Makes me wonder... was the eventual implementation of Volcanicus somehow rooted in residual knowledge (or some such) of how Computron combined

Grimlock is one of few transformers who genuinely has reached Deadpool levels of memelorddom/rule of cool. Dude don't need the gun show to speedrun creating five (six, lol) guys... after all he's more of a laser sword guy-osaur
During the 3rd season the Dinobots never appeared in robot form, at least as long as I can remember.
My headcanon has always been that Grimlock found abandoned machinery in the underground and reconfigured it, rather than build them entirely from the ground up, and with the super intelligence was able to give them actual sentience. Like a combination of how the Aerialbots and the Dinobots were made.
Computron says:"Conclusion..: Technobots deserves appear in the next movies."
"But that is just a theory... A film theory."
It should be...
"Conclusion: Technobots should appear as part of new toyline next year."

Aerialbots are honestly better as a Team of High-Fliers, (Like Top-Gun),
Dinobots as a Combiner feels tacky,
And Torchbearers work better as a cool Commando Team. (Like the Autobot version of the Combaticons)
But Technobots/Computron?
Feel just right.

I'm okay when it is relevant content in a Basics episode, but it bugs me when the phrase is robotically repeated in comments sections, whether relevant or not.

Still have my original Computron from the 80's. One of the sturdiest of the g1 combiners. Also gotta say the takara unite warriors version is one of my favorite modern combiners too. Excellent video. 😊
I really like the Technobots and Computron. I really hope we get to see them in either a new movie or TV show with a big enough role to help out but not get killed off immediately. Chris, I love your videos. You do such a great job with these. I hope you are doing well and I wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.

The Protectobots and Technobots were my first Autobot combiners as a kid, but because of how young I was when I got Defensor, the memories are fondest with Computron, especially since he survived my toddler years better. Thank you for giving my favorite combiner team some much needed love!

I was lucky enough to find and get the hasbro box set of combiner wars computron new and sealed yesterday!
Never watched Combiner Wars but I'm so happy to have learnt that MatPat voiced Computron. It's just wild seeing one of my favourite CZcamsrs having a part in TransFormers history. Funny how he's been in 2 shows/movies featuring robots/animatronics. Could that be a coincidence or is there some significance to it? It's all just a theory...

I know I liked ALL the combiner teams, but when the Terrorcons and Technobots showed up in season 3 I got smitten on those teams specifically. (Given timing of toy cancellations, the fact that I was actually able to COLLECT all of Abominus and Computron may have helped them really BE favorites, too.) But man, I loved Strafe and Afterburner.

The Autobot combiners always seemed to have unified color schemes while the Cons scramble combiners seemed to have random colors most of the time, the Seacons being an exception. Devastator and Predaking got unified colors but were anything but standard scramble types.
The Fact that most combiners were earth based.This is the Main reason, Why I like that they were Futuristic vehicles especially the look of the G1 toy of Afterburner but then I had most of them.
I had always hoped that Cerebros would link up w/ Computron and we'd get some stuff w/ Scattershot and the boys traveling around using Fort Max as a base, maybe with Brainstorm and Hardhead and them alongside... kind of like a Wreckers team but more of an exploration/science mission
And his look has been the basic (yes pun intended) for A lot of Cybertron looking bikes mode. Just look at some of the female Autobots in newer shows.
The Technobots being sci-fi vehicles and the Terrorcons being horrific monsters make the two groups stand out amongst the combiner teams. They only get overshadowed because they came out so late in the series.

The Technobots were my favorite Autobot combiner team, and the only combiner team I had all the toys for besides the Constructicons.
I loved the Predaking as the best as a combiner team... I was missing one of the legs though LOL ;p

In shattered glass its the reverse where computron gives his intellegence to grimlock but the process was not perfected as it left the technobots addicted to combine into Computron. This made the evil grimlock an evil genius as opposed to the normalverse grimlocks dim-witted personallity.

My favorite Autobot combiner team! I always liked the the unstated sci-fi vs fantasy aspect of their rivalry with the terrorcons. Hoping they get the love they deserve in upcoming Transformers media.
Grimlock's Brain was always one of my favorite episodes, & as far as characters go, Computron always felt like the most unique combiner. Super glad to see this episode!
My favorite Technobot is Afterburner, I love that his alt-mode isn’t similar to the light cycle from Tron and that he was voiced by Jim Cummings in all his appearances in the G1 cartoon.
Grandpa Wheeljack would be proud.
The Technobots are my Favourite of the Autobot Combiner Teams and my Favourite Combiner Teams over all only a close 2nd to Their Rivals The Terrorcons.
As for my Favourite member of the Team well that’s a Hard one, I think it’s a tie between Strafe and the team’s Leader Scattershot.
Also I really Like Matpat’s voice for Computron it fits the character a lot (in my opinion).
And yes The Technobots deserve more appearances in the future and hopefully they will Apear in the new comic series and not dead the very moment they show and here is some deta from Computron.

as my favourite transformer, computron definitely deserves more screen time/appearances in media. it would be great to see a live action combiner other than that weird dragon and whatever the hell devastator was. if anyone need recognition, its the technobots "technobots sad, conclusion, more appearances and less deaths"
Literally the very first Transformers toys gifted to me as a kid!!! I even built a shadowbox for my childhood set and commissioned custom Technobot art for my collection room!! Love them!!

Also I too would've loved it as a new series after Rebirth, like Cybertron is reborn and they basically start exploring space hardcore find a lot of messed up stuff, inculding worlds the quintessions or unicorn or the cybertronian great war screwed up and it pushes them to try and help where they could that much more. Oh and I would have had cameos by Sky Lynx and pals some, but like the "main line" story stuff with Rodimus and them would be going on elsewhere mostly. Prob would have put Preceptor in charge as the " Captain" by the point he'd both been science officer for Optimus on earth but also as a sniper in the war so he's the most experienced with both Cosmic rust style space horror and monster of the week Decepticons fights, Also I for one agree with Swift paw Wolf Fox I totally why I not only like but also love the war of Brain vs Brawn ha ha, Also I know I too not only like but also Loved ALL the combiner teams, but when The Technobots and the Terrorcons showed up in season 3 of the Transformers Generation One Cartoon I not only liked but also loved them already, Also Computron is my favorite Autobot Combiner, Also The Technobots were my favorite Autobot Combiner team and the only combined team I've planned to buy later this year, Also One of my favorite teams! Grimlock's new brain is the episode I watch the most. The Technobots are beyond awesomess and Computron was one of the most beautiful combiner ever made.
Afterburner was a cherished childhood toy. I remember driving him across the tops of the washer and dryer while waiting for Mom to finish doing laundry.

Lightspeed is my fave character of the bunch.
I just love combiners. So many cool opportunities for stories and characters not just from the giant robot they form but from the individual bots too. I really love it when members stand out so much they become legacy characters in their own rights like Swindle from the Combaticons.
Computron specializing in intelligence especially is an awesome idea.

Always loved the Technobot vechicle designs, especially Afterburner's unique motorcycle mode. Only had Scattershot as a kid, but finally got a whole Computron via Unite Warriors

I feel like there should be a fully dedicated episode for Scattershot. Cybertron Defense Scattershot was one of my favorite toys when I was little.
Cybertron was what hooked me on Transformers as a kid, so I'm absolutely one of the people who knows that Scattershot more than any of the G1 Technobots.
One of my favorite combiners ever. Computron, Defensor, and Menasor are just so cool. And Lightspeed is my favorite member of the team. His altmode is just too sleek.

I think it's really funny how Computron started out triumphantly defeating the Predacons all by himself but in every subsequent appearance he gets his face ground into the dirt XD
Wooooh finally; I've been waiting for this episode for a while!!
When I first watched their debut episode in the G1 cartoon, I thought that it was such a huge, missed opportunity for a Father's Day episode, as the Technobots called Grimlock their father, and Grimlock had created a combiner team known for their intelligence, an obvious tribute to his fathers, Wheeljack and Ratchet, two of the smartest Autobots before Computron.
My favorite combiner finally got an episode.
I remember being reminded of Grimlock's New Brain when we had to read Flowers for Algernon in high school. Algernon's ending was a bit more of a downer, though.
I remember a friend of my brother was very amused that a character was named "Afterburner", as previous seasons had characters say things like "I'm gonna kick your afterburner."
I felt this one was short and sweet. Computron is one of my favorite combiners of G1

The only combiner set I ever owned as a kid; it is nice to see they got more screen time than I knew. Maybe I'll look into that combiner wars version and see if it's worth picking up for nostalgia's sake.
It was the 2021 annual that convinced me to get the Takara version of the Technobots, and thanks to Power of the Primes Scattershot can combine with he other Dinobots

Grimlock's Creation Is a Masterpiece After All
Even though the Technobots had little screen time, Computron has probably the most distinctive personality out of all the giant combiner bots.
Probably won't be for another few years but one episode on the dinobots volcanus combiner is gonna be sweet
In the 2005 IDW comic, Lightspeed was in therapy for a rather unique form of Phantom Limb Syndrome. Not that Lightspeed was missing a limb. As he explained to psychiatrist Rung, Lightspeed thought he WAS the missing limb. He felt that he was the leg of a giant robot. This also made Lightspeed highly claustrophobia as he instinctively felt that most indoor spaces were too small for his "giant" form.
Hoping for a combiner series that focuses on one of the teams!
