- For this camp I thought I'd have a go at an Adirondack tarp shelter - I really loved it! It gives the same open, connected-to-nature feel as a lean-to, but provides much more shelter. I used a 3.5x3.5 tarp which was a great size for this, but I'd like to try it with a smaller superlight tarp at some point to see how that works
I cooked lamb & chicken kebabs on the fire with saffron rice & naan, oooh it was so delicious!!

Thanks for the description of the Adirondacks. Tree eaters meant the native Americans ate the white inside of the white pine tree bark, boiled or roasted. I try to get to the Adirondacks as often as I can. I really enjoy your videos, thank you so much.

One second I think you're setting up a folding camp chair or table and the next second you're burning a fire on top of it. Blew my mind. I've never seen one of those fire table things before. Very cool.

I never knew how to use a tarp and how simple you've made it look! As mentioned lots of time by others I love the way your positivity and love for the outdoors shines through...thanks
I used to always carry 4 bungie cords in the army . Keep your 550 cord tie offs on the ends of the tarps. And 9 volt battery and steel wool. Also FUEL TABS they kinda smell funny but the light easy. Really cheap $8 on amazon for 24 tabs.

Oh my lord that food looked AMAZING! We were just talking about doing kebabs in the back garden as a family cooking night, then you pop along with these! Nice tarp setup too, I always enjoy seeing new designs and how they work in practice. Can't really beat that little firepit for the weight, although I did find because it was so airy you couldn't maintain a bed of coals and the fire always burnt out very fast. You can pick up a little metal base plate, about 10cm square (I used one from a different folding firepit we have, search ZHZIRO BBQ Fire Pit if you want to see what I mean, it's the tiny plate that sits inside the pit at the bottom). This gave just a bit of protection to the coals and meant they lasted a bit longer.

Ahh Adirondacks bring back some amazing memories having spent three months camping there in my younger days working summer camp, indeed the Adirondack national park is absolutely stunning.

As someone who lives just south of Adirondack state park in upstate New York, and someone who spends a lot of wild outdoor time in these mountains, let me make a suggestion. Consider now making one of your lovely outdoor episodes from the High Peaks region of the Adirondack mountains. Would be perfect to do one of your episodes from mount Marcy or Algonquin peak. Lots of resources on the region on the internet. Would be great to expand the horizons of your channel and would make a great sequel to this episode. Cheers

I’m going to plug this company because one of your mates told me about them. Tent meals is a home grown UK camping food company that not only is healthy it’s inexpensive.
