@@southviewaraband Cominsky can hold his own too, especially against the run. They’re already vastly improved, on paper at least. They might even get a surprise out of Matthieu Betts from the CFL. Not expecting much but you never know.

He only got to play the final 1/3 of his rookie year and only played handful of snaps the entire 03-04 season. Just wait until he gets a full season under his belt, he’s gonna go nuts.
MCDC gave Alim the nickname Twinkle Toes which is fucking awesome lol. Alim went from 330 to around 300-305lbs.
Dj Reader and Alim are going to be one of the best DT pairings in the league next year. I think he gets close to 10 sacks next year and gets a BAG which gets deserves. He will be a household name after next season.
The kid is a stud! Having reader there is gonna free him up a lot to cause more havoc in the backfield. He definitely becomes a star this year outside of Detroit

Alim doesn’t get a lot of hype but he’s a top 10 DT imo. I think he’s gonna have a huge 2024 season for The Lions with double digit sacks.
Graded as number 7 overall last season.
Next few off-seasons are gonna be expensive. Saint, Penei and Alim this year, Jamo and Hutch next, then the loaded ‘03 draft the following year. Plus a Goff extension is coming soon. They might not have enough space to sign guys from the ‘01 draft like Iffy and Derrick Barnes.

@@walkersievers921 i hope so. This is the one downside of having draft success…eventually you have to pay them or watch them walk. But if you keep having successful drafts, you can afford to let a couple guys go, i guess.
McNeil is an athlete. Seeing McNeil development has been eye catching. Detroit doesn't have enough $$ to pay everyone
They gotta figure itnout cause we would be dumb to let him go in his prime. DT is not the position to go cheap on cause teams will run up the gut all day

Foolish comment. Every good team that is a contender manipulates the cap to make it all work. Look at every contender that has done it: Eagles, Niners, Ravens, Chiefs, etc. And I would argue Brad Holmes is the best GM out of those teams GM's. Turned the Lions into a superbowl contender in less than 3 years...

OUTSTANDING VIDEO !!! Fun fact... Alim doesn't cuss in his rapping because he wants to be a great role model to kids. Also... Pound for pound he's the strongest Lion according to Dan Campbell. That's impressive considering Amon Ra St. Brown is in the team and is one of the strongest WR in the entire league (benches over 400 lbs). I'll bet Alim can bench 550+

I like the Butter Breakdown and I really like Alim McNeill. Great player and a really cool dude. The other tackle list is long for his time with the Lions and it is going to be very interesting to see what he and DJ Reader come up with. I also really want to see those two take BP with the Tigers sometime. (They both played D1) I would feel sorry for the baseballs

Loved this breakdown. Alim is a stud. I can’t wait to watch him and Reader together this year, good luck rushing interior on Detroit. I could see both McNeil and Reader playing all the interior alignments interchangeably. We’ve seen plenty of snaps of Alim as a 3 tech, and at least for context this year Alim played more 3 when he was paired with Benito Jones or Buggs earlier in the year and played more nose when Alualu joined late in the year. Also I know you brought up Cominsky in the video because Alim called him a leader, I would love a breakdown of that dude cause he does so much of the dirty work. I feel like his role is VERY under appreciated in the Lions community because he doesn’t put up big counting numbers.

Great video brother. Alim is a great guy and a fabulous player, he deserves all the praise he can get! I really like your breakdown on his technique and his skill, we have a great guy in the middle and he and Reader are going to give QB's nightmares. Our entire defense will be much better this upcoming season Carlton and Robertson were great additions to the secondary. Can't wait to see how Brad Holmes flexes on the Draft. #OnePride
Alim is a stud. He has that twitch and has enough mass and strength to push people around.
He is also humble yet sure of himself, which fits the team identity big time.
It's crazy I've seen other Lions fans question whether Alim will get a huge payday. If we don't pay him someone forsure will.

I remember back in the 2021 draft when Alim was drafted in the 3rd round. They cut into the Eagles War Room and shows someone trying to give high fives to members of the war room after their selection but they weren't happy. I believe they ended up drafting Milton Williams out of LA Tech. I was always curious if they were pissed that Detroit drafted Alim one pick before them.
O-line d-line in the trenches breakdown, nice. I think we allowed 3.7 rushing 2023 3rd in the league over 5.2 2022 . Mcneill/reader will keep us in top 5 and improve the secondary along with a top 5 offense. Let's stay healthy and win the superbowl!

Both teams obviously borrow from eachother and other teams around the league like usual, but yeah, just thought I'd point that out. You can go back and look at week 1 in 2022 Eagles @ Lions, you'll see what I'm talking about.

@@paulmayer8654 It's not my opinion. The facts are these: the Lions Defense blew a huge lead in the NFC Championship. McNeil was on the field and played in that game. Thus, he lost. Who really cares how you play when you come up empty in the, "BIGGEST GAME IN FRANCHISE HISTORY"!
