I’m Looking Through You - The Beatles Cover by MonaLisa Twins
    -------------
While we’re hibernating in the studio, working on new original recordings, we wanted to share another Duo Session with you, which we recorded as part of an album released last year: monalisa-twins...
“I’m Looking Through You” from one of our favourite Beatles albums “Rubber Soul”, adapted for 1 guitar, 1 banjo and 2 vocals.
We adore this song. There is something about its brutal honesty paired with a rather sweet and innocent sounding melody and arrangement. On almost all levels, these lyrics have never been more relevant than these days.
To watch ALL 15 of the Duo Sessions from our album + 6 news ones from “Season 2”, please consider joining the MLT Club here: monalisa-twins...
Take care, groovy folks, and stay beatley,
    Mona & Lisa

I worked for a Chinese immigrant family as a delivery driver for ten years at their restaurant. They knew nothing about the Beatles. Their kids were ages 4 and 6 when I started there. I gradually indoctrinated the kids on the Beatles. By the time the kids were teenagers, the boy was learning how to play Beatles songs on guitar. They loved the “Yellow Submarine” movie when I took them to the theater to watch it on the 50th anniversary celebration.

i suppose you are right. that song is underrated. i never thought about it, the beatles had so may charted hits. this composition is superb. i listened to a session recording from Abby Rd. Studios where the beatles were composing, it's on youtube, i don't remember what it was called. but they kept coming up with these cool song segments that never got developed. It's amazing how creative they were and how much stuff they threw away for lack of time to flesh it all out.

I don't know how to substantiate that claim. I find it hard to believe that someone familiar with the entire catalog would say that, "It's alright." And Rubber Soul is often at the top of favorite Beatles albums. However, as great as it is, is it anybody's favorite Beatles song? Does it matter? No. It's just another ripple in the wave of Beatles greatness that washes over us.

Thank you for basically sticking to their original arrangement. It's hard to improve upon perfection, but somehow you managed it with a subtle touch of extra harmony in the last verse! Matthew Cloner...Yes.... absolutely..!! I was 13 in 1965 when this outstanding album came out on December 3. I bought the album as soon as I could. My grandfather, whom we had seen very little of for most of my then life, had moved in with us earlier that year of 1965, and I grew to love him very much in a very short time. He died at 70 of a sudden heart attack on December 10, 1965. Every song on Rubber Soul triggers the short but great time during those few months that I had with Grand-Dad.

The twins did the exact same harmonies Paul did on the record . Albeit he double tracked his own harmonies. I’ve met Paul a few times talked quite a while about everything . That was twenty years, and thirty five years ago. It wasn’t until the second day of a three day music fete in 2004 that we were hanging out that I looked over at him,and thought . “ This can’t really be happening “ . We were in the same room for twelve hours a day for two days . The first time I met him in London in I think it was 1990 in SoHo . He gave me two ducats for the Buddy Holly Story in the West End , I gave him a 78 rpm Brunswick vinyl* record of Buddy Holly - Crickets first pressing of That’ll be the Day .
      * impossible to explain it was like Bakelite .
