Nowhere Man - The Beatles Cover
_ _ _ _ _ _
Over the last 12 months, there have been plenty of occasions when this song’s lyrics popped into our heads. More and more it feels like we’re living in a Nowhere world, with Nowhere plans for Nobody.
Everyone is dealing with the uncertainty of the moment the best they can, and we like to focus on the things we do have, we can control, we can change and all the good people we have in our lives. And to remember those that are no longer with us, too.
In that spirit, we’re keeping up the tradition of posting a video in honour of our dear friend Steve, whose birthday would be today. We sadly lost a very special friend and our greatest supporter at that time, in October 2019, right before the madness set in. He was a huge Beatles fan who loved intricate harmonies as much as we do. That’s why we recorded this song for him.
So this is for you, Steve, and everyone who has been feeling a little lost lately ♥ - Hudba
I'm a singer songwriter heavily influenced by the Beatles and this is my favorite Beatles song because I feel it's the perfect song, perfect vocals, perfect lyrics and even a perfect guitar solo by George Harrison and this version by the Mona Lisa Twins is done perfectly as well, absolutely perfect! Bob
I feel songwriters ought to be proper writers as well. There is a space required between a comma and the following word. There's no modernization of use on this point.

What’s better than Mona Lisa twins? Mona Lisa triplets!
quadruplets!
Love the rikenbacker
@@charlescoke4695 Me too!

This must be your best cover yet
A petition needs to be raised to make these girls Paul's support band at all of his concerts...C'mon Paul! Do the right thing!!!
My god, the Beatles wrote some amazing music..
Over and over and over, and never once repeated themselves. It is truly mind-boggling, when you you consider how hard it is to write even ONE memorable song, or one memorable bass part, or guitar part, or drum part, etc., etc.
It's very impressive, how MUCH really great music the Beatles created. I remember reading in a book about classical music that perhaps about half of J.S. Bach's works were great, or really excellent. But in my humble but honest opinion, well over half the Beatles' songs achieved that sort of greatness or excellence. Great melodies, and from 1965 on, often great lyrics as well.
@@BeatlesCentricUniverse Part of their genius is that they decided early on to never repeat themselves. Of course you have to be a genius to do that!
The Beach Boys kept us entertained for years with the same three chords.
Then along come Paul and John and a whole new world opens up. Without
a Stratocaster in sight.
@@markklein437 A lot of great music was written on Stratocasters, besides the talent that played them..Whats your point?
Genius songwriting. There will never be another Beatles.
And that was just a song or two Lennon was working on that week Tom.
Genius songwriting, singing, musicianship, creativity, originality, etc., etc., etc...
What about the magnificient cover made by these two great musicians? Great job, ladies.
dude, wake up. they were kids in a room full of legos. i shoulda had such access. they were managed by epstein. enough said.
amen and amen...
Thank God you girls decided to embark on this journey of making music. The joy you bring to our hearts is unmeasurable.
🥰❤
The only thing that takes the edge off of this video is knowing that Paul and Ringo will make more off of it than the Twins, thanks to CZcams and copyright revenue sharing. Anyone who enjoyed this video should give a listen to an MLT original before they go, as a small act of support for their work.
What I love about the MonaLisa Twins covering a Beatles song most of all is that it is like hearing it for the first time.
Yes! That's very well said.
So agree
Made me all teary eyed again.
Me too
Hmmm... I wonder why? Me too.
Also.... ;_;
Strange, but as great as watching and listening to this is, it made me a bit sad at the same time, too. Nostalgia I guess.
@@gdholmfirth I agree...how things have changed...but the music is timeless...
This is the second time watching this video. I'm a Beatles fan since 1964, and I just love your harmonies in this classic
I watched it more than twice and I agree, there magical, had me in a trance.
I am 67 years old. I LOVE this.

I always suspected there was another sister they kept hidden in the back room. There's just too much talent there for only two.
It is their ability to mimic each others voices perfectly which throws all of us off. :)
@@Rickimusic That's a good point. They cover each other's vocal range in a way that you just don't usually hear. With Simon & Garfunkel, The Everly Brothers and even the Beach Boys, you could hear who was doing which part. Am I correct in thinking that the audio mix usually places Mona's voice on the left and Lisa's on the right even if it is quite subtle at times. The same with the guitar parts I think.
Two more actually. Dont forget the other blonde haired sister doing the drumming.
Paul and Ringo, you must get together with the twins and do a gig!
I agree.
That'd be awesome.
I've had that thought. Wouldn't it be awesome?
What a fantastic idea
I agree too.
Lennon and McCartney greatest 20th century songwriters.
I'm real stingy when it comes to believing cover songs can be any good, even more so when it comes to the Beatles, but this ladies is absolute magic. Thank you so much
This song is more relevant now than ever before...great rendition ladies.
Very tough harmonies on this song. The twins nailed them perfectly, as usual. I would love to see their rendition of "Rain."
The background of both Paul and George's parts done perfectly by the one twin.
Do you mean Rain by the Aussie band called Dragon from back in the early eighties, late seventies??
Yes,,,,,I would love to hear them do Ringo’s unbelievable drum riffs
@@emilygraham9968 more likely Rain by the Beatles. It was an obscure single or possibly B-side of a single late 60's. The harmonies would be perfect for the MLT
A very nice arrangement. Kind of retro. Somewhere between ABBA and Lesley Gore.
Oh, God -- That's damn beautiful. I was already crying by the guitar solo! Thank you for putting this amazing recording out there. I'm certain The Beatles would approve. Love you!
Word ! :)
If this song hits a deep special spot with you, you'll love this cover. MonaLisa does this so well, it will bring tears. I'll lay money no other act could remotely cover this one as well. Every vocal, harmony, and instrumental part is extremely well done.
The twins are so good and respects the music. Nice job.
Another amazing cover by the most talented twins on the planet.
You two just make me smile, great lead vocal and harmonies, cool on the guitar solo, nailing the right 5th fret harmonic on the end. George used the 12th fret harmonic live....probably to get over the screaming.
あなたはあたしより 観察が素晴らしい🎉❤
Too gorgeous to be so talented, too skilled to be so beautiful. What a quandary.
On Oct 6, 2019, you girls released "Here, There and Everywhere". With that video, something wonderful happened. After that release I have been shocked many times by the quality, skill and beauty of your songs and the joy and love you share with and for each other. That love and joy you send out to us and for that, we are forever grateful.
I kept being shocked with emotions as I thought "it can't get better than this" but it did with so many outstanding releases including and after, "Here, There and Everywhere".
I am again shocked and choked up with emotions as I watch and watch "Nowhere Man" over and over. Thank you girls and Rudi; may 2021 bring you all that you need.
And 2022, no more Covid, hopefully.
Ditto for 2022.
My absolute favorite Beatles song. This version gave me chills.
This is Tom, not Sandra his wife. I am writing messages under my wife's name since she set this account up for me. So anytime you both see my wife's name show up under a comment, it's me, Tom. I love all your covers of Beatles songs. I was born in 1958. I am a Beatle fan from the first time l saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. I was 5 at the time. I also like the Monkees, The Turtles, The Hollies, The Mamas and the Papas, to name a few. Thank you both so very much for bringing back these treasured 60's hits again. You both are a breath of fresh air in the music business!! May GOD bless you both in your musical careers. THANK YOU!!
Have been Beatles' fan since 35 years, and think that this is the best cover of the song. Thanks Monalisa Twins..
I love these nowhere girls. So talented and so beautiful. And just when we thought they were twins, we find out they are triplets.
Excelent, very good, one of my favorite songs!
Very Good!!
Excelent
I love it how you keep so close to the original yet give it such an own voice.
Nothing today can match the sheer elegance musicality and class of these performances. Wel done !
For me it is the best song of the Beatles, the lyrics are so amazing...
I love this song! And you play it so well.
Fabulous cover. The voice harmonies are incredible!
Agreed.
Well I guessed wrong but this is a nice surprise. One of my favorites from Rubber Soul. That 12-string Rickie helps. Mona's lead vocal is great and Lisa's got that bass line down pat. Can't wait to hear the next song you release. Hopefully you will sneak one of the new originals out to us to give us a taste of what's to come on the new album.
i only see six strings on the Rik.
my bad... 12! nice...
@@senatormikemichaels8875 Mona plays the same 12 string Ricki on "Here, There, everywhere". czcams.com/video/mYGQHsuBfN4/video.html
OMG, what a treat!! Guitar: yummy, Bass: fantastic, vocals: delightful. And the drums: rock-steady, just like Ringo. I think John would like it. I'm sure George would LOVE it, just like I do.
Amen,this is truly your calling.
im 51 and my farther passed the joy of the Beatles down to me, you two girls are keeping the songs present and alive with such fantastic vocals fantastic workxxx
Your version of Nowhere Man grabs me more than the Beatles version. Mona's singing, your harmonies, and Lisa's guitar sounds on that Rickenbacker are simply superb. A testament to how truly great you both are, absolutely top notch! I waited a long time for your cover of this one, and wow was it worth the wait, spectacular and beautiful. The sound production is just as superb too, everything so crisp and rich. Love it!
It certainly grabs me too but perhaps for different reasons. Whilst I can't fault the technical brilliance and the lovely harmonies I do think their voices are somewhat to nasal for this song. It's a rather whimsical song but the vocal tones are too bright for me.
@@rayjennings3637 If you like it exactly as the Beatles did it, then best to listen to the Beatles version, and have your ears checked as there is nothing nasal sounding here. I enjoy MLTs interpretation more. In an interview in the 60s, Paul McCartney said they prefer people doing covers of their songs with their own unique style, and not try to copy the sound exactly like the Beatles. MLT certainly remains true to the essence of the song that the Beatles intended, and what makes it great, while adding their own character and making it their own, doing it justice. I think John Lennon would be very proud of MLTs take on his masterpiece!
@@jungroe94 Please don't get me wrong. I do like it but as I said, given the whimsical nature of the song, the 'bright' sound of their voices is not quite right to my way of thinking. Personal opinion.
Just for the record ( no pun) on the original, George Harrison used a Fender Strat for the solo. MLT version is great though.
@@jungroe94 Apart from the female vocals this is a direct copy of the Beatles arrangement. It's very good, but it's hardly a unique interpretation
Great cover of this "harmonies perfect" song... As expected from you two! Thanks girls for taking this Sunday one step above.
Have a great week!
I am a nowhere man. But, I know what I'm missing. You, Mona.
I love this song by the Beatles, and you guys did a fantastic job,the Beatles would be proud, thank you girls.
An absolute stunning performance!!!!!
Saw the Mona lisa twins so many times over the years in the Cavern . Fantastic 👏 💘
It’s a nice touch when, at two minutes, the two Lisas look toward Mona. It helps sell the illusion of the “three” of them all singing together. My guess is each did her part in front of a green screen and the three were composited together in editing.
Fabulous. A few days ago a British friend of mine said to check the Mona Lisa Twins out, said they had great harmonies, did top covers, and had some really good original material. They are, as the Hives would say, my New Favourite Band! Way to go, you two, keep 'em coming. 👏🏼
Hard to describe, but listening to this makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because the ladies do such a great job and it is a beautiful song. Sad because I realize how long ago I first enjoyed it. Nostalgia is a two-edged sword.
Simply beautiful ! Bravo ! 🙂👍
probably one of the best Beatles song imo, Beautiful cover
You do the Beatles justice as no male musical group could do.
MonaLisa Twins are so good at Beatles covers. Nowhere Man, Drive My Car, Guitar Gently Weeps, Here There & Everywhere, Til There Was You, Please Please Me, You Can't Do That (I told you before), This Boy, When I'm 64, Day Tripper, Yesterday, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Two of Us... I'm sure I haven't named all of them. These women are exceptional musicians. They perform Beatles' music evocative of the Fab 4 with an exquisite MonaLisa sound that this Beatles fan loves. Signed, MonaLisa Fan
Love how you Beatles so faithful to the original. I was 13 when the Beatles conquered the world. I am delighted how you close the generation gap with great music. And not only your Beatle covers.
A new video from you is like Christmas morning for us!

This has got to be one of the best covers of a Beatles song EVER. The music and the video are both rock solid. Surely John is grining from wrist to wrist because these two have done such a magnificent cover of one of his best songs. I agree, there's nothing better than the Mona Lisa Triplets....ha How can you not fall in love with the MonaLisa Twins????????????
Wonderful!! Back in the 60's this song was played every morning on our local TV station before they went on the air.
Sang this in my band back in the late 60's but this as close to perfection as it gets. Your artistry is amazing. Gerry
The Beatles must live on!!! Keep it going girls, never stop!
Surely the best cover of this classic. Well done.
So glad to see young musicians not forget the Beatles. :)

Perfect as always. Beautiful bass line.
Great rendition ladies!!! As a teenager I would turn up the stereos bass just to hear Paul’s fabulous base runs.
MonaLisa Twins and The Analogues are propably the only ones who cover Beatles songs with such precision. I'm a big fan of your originals either. Greetings from Brazil!
I agree ! The Analogues are from my home country The Netherlands.
Try the Josh Turner Guitar channel. His covers may not be as precise (using different instruments etc.), but damn son, the artistic value of those covers is high. His one man-one guitar-one take cover of Eleanor Rigby is awesome.
