What Ireland has experienced in this WC campaign is what the ABs experienced for the best part of 24 years. From 1987 until 2011, they were the best team/Top 3 in between WCs and would always fall short. If I had a dollar for every time I heard the comment "NZ are the greatest team in between World Cups" lol. It's not a matter of "if" Ireland will ever win a WC, its a matter of "when". People forget McCaw and DC failed at x2 WCs before winning their first.

Regarding scrum interpretation, the ref will judge which team has momentum, and momentum is a massive factor in rugby or sport in general, so being a ref in the middle of the heat you need allow the him to use his discretion and interpret what he sees. The rules in rugby puts a big onus on the refs judging which team has the upperhand in certain areas of the game within the laws

The legacy of both these countries is why we share 6 world cups about to be 7 between us, the All Blacks will be hard to beat at our best the springbok only win world cups every 12 years lol will be a classic. @ngabushallday6642 Před 10 měsíci +1

The game was always going to turn with the SA bench being so influential.
The two points scorers, Pollard & Snyman came off the bench, the scrum penalty that gave SA the match winning penalty was down to Ox Nche & Vincent Koch, bench players.
England simply did not make enough of their dominance over that first 60 minutes in terns of scoring points & when they went behind and were forced to play rugby, they were time & again caught behind the gain line and eventually conceded the penalty.
It was a decent gameplan from England, apart from not having an answer to the Springboks bench.
