Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is AWESOME

- When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened, I was totally blown away by the highly immersive land designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. While the land transported me into the Star Wars galaxy like never before, at grand opening, it was really only half finished. Batuu’s signature e-ticket attraction, Rise of the Resistance, was not ready for opening day. The ride was said to be such a leap in theme park attraction technology that it needed more time to complete, leading to a phase 2 opening date. And now that time has arrived and Rise of the Resistance is finally open in Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. I have experienced it and it’s incredible. Come along with us on this adventure!
I was blown away by Rise of the Resistance. In our new video, you can see a full walkthrough of the huge queue, including the immersive storytelling sequences leading to the ride. And a Rise of the Resistance ride-through video showcasing the highlights of the attraction. And lastly my brief thoughts and reaction!
You can see the new merch and a full Rise of the Resistance ride-through here: • Star Wars: Rise of the...

I love how the cast members don’t have to be “Disney friendly” to the guests on this ride. They seem very military and serious!
We waited until the end of the night to catch this ride when the cast members were tired, punch drunk, and ready to go home. They were extra snarky to us and we loved every minute.
Love the fact that they never break the immersion and keep it all in universe
Samjam 247 right until they say to pull on the yellow tabs hahaha
@@nastkillaa Well I mean they want to keep their prisoners safe for trade
"You'll be interrogated before you know it."
What the heck, do you think I want to be interrogated?!
@@Blueoriontiger You'd be lucky to be interrogated by the First Order. *_*sniff*_*
8:58 you're intimidating
"Thankyou"
Most polite first order officer ever lol
Ha
Her dead pan looking straight ahead expression though 🤩
@@OrdinaryAdventures my idiot self who snitched the resistance at age 17 " hey listen cut me a deal I will tell you where the location is Im the person who told the first order the first location " yah the first second I see them I will snitch
I'd be just like "good."
Hottest first order officer ever!
It doesn't even look like a ride, it's an EXPERIENCE
Agreed
It definitely is
Yes but when you ride the droid car thingy it’s now a ride
Or maybe not
3 seconds into the interrogation: "There's a resistance base on Kashyyk, Luke was on Ach To and I'm the one who clogged the toilet on the third floor!" :D
Me : * snitches on the resistance * now can I marry the supreme leader or general ?
Gaaa that was disgusting! Because of you, I had to use the little pig people's bathroom!!!!

The shadows emitted when Hux and Kylo Ren are walking across the balcony are amazing!
Agreed!
I think this is the closest we're all gonna get to feeling like we're in a Star Wars movie!
💯
The key word that Galaxy's Edge has been missing is "Immersion" and this Rise of the Resistance ride seems to have it, they need to make more rides like that, focused on little key events that have happened in the galaxy. If they do ever expand the park even more, they should add rides that use this exact same format, but are focused on events from the previous trilogies.
Like they could do one about the Bothans who died trying to obtain the vital information on the second Death Star.
@@OrdinaryAdventures thanks for liking my comment also did you see my other comment
Not necessarily. When Secret Cinema did The Empire Strikes Back (in the UK) THAT was emersive!
Aside from the VR games, yes
“Rise of the Screens”
All joking aside, I love the transition from that first preshow into the loading bay
See that’s cool, the hologram of Rey actually looks like a hologram!
Yeah that was a good touch. It might not be perfect, but there is a company developing a pseudo hologram system. Check out the VX1 from Voxon Photonics; should be some videos about it here on the youtube.
It might actually be, holograms exist. It could be projected onto a thing plastic or glass screen though.
@@traitorous5626 I'm pretty sure it is, just like they started doing in the Haunted Mansion 50 years ago with ghosts. ;)
@Max Gubbins lol
DementedCaver yep I was just about to mention pepper’s ghost..
8:46 *we aren’t on the ride yet?!*
Some people want to see the full experience
Ordinary Adventures it looks crazy
Taking into account the good parts of the queue how long is the whole experience
At first I was like, "Not another video ride..."
But then, hoooooly Sith.
😎💯
@@OrdinaryAdventures Im gonna be a spy for the first order
@@theroadtocosplayandcomicco5840 Me too I'm a stormtrooper at the park not kidding but don't tell Disney I told you. But I will give a hint I'm the stormtrooper that replaced that traitor Finn. I'm also the same race as him that's all I can tell you I'm not gonna give you my FN number just so Disney cant discharge me from the first order. I also was in the last performance of the first order march before Disney canceled it I'm the one next to phasmas right look up the video after the performance me a couple other troopers were sad they cancelled the show that was one of the fun parts of being a stormtrooper. I hope they bring it back or move it into galaxy's edge because they can do the show there if they wanted too its big enough or maybe unretire it for may the 4th and revenge of the fifth I hope because those 2 days should be all out star wars.
The Imagineers really outdid themselves yet again with this one.
Agreed!
Yet again? Explain. Seems their recent history...not so much.
Pandora, Flight of Passage, Galaxys Edge
I like how cast members leading up to the ride stays in character. The only thing that's missing is actual storm troopers patrolling the hallways and leading you to interrogation even a phasma appearance would've been nice like in the force awakens when poe got captured by the first order.
I believe this takes place after The Last Jedi so Phasma would be dead
It was fantastic to be there at the opening day. There were so many people coming out of the ride in tears. Tears of joy. It's really quite the experience. Feels as if you're completely in the world of Star Wars.
This is probably actually the best Disney ride and probably the longest one
Agreed!
But it actually looks so real
I can’t wait to ride this when i get to visit Disney in February, for the first time since the galaxy’s edge park opened!
Austinator13 I’m going in February too! I’m so excited!!
Austinator13 I’m going in February for my birthday 😀
I’m going to Disneyworld in Feb coming from Australia
Austinator13 I’m going in March
We have got to do a meet up because I'm going for my first time in February as well...I'm gonna be 30th!
I think it’s neat that they say “how many in your unit” instead of “how many in your party”
💯
Peter! This literally blew my mind! 🤯 I’m so excited for Rise of the Resistance to open here in Anaheim.
Me tooooo I can’t wait to go on it more and experience it with kitra and my friends
Dude I’m super excited for you, and a bit jealous that you got to experience it. I bet Kitra is jealous of you lol. I’m guessing you’re still doing the black kiber crystal challenge? Lol how’s that going?
Thanks, 20th Century-Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd.
This ride looks amazing.
Peter, you did a fantastic job filming and editing this vlog. Can’t wait to experience this adventure. I’m so excited I have butterflies in my stomach .🦋
Thanks SO much it means a lot 😃
Agree with everything you said. This was a great view and commentary about the ride.
I second this comment. First video of this ride I’ve seen.
Thanks for the preview! My son and I love the channel. Hes autistic and your enthusiasm paired with a calm demeanor actually helps him get over fears of rides and parts of Disneyland when we go! This preview has him so excited. We've watched it like 10 times.
That’s so great to hear! Thanks so much for watching guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@OrdinaryAdventures Hope to catch you guys at Disneyland sometime. Churros are on me!
Thats what Disney World/land needs. A place/ride that makes you feel like you are there. Although i dont personally like the sequel trilogy, to me this ride is still Star Wars and it makes me happy.
Enjoy all your videos. My daughter and I always watch. Closest we will ever get to seeing this. Thank you for bringing all the experiences to us here in Indiana!!!
Thanks so much for watching!
My wife and I have been living off of Ordinary Adventures reruns. So glad there’s a new video. 😂
Lol 😅❤️
I’ve been waiting for this!!’ And ignored all other coverage on this ride until it was available 👍
I was there Thursday opening day, through Saturday, rode six and a half times... every time I notice some new thing (in your video I just noticed Kylo's shadow when you are in the cell). If anything each day the imperial officers got better and better in the roles they played, I overheard them saying so many cool things to guests (like " it is by the mercy of the First Order you are allowed to wander without restraints"). All of it was amazing, I agree with everything in your review... Each day I arrived at the park around 4am to make sure I got an early boarding group, each day it was totally worthwhile. This ride totally cemented my already fond feelings towards Batuu into a full blown infatuation... BTW you mentioned the Black Spire book explains what the queue line going through the old ruins is about, you can see touches of it along the walls like the pots embedded in the walls to the other side of the blaster cabinets you showed in your video.
Another thing this ride brought to Batuu that I really hope they keep up is some excellent skits done around the X-Wing fighter! I wish they would do those at least a few times a week going forward...
New favorite channel this channel is underrated
Thank you so much 😭❤️
During my interrogation:
"I'm addicted to Ordinary Adevtures!"
Same
I knew I made the right choice in following you guys months and months ago. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks so much glad you enjoyed this video!
Hoping I can get in a boarding party this month, everything I've heard and what you shared is insane. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Do you know if that is just a 1 day thing? Or are they doing boarding partys all month?
Might want to wait. Reports have been coming in that its constantly breaking down.
@@rickywilliams1586 Just for a few minutes, one time, not a big deal. 1 of the thousands of safety switch was malfubctioning. So, the whole ride needed to be reset for safety. Normal occurence working out mechanical/electrical kinks. I'm a ride Mechanic.
@@Mostdefinitelynotabot really? Because it seemed like it was constantly breaking down. Wouldn't want to go until it was fixed.
@@rickywilliams1586 Yea its fine. Ready to rock.
Idk why but I started dyyyyying laughing when the droid started speaking Spanish 😂
It's like a vastly more modern version of the Star Trek Experience that used to be in Vegas. Story, sets, walk through sections multiple rides.
Haha true
I had the same thought after being through the ride a few times! The imperial trooper bit is very like that. The trackless part is way more impressive than the Star Trek experience was in Vegas though.
@@kigiphoto638 Definitely way more impressive it was more it was similar in principle.
I rode this yesterday in Anaheim... This was the most incredible ride ever! As a kid we played SW but never imagined I'd ever see a day where I would literally FEEL like I was in the movie! What a phenomenal ride experience!
Awesome!
Man like the month after we leave and the cool ride opens up? Bogus dude!
11:38 what the heck with the spanish translator! "Tlanspolte"😂😂😂
this ride will always have a 2 hour+ wait
and I'm perfectly fine waiting for it
😂
Same. I'm 100% bringing an umbrella when I'm sitting outside in the long-ass line. XD
Well, it will be easier to get FOP FP+ now.
Today is was a 5 hour virtual queue and then about 25 mins in the physical line. Once we got to the first part of the ride, it was about a 15 min experience.
Worth the wait!!!!
That was fricken EPIC, even without seeing all of the experience! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching! It’s epic indeed
It really does look like you're in the Star Destroyer
😎🙌💯
That looks amazing! Disneyland Paris is getting a Rise of the Resistance too, I really hope it's a 1:1 copy of this one.
Getting rescued was a lot more fun when the ride operator was into it. Adam the woo had the guy say that he was with the resistance and you’re being rescued.
... They kicked it out of the park with this one. I really like that addition of the drop section. I'm always worried that these rides lack thrill past the fun story but I'm happy they found a very cool way to bring that into the attraction.
"why do you want to be an murican?"
Me: "star wars galaxy's edge and universal studios"
Haha
Looks fantastic and seamless from beginning to end. Looks extremely fun.
🙌🙌
Ah imagine not watching this and just enjoying it in person for the first time. Alas no will on this end.
😂
I love how the first order people were serious, it actually gives you/everyone the feeling of actually being in the movie!
It’s so fun
This looks pretty amazing. I had to stop the video. I don't want to spoil it.
That looked fantastic!! Watched with my jaw dropped!! I can’t wait to ride it....one day!!
Glad you could experience it by watching this video! Thanks so much Stephen!
7:30 Risky move by Disney, that poor lady is going to face so many roleplayers improvising on her each day.
I think that’s part of the job though. Most of the people working in Galaxies edge like to be in character they enjoy the unique experiences from what I’ve heard. But if someone is being an asshole then yeah they’re not gonna be happy.
This is too lovley. Being as a REALLY BIG FAN for so so so so long of Star Wars... Im speechless and im crying......
Thanks for watching
Great job, Pete! Love hearing your enthusiasm. Makes your videos so unique!
I couldn’t hide it if I tried
3 rides in one like are you kidding me? Can’t wait to check it out.
I honestly feel like I didn’t get anything spoiled yet at the same time I learned so much, thanks for what you do!
Thanks for watching Gerardo!
It was really great meeting you! Thanks for taking the time to stop and talk! The ride was amazing!
Great meeting you too!
Ordinary Adventures thank you! Safe travels!
I can not freaking wait to experience this myself. Thanks for the great video, and may the Force be with you!
I do like how they used everything from that last book to go along with the ride and story.
This is sick so far dude! Keep up the amazing content
Wow your Star Wars knowledge makes your videos even more enjoyable.
😁 thanks
That’s really cool. Thank you for showing us what you could. Very Awesome 😊👍👍👍👍👍!!!
FIve minutes later, the ride broke down.
The ride breaks down a lot. It’s highly technological and involves a bunch of ride systems. It’s definitely going to take them a few weeks of real world flow to get to the bottom of some of the issues
DUDE THIS LOOKS DOPE! Man, cant wait to go! Great vid as always!
It’s soooo dope! Thanks heather 😊
Great job! Thanks so much. We're going next weekend. Unlike you with your VIP experience, we'll get to experience the majesty of the queue and it's glorious switch backs. Sadly, the stifling Florida heat and humidity are missing this time of year.😁
I will be experiencing it like that when it opens in January in California 😄
I remember watching your videos when galaxies edge first came out and for some random reason I remembered this ride being under construction in alot of your videos. Glad i decided to stop by bro. Very genuine and captivating videos per usual thanks.
Thanks Alex!
this is insane! big battlefront 2 campaign vibes form this ride! spectacular!
Yes agreed!
Thank you for this video! Now this is the Galaxy’s Edge ride we all were waiting for. On par or exceeds Shanghai’s Pirates of the Caribbean
I'm going in January, can't wait!! Thanks for all your videos, they are totally getting me ready for my own adventure.
I'm super impressed with the cast members basically working on a movie set all day! They look badass in those costumes too.
Thank you Peter for showing us what the resistances base is so the first order/the empire knows the layout once we infiltrate.
Ha
I wouldnt want to be the janitor who has to sweep that every night
It looks pretty cool I must say. The Imperial officers pointing you to the interrogation cells must be having fun
So fun!
This looks incredible! Your face when the pod drops is priceless! Can't wait to go back and do this!
Thanks for watching!
Great clean video review. I can’t wait to see this in person.
Thanks so much Judd!
I got to go on this today, it was the most incredible experience. I have to agree on the cast members, I stepped into the wrong place on the Star destroyer and was corrected. As an officer walked past he barked at me to pay attention but did it in such a way it just added to the experience.
Ha that’s great!
This video makes me so happy!
It was so awesome meeting you today!
I look forward to more Rise of the Resistance videos on your channel! 💫✌🏼
Thanks so much Angelique!
I loved seeing your reaction. My favorite part is bringing people who hasn't rode it yet and watching them try and figure out what happened haha best ride ever!!!
I love doing that too
Getting captured by the first order must be a lot scarier when there's just three of you..!
😅😅😅
This actually looks better than my whole life I might go to Disney in February so I’m so excited!
Yay!
OMG i feels like im in the movie too!! Damn it was really good the actor really stays in the character !!!
My jaw hit the floor when you walked out of the lift into the hangar. I have got to go do this.
Thats it! I am quitting my job and becoming a First Order Officer on Rise of the Resistance. That ride looked amazing.
Do it! Lol
I definitely think they would be the most fun to play!
@@OrdinaryAdventures Don't tempt me! Lol

Dey tuk er jerbs!
That woulda been sick if all those stormtroopers woulda stood at attention in unison.
The 1st review I saw. Good job! Love your channel.
I love when you do videos like these. They are friking AWESOME!!!
Thanks Hector!
The AT-AT's blew my mind🤯... Merry sithmas everyone!
Here’s hoping the cast members step up the drama. There was no excitement when you were being broken out of the cell. Should have been more urgency and story to explain what was happening.
I agree. I loved everything til it got to the initial breakout part (I thought the First Order officers were really good) because it was just too casual....it even took me a moment to realize that a breakout was happening since there wasn't any urgency.
I agree. That part kinda seemed really blah compared to the rest of the immersion.
shaun smith watching other videos from today, you can see some cast members more embracing the role and acting the part. So much relies on the cast members really committing to the drama. Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion cast are shining examples.
Some of the times I went through they were really dragging you out of that cell, I think over time they'll get down that part a little better...
That looks absolutely insane!!
Just brilliant!😯👍👏👏👏
Thanks for watching Tony!
I was originally going to go to Disney today on a family trip, but we decided to go in February. I'm so disappointed I missed out on opening day.
😱
This is the closest we will get to Star Wars being real. Keep it up 👍👍 also this ride would be 10 times better when escaping you can shoot the stormtroopers
Do the Red and Blue markers at the bording area have anything to do with which way you go?
I got to ride the Disneyland version this past Monday and I am still buzzing from it. It was amazingly epic. The greatest ride/experience ever.
The best ride ever
I like your video! It doesn't spoil the best scenes, the video of your reactions is hilarious, it is respectful of the company's wishes, and you give a fantastic review! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Briana!
Ah , James Arnold Taylor , thought it sounded familier!!
4:18 Aside from the loading experience, the main attraction is very similar to the Ratatouille ride in Disneyland Paris. 👍🏽
Yeah same trackless technology
No it's really not at all. I have been to the Paris ride, but Ratatouille is more about watching a few large screens that are framed by some physical elements, Rise of the Resistance uses some screens but they are part of a much larger physical set, tied it with a ton of practical real effects that make you feel way more immersed with what is happening on the screens and sets around you. Also the Star Wars ride is way more truly multi-level... the fact that they share trackless vehicles is where the similarity ends. You can see a ride through of Ratatouille here, look how much time they spend sitting in front of huge screens - in Rise of the Resistance your ride vehicle is in motion almost all of the time. czcams.com/video/WtZdXqY1TKs/video.html
@@kigiphoto638 I have been to the Paris ride a few times. The similarity is the trackless ride combined with screens and real atmosphere.
I haven't been to the Rise of Resistance ride, but those are the characteristics I refer to.
loving the customer service at 8:55, hilarious cast members
Haha
The line queue tour is very cool. Seeing BB-8 and the Rey hologram was probably the best part next to the x-wing flight suit lockers.
I'm sure the rise of the resistance ride is awesome when the ride isn't breaking down which is almost all the time
I’m sure they will work out the kinks as more and more people ride it
@@OrdinaryAdventures they have had a ton of time to work out the kinks
Almost all the time is not right, I was there all day Thursday / Friday, and Saturday morning... it breaks down for maybe a few hours each day, which will get better as they tune the thing. It was up way more than it was down and a whole bunch of people got to ride it each day. Even when it does break down it can be awesome though, it broke down while I was in the stormtrooper room so we got to spend about 20 minutes in there just taking pictures until they evacuated us! I rather be evaced from the middle of Rise of the Resistance than go through the whole of almost any other ride.
I feel a deep disturbance in the suckiness, as if 100 imagineers all tried hard and suddenly succeeded. I would very much like to see this attraction. Thanks for the tour.
Awesome vid ! Just got to experience this last Sunday and as a huge Star Wars fan it was the most incredible experience! The entire experience immerses you from the very get go, still can’t believe the first order star destroyer hanger part. Love the vids keep it up!
