare of eastwood, You !!
@@rigkelkin2418 Suggest me some please. I love to watch crime documentaries.
Same. They're the best.
Oh Yeah!!
netflix seems to be the only streamer who understands how much people love true crime content. Theyve been pumping them out for the past 2 years and they are regularly trending. Must be so little money for the return they get.
Anyways, i'll definitely be watching this one as well
you love it but you don't want to end up in one
Come back, Mindhunter 🙏
Love crime documentaries. Night stalker and cecil hotel are amazing! They give me chillsss
Ted bundy also
Cecil hotel was boring and just dragged on
@@Livelaughandlaughmore yeahh
That story was so inflated it's not what actually happened but it made good storytelling
My favourite is Madeleine Mccan and Family Next Door Watts Family 👍🏻
I love Netflix true crime documentaries
Night stalker was definitely the best one yet
They knocked that out of the park
that one was amazing. Still effects me to this day
@@weststigers8474 yes we’ll done and the detective was good in the documentary.
I am just obsessed with docuseries and documentaries on Netflix. Netflix is truly the best with documentary making, it really does the best!
I remember walking up 42nd St. as a 17 year old to get from Penn Station to Grand Central in 77! I’m a kid from rural NJ going to see my cousins in Yonkers & it’s the Summer of Sam & the blackout. That’s how different times were. We never worried & my dad was from the Bronx.
As distributing as these serial killer documentaries are they are really good and Netflix's is doing good work
Netflix is failing in the drama department but when it comes to murder docus, they're the best
@@gilbertduarte9087 well no they're just docus so they're under the docu category. Yea they can definitely produce more comedy!
@@gilbertduarte9087 I saw maybe 2 episodes of season 1 long ago and they were ok. I never finished so I can't get an honest answer.
@@gilbertduarte9087 cheers to that 🥂 lol
Delhi's Burari incident documentary was very good and it has shook me to my core...
Hopefully, this will be on same lines
@Mr DeShaun The documentary was good but the explanation they gave was not at all adequate
@Mr DeShaun Patriarchal cultures is something the west understand so little about.
Once again, Netflix is gonna knock it out of the park. This looks aweome. I didn't even know it was coming. I put it on my Netflix calendar and am counting down the days.
MORE TRUE CRIME DOCUSERIES PLEASE!
and this is make me miss Mindhunter, please Netflix i need season 3
Just finished it, it’s really good and worth the watch. Absolutely terrifying the shit that happened back then.
Just binged all 3 ep's. This one was really good! Cottingham is one serial killer that needed more attention brought on him and Netflix didn't miss a beat. Well done.
Totally agree🙂
Cottingham lol
@@iamstephaniedelcastillo - good catch! Sorted.
I see this guy on pretty much a daily basis. You look at him and he's just a frail old man.
@@Rockhound6165 - why do you see him daily?
Can't imagine 85-100 kills he got away with and how brutal he was. Very sickening.
Vernon is quite the character. I took his class on homicide investigation. He had some horrific tales to tell.
The music is building up the emotions fear😱, excitement and desperation
Any idea who does the music?
Shout Out to Netflix Team, Y'all are Amazing!
This is good!!!. Very interesting documentary. I felt that lady ,Barbara Amaya, needs a hugh. I could see her sadness on her face. Broke my heart.
I need more of these!! 😩
The documentary had great footage of 70's time Square.
Netflix crime documentaries are always great.
Tu le estás llegando! Puro oro!
Love these docs 👌
Loved "House of secrets- the burari deaths" now eagerly waiting for this.
Crime and Serial killer documentaries. U got me Netflix 😃😃.
I want more season of Mind Hunter .
Netflix have found what their good at, keep them coming many thanks from Australia 🇦🇺
The trailer literally couldn`t be better!!! I LOVE this kind of sht, that's my jam
YESSSSS, that's what we need
Geez, Great New Year watch, at least wait a week 😂 Very intriguing 🤨 💯
This looks great!
Can't wait!!
Reason for Subscribing, Netflix documentaries 😍😍
Excited!
The craziest thing that is not mentioned in this doc is that Rodney James Alcala (the Dating Game Serial Killer) worked in the same office at the same time as Richard Cottingham at Blue Cross Blue Shield... Two serial killers in the same office working together... So who wants to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield now? I hear their HR department has a top rated screening policy. 😂😂😂
Can't wait! I hope there will be a new season of "Mindhunter" that will showcase more creepy-killers such as Richard Cottingham who, I believe from my own personal study, is very likely the most prolific serial killer in America, having murdered well over 100+ persons, starting early on in his marriage. The late Richard Kuklinski ("The Iceman") would commit The Dastardly Deed, then return home and kiss his wife/kids goodnight. What could be more "creepy" than that?
im exited for this it’s interesting
Exited to watch crimes against innocent this world is messed up they shouldn’t even make shit like this the killers gain fans
@@matthew9739 dumb take
@@matthew9739 yes
another documentary all the teens and moms will bingewatch
You are right, I like it
Another awesome crime documentary to watch on Netflix 🙂. I can’t wait :)
1:31 Best part ❤️
Love true crime series, better then fake teenage fantasy series
I disagree, there is some masterpiece teenage series in netflix like Dark, Stranger Things, Hunting and Hill House, Sex Education and more and im 30yo man right here. Still Netlix Documentary is the best 👍🏻
I want a BTK true crime doc 😁
U r not alone bud
mindhunter
Yeah I hope they make a documentary about Dennis Lynn Rader eventually and maybe even one about Joseph James DeAngelo & Samuel Little because they're both just as infamous as all the other great serial killers of their time & in my mind should have been show alot on Mindhunter.
P.S. If I had to guess who the Serial Killer in this documentary is then it would have to be Richard Cottingham if you agree then please leave a comment below.
What's BTK?
He's been done to death. Joel Rifkin, Bob Berdella, Randy Steven Kraft, Dean Corll, Arthur Shawcross, even the Grim Sleeper have more menacing storylines that some aren't yet aware of.
Being a drug addict in the early to mid 80s and hanging out in times square i have to say it was not something i remember as being dangerous. I don't remember the murders for some reason. There was lots of drugs and all kind of porno places and peep shows. It was dirty and exciting and you could get any drug you wanted 24 hr a day and although im glad Guiliani came in and cleaned it up and that is all gone now, back in the late 70s to late 80s there was still such a great vibe in the city. I loved it and am so glad i got to come of age at that time. There will never be anything like the city in that era.
It was much worse than what your eyes saw. If you were in LE there at that time there were a lot of things going on behind closed doors. Cheap prostitute and section 8 housing hotels everywhere. You were lucky because you were probably young and just oblivious to the real danger lurking all over that place.
Time Square was Mob owned and operated in the 70's and the NYPD were on the pad. Add the after effects of the Vietnam war, systemic racism, generational poverty, and the lack of any real social investment in America.
How old were you at that time ? And May I ask what gender and race ? What was it like family wise?
Youth often has the delusion of invincibility. Yes, no doubt Times Square was exciting - I remember it, too. A lot of young addicts hanging around back then had to prostitute themselves to buy the drugs. I hope that didn't happen to you - the probability of mortality would have gone way up. I'm glad you were able to live through your addiction and pass beyond it and that you're still with us. A lot of addicts did not have such a happy ending.
@@orpheus9037 He's romanticizing his youth and the past, as many people do. But, it's rare to find a commenter romanticizing a time when he was a drug addict in a crime-ridden, mob ruled, center of illicit sex 😅
LOVED IT!!
Looks crazy, can’t wait
You are right, I like it
Nice and we need more docs on NYC Gangsters✅
looking forward to this one
At least Netflix is good for crime and serial killer documentaries.
can’t wait
Excited to watch! But could we get more documentaries instead of docu series? Some are really great but I don’t watch them because I don’t want to commit to something that is 6 hours that could be edited down to 2
Looks interesting 😎
If you're excited about this, let me tell you Mindhunter was another level.
Sadly Netflix would like to invest in some shitty shows in India, but won't continue Mindhunter.
Bring back Mindhunter
Bro, do you know who produced Mindhunter? It's David Fincher - the director of Fight Club. The show was A LOT of work to make but wasn't commercially successful. Fincher decided to cut his losses and work on other projects rather than complete all 5 seasons of a show that was underappreciated and a ballache to make.
This is false. Fincher wanted to focus on other things and Mindhunter,as great as it was, was a huge investment of time and money that wasn't paying off. I'm sure it'll be back at some stage, but the decision seems to be mostly on Fincher himself as to whether to continue it, and not Netflix investing in Indian shows.
Thought I was the only one. Mind hunter is definitely one of my faves
It's not Netflix decision, it's David Fincher
Spokojnie. They will continue it after 10-20years when interest is blowing just like "Dexter" , "Matrix", "Fear street" (doesnt matter that only fear street is done by netflix)
Am I the only one whot watched 1 episode of mindhunter and proceeded watching all crime relates series on netflix LOL
Netflix is the king of streaming platforms period
I want to see Edmund Kemper giving lecture .😭😭😭😭
Should be lectured by a Serial killer 🤔⁉️😕 Seriously...
Btw. Correction :"Edmund Kemper" 👍
And BTK as well
So Romantic
Found out this guy used to live literally around the corner from me. Obviously he's not there anymore but that's still creepy to me. There's a cemetery walking distance from his house. Makes me wonder.
when he claimed he’s been doing it 13 years prior from the first one he was caught, i was literally stunned like 💀
Very excitedly 🧐
Yayyy more true crime
nice trailer score 👌
I recommend this documentary
I'm not wild for doco crime, but I did find this interesting in part because of the use of old documentary footage of Times Square from its most notorious era, the sixties through the eighties, likely representing the city at its nadir. It is a New York that no longer exists and that alone makes it worth a look. There is also, of course, the narrative about the killer and his victims - I'll leave that to others. There are a number of important themes in the background of this series that I found compelling, namely, the mainstreaming of the sex industry (via Times Square, which is truly ground zero), and the emerging dialogue about the status of sex workers. Also significant was the theme of the growing emergence of feminism as a force for questioning and confronting the misogyny and victimization of women that came with the growth of the sex industry, often (tragically) with the enabling apathy and neglect of the police. What the series suggests was that Times Square, for all its infamy, was a gateway Feminism had to pass through to help find its voice and renegotiate the social contract to address the needs and status of women. Overall, the show does a good job with that, hence, the show isn't straight up exploitation of serial murder fodder. That would have made it unwatchable.
I am addicted to watch ing Netflix documantries ❤️
Night stalker is the best crime doc but il watch this
Who knew getting into cars with strangers could be so dangerous 😂.

Damn.. I am highly interested
I still can't see it. Doesn't it come out today ?
When will the second season of Sweet Tooth come out?
I learned so much here
Netflix advertising crime doc on CZcams: perfectly fine.
CZcamsrs providing us with crime documentary and requesting ad revenue: demonetized.
Makes perfect sense.
We should talk about the dehumanization of sex workers that makes them vulnerable to predators. That demonizes the worker alone, that caused their deaths and abuse to be ignored by the public and law enforcement.
"Work"
Because it's legal now in Australia, you can't find a streety. They're all in brothels or come to your door.
Well if you want to talk about that dehumanization in the correct context, you have to think about what was happening in the 70s and early 80s. The pornography industry was just starting to boom, and it brought in a lot of crime and drugs. Many of these industries were controlled by the mob. Sex workers, pimps, and drug dealers attract unsavory characters. The police at that time were not connected with state of the art data base computers and forensics. There were no video cameras on every street corner, or cell phones to catch people in the act of crimes. I don’t think people ignored what was going on, they just didn’t have all of the tools they needed to catch these people. Also, it is normal for people to have a lack of respect for those who engage in prostitution and drugs. They are usually related.
Cheguei cedo😻 Brasil🇧🇷
From Luca,Night Stalker,Dahmer to Ted Bundy ..loves Netflix CrimeDocumentaries
Awesome vedio 👌
Any idea who does the theme music?
Netflix Rocks😎😍🔥
Crux of it is every paradise was once a hell 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If folks want an enthralling read on 1970s, '80s Times Square, pick up Josh Alan Friedman's dynamite book "Tales of Times Square."
im in,,cant wait
Imagine if Jack the Ripper turned up in a time machine at 1970’s Times Square
There is a Movie already about it..Time After Time (1979 film), but Jack the Ripper lands in SFO, not NYC
@@redondo330 yep with Malcolm McDowell 😆 The Time Machine is hijacked by Jack the Ripper
Done watching. In the end richard end up become santa claus🥺
Great pitch a serial killer movie.
At the start of the documentary, the words “the whole world is attracted to Times Square” are spoken. They say the same about Las Vegas. I couldn’t think of two places in the USA im less interested in seeing.
If Netflix starts to do more nature documentaries, NAT GEO would go out of business!
please sir Shannara Season 3 kab aye ga update
Poor girls. 😔
It's not fair to arrest somebody innocent in the wrong like a sex worker just because the police cannot catch who they should be catching
Sex workers are gross they are most likely the reason for the aids epidemic
Hooker honey…
This guy is currently incarcerated at the prison I work in the area in which I work.
Looks charming
When can we get season 2 of The Society ??
It's like a mindhunter
This in the Uk ?
hype
A Netflix original: Killer will be portrayed by rising star 'Deyashee Johaneese', a trans poly-amorous greyhound from Ethiopia, victims will be portrayed by bipoc drag queens and the police force/detectives will be portrayed by furries in S&M gear with badges.
"We tried to keep it as original as possible" Netflix Crime Scene director/writer says in the interview, "it's all about keeping it intact".
