Baldur's Gate 3: How To Be An OVERPOWERED Sorcerer Early (Ultimate Build Guide)

- This video shows you how to get OP early as a sorcerer in Baldur's Gate 3, mostly focusing on level 1 to 6. It goes over spell and cantrip selections, abilities, race, subraces, subclass, feats, gear (staff, armor, amulets, rings and so forth). But, more in general this guide facilitate a means to give you a great and harmonious leveling strategy that feels like you're playing a powerful class at all times. We all know that a (pure) Sorcerer is very powerful late game following the DnD 5e ruleset, and that early game sorcerers might be a bit on the weaker side as the result of limited spell slots. The latter thought is however a thing of the past, as today I will show you how to destroy everything in Baldur's Gate 3 as a sorcerer early on.

@@user-xx3wo5oz7c character outlines aren't required to be on when playing bg3,
What are starting stats for this sorcerer?
Only reason I built a red dragon sorcerer was so lae'zel can ride me instead.
This is the most based thing I have ever read 💀
Bonus points if you play as a Red Dragonborn too
…..
Wanted to like this but that would take the amount of likes from 69 to 70 and I'm not going to be responsible for that.

Spellsparkler is an amazing staff early especially if you are using magic missle a lot. Each hit of the missle gives an extra lightning charge
There is a circlet you can buy from a trader at the mushroom village in the underdark that gives you +3 health per lightning charge... also a necklace that give an extra bolt to your magic missile. Those 3 pieces have nice synergy.
the presentation on these videos is amazing, very well structured, delivered and the edits are incredible, very entertaining
Your guides totally unlocked my full enjoyment of BG3 and Elden Ring - had to show some love. Thank you!
thanks legend, appreciate the generosity!
Oh, this is the best guide I've seen on the internet. You explain everything down to the smallest detail. I don't even play as a sorcerer and yet I learned a few new things from your guide.
I usually tend to skip parts of build videos, but this one I watched every minute. Better explained impossible.
Thank you: D
I agree, only negative is that I can’t understand this video without subtitles.
Man, I've been following you and your guides since my early days in Elden Ring. Your ideas are absolutely amazing and your help, priceless. So many ways to play BG3 but being a natural born Sorc, I'm definitely trying out your build! Please, keep up the great work. Can't wait for part two!
I always enjoyed his Elden Ring build videos. Even if I didn't entirely agree with every build he made, they were generally pretty good, but his editing and narration were fantastic.
I was wondering where I saw him, it was elden ring vids
Found him in Elden ring too. The blood build to be exact. 10/10 youtuber
Smartest dude on BG3 builds, IMHO. I always learn something, and he thinks outside the box.
Wow a Baldurs gate guide that isn't 100% useless like every other video out there.
Dude. This comment is underrated! I 100% agree.
Hasn’t been very long 😅😂
Best video hoenstly i was so dead understanding th spells

Never clicked so fast in a video before, was so excited to see your thoughts and pov of the game, you're a really genius and determined person, your content have this awesome quality standard and I just can't thank you enough.
Love your easy to follow guides @Nizar GG. Always look forward to seeing your interpretation of the builds in the games we all love.
Prayers answered. I was watching a bunch of other BG3 build videos and thinking, "sure wish Nizar was into this game, cuz he would come up with something amazing!" Thank you. :)
Have been following you for a while now. The level of production and video editing that goes into these videos are amazing. Visually very pleasing to watch and love the amount of effort you put into your videos!
as of patch 6, ice knife is no longer affected by twinned spell
I love this video, whilst I want to learn my class better and play better, I also don't want to spoil myself too much.
You did both of those really well and I appreciate it !
Once I'm higher level I'll look into your follow up video
Hands down the best class guide video I have seen thus far. Caveat of me just so happening to play as a Sorcerer.
You can get a really nice staff for frost damage in the underdark if you combine all 3 icy Crystal, Icy Helve, and Icy Metal
Still running this staff on gale, mutliclassed him into sorcerer. Gave him as many ice spells as I could with white/silver draconic bloodline. 6 evocation/6 Draconic bloodline. Absolute monster.
@@akuma4593Did you chose Gale as your main character or can you change His race further? I'm asking because i didn't so how can you change His bloodline to draconic silver...
@edwoden3568 you have multiclass into draconic bloodline sorcerer. I just had him talk to Withers so I could also put his stats where I wanted them to be.
For the amulet, I went for the elemental augmentation found in the creche. I now add my charisma modifier twice on my cantrips. With my multiplayer party, I casually dealth a twinned firebolt that dealth 41+35 damages. It's absolutely insane and would recommend anyone to take that over the arcane missile one, which is more for wizards, sorc being more attuned with elemental damages.
how u do that sir i’m new
YOOOO where
I went Gith Storm Sorcerer and with all the lightning gear , elemental adept and war caster I electrocuted everything in sight. Good guide.
Thanks, can't wait to try this build myself! It would be great to see your companion builds, too!
This is extremely good and +20 points right out the gate for being a guide that straight up tells you True Strike is awful, way too many that offer it up as an option. It's never a good option.
One thing I will say is that White Dragon Ancestry is another good option, not only do you not have to worry about stacking your resistances by taking tiefling and a fire resist dragon, but you get Armor of Agathys from it, which is a great defensive spell usually only Warlocks get. There's also plenty of ice spells in the game to take advantage of the damage boost, with probably the best eventually being Cone of Cold which can do MASSIVE amounts of damage even without the ancestry.
Can't wait for you to go over insane multiclass builds! Good to see you cover BG3
BG3 is only my second game in this manner and I never played D&D, but I somehow managed to follow your guide before watching it by clicking on what looks/sounds cool.
Thank you! I'm waiting for the PS5 release and was planning to play draconic sorcerer anyway, so this is perfect
Oh HELL YES. Im so glad you are making builds for BG3!
Best bg3 guide by far. Edits are phenomenal man!!
Thank you for splitting this into 2 parts. I've yet to progress to level 7+ and whilst I know of Nere, haven't got there yet so basically everything beyond 6 would be a spoiler lol.
I had so much fun following your guide on how to become op as vagabond early in elden ring, thanks yet again for another blast run
Bro you're guides are actually so easy to digest. It's wild. Legend
Can't wait for the follow up video on this! Great video!
This guide is so good! Straight to the point no bullshit while also being very entertaining and simple enough for newbies to understand.
Exactly! Spot on, my man.
Cool seeing you make BG content... enjoyed a lot of your ER builds and stuff. Kept the game fresh for awhile!
I have a vague interest in this game, so cool to see you start making builds in it. I played tons of your ER builds, it gave me incentive to stay in lands between for like 150 more hours than I wouldn't otherwise.
glad to hear! If you have a vague interest in this game you should definitely try it out. It's a masterpiece and peak RPG.
Games great 98/100. I had no issues w bugs through the first two acts and ran into some in act three but other than that the game is phenomenally well done 👍
Highly recommend this game. It's sucked all of my game time out
I love the effort you put into these build guides 👍🏼
Twinned Haste and Lae'zel gets way out of control. 3 fireballs and 9 melee hits. The other two you have in your party just look on like WTF.
First guide that made sense and I happily watched the entire thing!
I LOVE your channel my dude! So many useful tipps OMG !!
This is excellent! Very helpful. Thank you for doing this.
Great video exactly what I was looking for and more! 👍🏻
Thanks so much for this guide! I've NEVER played DnD before... But heard great reviews about BG3, been wanting to try!!!
You're best! Thank you for all those details! Great one
I have seen many bg3 guides but this one is the best by far. PLEASE do more bg3 guides !
Amazing. Thank you for providing some cool ideas and making big effort to warn about spoilers and then keep them to the absolute minimum. Top job.
Great guide with great explanations for the choices for each level.
Fantastic build!! I'm waiting for more OP Baldur's Gate 3 builds!!
DUDE YOU ROCK! As a brand new dad, I don't have time to really delve in and come up with builds on my own. However, with Elden Ring and now this build, you really breath fresh life into these games and I get pumped to dive back in to these games when I have sort of lost interest due to a lack of focus or direction. Thanks for another great guide and I look forward to more to come!
P.S. Your videos are very fun and entertaining. You gotta find a spot to put your joke, "1+1 = 3, it was all part of the master plan." Simple but funny!
Thanks for the guide. I've been quite overwhelmed with all the spells and interactions so far
Another good thing about ray of frost is that many enemies that are strong against fire have a weakness to cold, especially those immune to fire
So excited to see what you come up with for Baldurs Gate 3! Bard pleeeeeeeease!
The best sorcerer guide so far!
Well rounded and throughout informative guide! THX
Yes! I was hoping you will be putting out BG3 builds. Please make a paladin one 😊
Another way I did is to start 2 levels with Warlock. The eldritch blast cantrip + hex is more than enough to blast through early acts and you dont need to use sorc level 1 or 2 offensive spells anymore.
This was the most clear and concise explanation I have found out of many other videos. Thank you for this help.
Playing sorcerer here on tactician and came across your video.
Best guide I have seen so far, with in-depth info and not just trying to farm views. Very eye-opening too.
I wish I had chosen sleep earlier. I underestimated it due to my bias towards higher levels (I spent too long in other D&D games being at level 10+).
I know you didn’t mention this spell but I have been using cloud of daggers, and it has been pretty effective to me in specific battles when I can funnel enemies towards a certain path.
(Level 4 here still.)
I guess I also possibly missed my chance at making the deal with the old lady for the charisma bonus 😢
Hi! I know this comment is from 3 months ago but how was your experience with Sorcerer on tactician mode? I'll probably start as a sorcerer too but I'm a newbie so I like to hear others experiences!
@@TheJedi25
It’s funny you ask now, cause I just finished the game a week ago - on tactician too. (I had no idea I took me 3 months to finish it, I guess that’s adult life lol)
Sorcerer is actually pretty good. Having a character focused on charisma really helps with conversations. Metamagic is really powerful - imagine casting haste on two targets at once, or casting two fireballs in a single round.
You have to choose your spells more carefully than a wizard, but it matters little because at the end of the day you will be using the same spells most of the time, and you can always use scrolls directly too.
You can have a very solid DC with the draconic sorcerer too, and with items that give you AC when you don’t wear armor, and items that give you dexterity bonus, your character can be quite tanky too.
Also counterspell is vital. I can’t imagine myself without it, with all those enemies casting crazy level 6 spells at the end of the game.
At the end of the day, not a lot of secrets to build a pure draconian sorcerer. Get as much charisma as possible, decide whether you need dexterity based on gear, make sure you choose twinned and quickened spell among your metamagic choices, that counterspell, magic missile, haste and fireball are part of your set of spells, and honestly you are good to go for the most part.
There are also some crazy builds out there for storm sorcerer, but I’m not as knowledgeable on those. And wild magic sorcerer, that I know absolutely nothing about.
@@hudsonps4669 Wow, thank you for the tips! I'm planning on playing as a draconic bloodline Sorcerer so everything you said will be extremely useful, specially the counterspell. And congrats on completing the game on tactician, I hope I can do the same lol
@@TheJedi25how is it going? I'm planning to play sorc as well.
Thanks for the guide. Used it and started getting way more value out of gale.
Nizar, these are excellent tips for Sorcerer. Thank You very much. I'm so excited to play! 125.1 GB download. I guess I'm starting tomorrow, then. 🥰
This is an amazing guide. I had no idea how to use a sorcerer.
Very clean and informative video, thanks
Just like your ER videos, amazing. Always great content, kudos
For weapons there is also Melfs first staff, can’t remember where I got it but it gives +1 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls, it also gives a use of melfs acid arrow
Love your guides! Keep it up!
Bro, I had a blast following your OP Mage build guide for Elden ring! Can't wait to start building another OP wizard monster in Baldurs gate
Thx finally a video that explains things for new players
Really liked your Elden Ring builds. I'm glad to see you're doing builds for BG3.
Finally good introduction to character creation. I was fucking lost. Will start over as now everything makes sense.
Charisma hair is insane what an amazing detailed guide .
great video. Helped me massively
Your guide has convinced me to buy the game. Very informative stuff ty
You already added around 400-ish hours to my Elden Ring play time, guess you'll be adding a 1000+ to Baldur's Gate 3. Looking forward to more guides. I've been playing Warlock and it's not bad but it feels very limited. Going to respec into this and give it a shot.
Now I want to see your storm sorcerer build! This fire build is nasty!
Very cool video, I used to be a die hard wizard, but sorcerer is just infinitely better in BG3, some great insights in the video, and the spoilers were miniscule, just a perfect balance :)
Great video man!
a great video, very informative without bullshit common in this type of videos
Really helpful. Thanks mate
ur character looks dope. probably the best I have seen.
Dude I followed this guide on my third try and deff the best play thru yet. I need to go do the have quest now but I just got to Halsin and stuck w him
Githyanki also gets mage hand and they also get Enhance leap + you can get fire resistance from draconic Bloodline red, brass and gold.
Having just hit level 6 following this amazing guide, I am waiting on the follow-up video with bated breath
Gone back to this video over and over.
Good video but getting Haste over Hold Person is better in my opinion. Twin cast haste on yourself and your best melee dps and now you have two super dps characters. You can double cast without having to spend sorcery points on quicken spell every turn or even just cast three times a turn, go nuts. Haste is super strong.
Yeah for real. Haste is so much more worthwhile.
Theres a circulate from the Hobgoblin scholar. Also located in the underdark, same camp you buy the necklace with the magic missiles. It gives you temp health whenever you gain lightening charges. It pairs nicely with the Spellsparker staff.
Bruh, video is exceptional.
when it comes to geat for sorcerer. I think the web/spider robes are the only option
UNLESS you want to help Wyll hunt down the tiefling and you keep the chest piece he gets as a reward
Great elden ring builds, great baldurs builds. This guy seriously never misses.
I subbed gonna be looking at u for guides really good job thankyou
A fun guide without a spoiler!!
I am so happy you started making the BG3 builds! Can you make a fighter one?
at level 5 you can pick fireball and replace a rank 1 spell for haste so you will have access to two level 3 spells instead of just 1.
Yep and imo Haste is more often the better spell, especially when combined with Twinned Spell so you can put it on two party members instead of one.
My sorc build is getting wrecked. I'm going to follow your guide.
Nizar the goat of RPG builds💪🏼
Ray of frost can also be used to put out fires, Or turn liquid surfaces into ice.
Nizar! We keep buying the same games! Your guide is fire. Love seeing you in BGIII!
Sub after this vid. I have the physical deluxe edition preordered for ps5 but watching this makes me want to just get the base game now. Don't mind double dipping for Larian.
Another item in the grymforge, The Protecty Sparkswall (armor), is a good boost uping ac by 1 for lightning charges and +1 to spell save dc.
You can just cast command: drop weapon on the commander to get the flaming sword at the beginnning area. Using Shadowheart.
I like the speciel effects in ur video :D
Homie you just made me like this game after a long time of me not really vibing with the combat. Thank you so much. I'm finally having some fun after understanding some basics!
True Strike has exactly one, very specific and niche, use that I have been able to figure out. If you are a rogue, cant get advantage, can't threaten a target, and are dual-wielding, you could cast it and get your sneak attack with off-hand
Thank you for this awesome guide for a BG noob like me! You helped me so much with Elden Ring too!
thank you for your generosity!! Much appreciated :)
If you use Storm Sorcerer, remember to focus purely on Call Lighting, Thunder ray, Shatter, Chromatic Orb Thunder, etc..... You will make extra damage with those. Also remember to give some one a create water level 1 spell.
Is Storm sorcerer any decent? heard it was bad...
Stormsorc/Tempest Cleric does insane dmg. Specially with Clerics channel divinity which makes one spell/long rest to do max dmg. If you get the enemies wet before hand and you will see some insane numbers!@@spellandshield
Create Water and Call Lighting is solid combo. 7-8 hard to say if you wanna roll with Fireball or Lightin Bolt. Though you get bonus from Lighting.@@spellandshield
Also the Storm Fly is super good to get away from melee range.
@@spellandshieldit's pretty good imo since it has twin cast and multiclass with tempest cleric you can max damage your lightning and thunder spells and if the enemies are wet you get double damage going from a 30 dmg call lightning to 60 dmg for example. Plus twin casting haste is really good. And you can dip 1 level into wizard to learn other spells if you want.
