Honestly, the last year's format felt better consumer-wise, especially 2x2. Only one option which is $30+. Best budget and best overall was great to hear Skewb and Pyraminx wise. 3x3 was interesting with the tierlist however

Oh, and for anyone looking into new Megaminxes, Gan V2 is rumored to come out and many top solvers like it more then the new Dayan, so I would say to hold off a little before you make a purchase.
I guess just nothing changed for 2x2 and 4x4, so last year recommendations are still relevant.
It's kinda crazy how the tornado v3 and the gan 12 are still so relevant a year later
2 years later for the Gan 12
what's more crazy is people think cubes from a year or a few years ago are irrelevant now. You could get extremely competitive times on a WRM or RS3M 2020.
Not really crazy when that happens with dozens of cubes and even cubes from like 2018 are still relevant now
@@Unc450 the only cube that I would consider competitive from 2018 is the gts3m and even then imo the v9 is just a better version of it in literally every way

Amazing video! The best 3x3 choice for me is definitely the tornado v3. It’s still my main after almost 2 years.
Just bought the v9 ball core. And it is insanely good, broke my average by two seconds over the course of the first 2 days it went from 16.45 to 14.03 with stackmat!!!

I own both the wrm v9 and the tornado v3 and while the v9 was my main for most the year, I've been using the v3 quite a bit more recently. I think the main reason comes down to a change in turning style, I used to do Cfop but swapped over to zz-ct and I do more slices and wide moves as a result.
I own the dayan megaminx v2 and I love it. Been thinking about the getting the dayan mega pro with the ballcore, but a ballcore in a megaminx just doesnt make a ton of sense to me. The normal v2 is extremely light and the layers on a megaminx are much lighter than a 3x3. While the ballcore is probably nice to have, it probably adds weight to the cube which is a con for sure.
Pretty solid list overall, many of these cubes are my mains; I am hoping for a good 4x4 release and a 5x5 release in 2024 especially now that 3x3 technology has gotten to a point where the difference between a new release and an old one is extremely minor. Unless they figure out a new innovation like ballcore or piece to piece magnets, the difference just comes down to feel, cost and build quality. Ballcore in a better 4x4 wrm or in the mgc 5x5 would be fantastic.

A clip comparing the various cubes Moyu has released over the last year.
Also, I’d be curious to see you guys solve on various cubes and see how it affects your times or feel. Maybe use cubes that were released 10 years ago up to more recent ones and see how it affects your solves. Just an idea.

Okay this video is so spot on. At the end when you have those 4 cubes, I absolutely agree those four cubes are right at the top of my list. And if I am picking one of those 4, it’s absolutely the weilong v9 ball core edition. The speed and control from that cube is incredible.

I'm pretty new to cubing, upgraded from an rs3m 2021 to a wrm v9 this week and HOLY SHIT, it's amazing, I was worried that it would be "too much tech" for a noob that averages 1:05 on 3x3 but it is so smooth and sped up my solves and made me feel a lot more confident in my turning
There is never too much tech for a cube to any skill level. Only too much cost

How would you compare the gan 251 m pro to the Rs2m evolution? Is the gan better by a lot? Is it worth the price difference? And how would you compare the v5 to the weilong v9/ v9 Se??

How's the Aochuang WRM? I'm considering a new 5x5 but don't really feel like getting an old one since there might be an amazing new release any time now.
Here are the best 3x3's in my opinion:
Most recommended: Tornado V3 Flagship/ Yoo Cube Deluxe 2 (goated setup)
Option 2: GAN 12 (however it's loud)
Honorable mentions: Dayan Guhong Pro and the WRM V9
Budget: The RS3M Super 2022 (i haven't tried the RS3M V5)

Addendum for 3x3s, but all the 3x3s recommended use printed center caps meaning they are illegal for blind. Make sure you buy a blank cap or know how to remove printed logos if you want to use it for blind!
Any thoughts on which to get from the following two as a beginner? Super (the normal magnet one) or V5 dual adjustment?

I'm just getting into clock and while the QiYi is clearly the best, that's not really saying much because there's only two options. The QiYi is great but still has some issues and requires some modifications for top solving. I really hope we see more manufacturers developing clock puzzles in the near future.

Man i feel like 2024 will be a good year for big cube. The past few years have just been standard MGCs and MoYu WRMs. But this year we already have the GAN 562, X-Man Hong, YJ MGC 4x4 Micro-Actuator, YJ MGC 4x4 UV, Vin Cube 4, and outside of WCA, Diansheng released a ball-core 8x8 and a ball-core 9x9. This makes me think we may see ball-core 4x4, 6x6, and 7x7 soon by diansheng, GAN, or X-man. And for megaminx we got the GAN megaminx V2, shengshou Yufeng (two more ball-core megaminx's), and diansheng is making a magnetic gigaminx and teraminx
The gan 11m pro is still my favourite, I don't know why but it just feels right once tuned up, it's older but who cares, it works

I use the Diansheng Solar M 2x2 as my main and I think it is really good for its price.
This is just my opinion but as I am a sub 2 solver I think I can have an opinion on this
Since bigger cubes are getting more and more available and usable for speedsolving, I would really like those videos to include the best 8x8 - 10x10 on the market. They're getting pretty good, and it's difficult to find any source to rely on to get infos about them
That's pretty easy, the Diansheng magnetic cubes are the best from 8x8-12x12. I have all of them other than the 8x8. I can't imagine the 8x8 would disappoint since the bigger cubes are so fantastic. Only complaint I have is the magnets feel unnecessarily strong on the 9x9 and 10x10 due to using the same ones as the 11 and 12. The smaller they are, the less leverage to split the magnets and it causes the smaller ones to turn rougher. Loosening them seemed to help.

Qiyi clock is amazing I have one and love it so much. Got my time down to 3 second on the qiyi. Though I'll say this there are some sloves were the Pags get caught. I find to fix that just ppen it up and clean it and it should go back to the best again.
