I think it’s easier these days to kind of be independent - the internet and CZcams means they have more opportunity to own their own music, studio, etc. I understand what you are saying though, but I think they have angels looking out for them.

Sam Cooke was Bobby Womack's mentor/friend.
Bobby Womack married Sam Cooke's widow shortly after Sam passed away causing an uproar.
Bobby cheated oh his wife (Sam Cooke's widow) with his step-daughter (Sam and his now wife's daughter Linda). This ruined the relationship between mother and daughter forever according to Bobby Womack's autobiography. If I recall correctly, she shot Bobby after she found out he was sleeping with her daughter/his step-daughter. The daughter was 17 years old when she found out about the affair with Bobby Womack. They divorced as a result (of course).
The step-daughter left Bobby and started a relationship with his brother Cecil Womack. Cecil and Linda formed a group called Womack and Womack.
The ladies in the video on Tamron are Sam Cooke's grand-daughters, Bobby Womack's nieces, and their parents are Cecil Womack (Bobby Womack's brother) and Linda Womack (Sam Cooke's daughter/Bobby Womack's step-daughter/mistress). If you're into reading, check out Bobby Womack's autobiography. It was a page turner. He had an interesting life...that's for sure.

As a Huge Sam Cooke fan since the early 70's and spending years researching his murder and talking to several people in the industry from that era in addition to Sam's nephew Eric from Chicago; I have never understood or even fully accepted how Sam Cooke''s own daughter ( the mother of these young ladies) could marry a Womack after what Bobby Womack did to Sam Cooke. For those who don't know, Bobby Womack was a young man of about 21 when he became a Sam Cooke protege and Sam took him under his wing and taught Bobby a lot about the industry and helped to get Bobby Womack started. Bobby Womack ended up sleeping with Sam's wife Barbara. Sam himself was a ladies man during his marriage. It was said after Sam's brutal death which was a set up, Barbra allowed Bobby Womack to wear Sam Clothes and he showed up at Sam's funeral in Sam Cooke's clothes. I believe Barbra had married Bobby Womack by then. She was several years older than Bobby. Because of her coldness, rumors swirled that she had something to do with Sam's murder. At one point, Sam Cooke's brothers went to hotel where Bobby Womack was staying and Beat his ass for the disrespect Bobby showed to his friend Sam. Fans were livid at Barbra and hated her so bad she went into hiding. Barbara is of course the grandmother of these young ladies.
With this kind of awful history, how could Sam's daughter marry a Womack?? I don't understand??
Sam's daughter and her husband had a couple of songs of r&b charts in either 70's or early 80's. They were called " Womack and Womack".
It has always broken my heart that his daughter married into Bobby Womack's family.
I know there's a lot the public doesn't know but I spent years researching, because I wanted to do a play about Sam's life, so I had gathered a lot of information.
But no one could help me make sense of his daughter marrying a Womack.
Til this day, no one ever talks about Barbra Cooke. She received lots of death threats from Sam Cooke fans.
Sam Cookes wife Barbara wasn't his first wife. She was one of his many affairs, and although he married her, he continued to have several kids in and out of his marriage, to the point they were Both having affairs. In fact, he was killed by a hotel manager after allegedly threatening to rape her, or a guest. After his death, Barbara did marry Bobby Womack, who was 10 years younger than her, and a year later found Bobby in bed with her and Sam's daughter, Linda, and tried to shoot him. And yes thats Linda, these girls' mother. Yes, These girls, whose father is Bobbys brother, Cecil. So Linda doesn't come from the best stock when it comes to loyalty and values (speaking of Sam AND Barbara), and then she started off young making despicable choices, and apparently continued the risky behavior marrying Cecil, who also had some nerve in continuing a bad legacy for His family name. One can only hope that these two ladies will break the cycle.
But if you want a modern-day version of this unfolding, see Scottie Pippin's wife and Michael Jordan's son. Very sad and crazy, with all their options in this world....

And as far as him wife is concern, I guess that saying that goes ," Hurt people, hurt people" just may apply to her decision to marry Bobby. In other words, I personally believe its possible she wanted to hurt Sam Cooke. However, during my research, I learned Many of Sam's family members believed Barbra took part in setting up Sam that night to be killed because as the information goes, she knew he was with another woman again. Its alleged Bobby knew of this plot which is why the Cooke brother beat his ass at the hotel.

I remember Sam Cooke was something else. I remember the story about him and Bobby Womack and the same woman. I also remember Womack and Womack singing duo and their history. And how Sam Cooke lost his life by this woman.

Sam Cooke’s daughter Linda married Bobby Womack’s brother Cecil. It is not clear if Barbara Cooke is the mother of Linda because Sam kept having out of wedlock babies on her. If Linda is Barbara’s daughter then a mother and daughter married 2 brothers.

They are related to me. I learned this by teasing my family history. I’m related to both Sam Cook(e) and Barbara Campbell. My mother and Barbara are 2brother’s children who were raised/enslaved on the Hands & Eddy plantation in Philadelphia. My grandfather now deceased was actually Indian. I know, I know all Black folk think that ancestor was Navaho but they were really half white/European. It my grandfather was actually Cherokee Choctaw of the the Choctaw plantation in Philadelphia. Then we are, too related to Sam. I don’t think Barbara know that she’s related to my mother.

I knew some of Sam Cook’s family personally. I’ve never heard them speak of grandchildren. I’m sure his brother and other family members are still alive. I would be interested to hear their comments. I’m sure Tamara has done her due diligence it just seems a bit strange for me to hear about these young ladies.
You're right! I just read that Bobby Womack WORKED with Sam Cook. Sam Cook helped Bobby Womack and his brothers open for other musicians like Ray Charles.
Apparently Cecil & Linda(sams Daughter) had 7 children together.. Less than three months after Cooke's death, his widow, Barbara, married his friend Bobby Womack.. Barbara and Womack divorced after she discovered Womack was having an affair with Cooke's 17-year-old daughter linda.. Linda married Womack's brother, Cecil and they became the duo Womack & Womack...
Cooke also fathered at least three other children out of wedlock. There definitely should be other grandkids of the great late sam cooke the we don't know about

It's really not far fetched, if you really know Sam Cooks history, is was actually a womanizer. When touring he made sure not to visit the same clubs twice to avoid women he may have gotten pregnant so there are probably a lot of kids out there.
