Shows you how fantastic a person can be without worship of a deity. Wonderful man, wonderful legacy. All the best to his family. Glad we have YT so that we all can share this man's greatness. Live life to the fullest, follow your childhood dreams, because you only have one life to live, then you are history. It's always nice to leave this life having impacted so many people in a positive way. One of my favourite atheists is gone but we can celebrate having known him in some way.

I absolutely agree to the idea that religion should not be the bases of our actions to live fully. What inspired me most about Randy's speeches & lectures...his legacy to the mind & heart of people.Sure we do have God...faith & beliefs are the manifestation that drives all of us to satisfies our physiological,psychological/social,& personal motives for sef-actualization.Our passion and love in all aspects of life drives us to live well and fully.Thats what makes Randy remembered...forever.

How ironic I came across this guy the day I had the most poignant feeling, "I am going to die".
What I don't get from him is the awe and wonder of coming face to face with and confronting one's inevitable encounter with the singularity, the transition into the other dimension, or nothingness. Both equally amazing. Why is this here now? We are all dying. In some ways we are already dead.

He also left behind a message which is so true and so profound that MILLIONS have decided to listen to it over and over, pass it on and accept it for themselves. While I respect the right of individuals to their own beliefs and thoughts, and their freedom to voice it, this is not the place. Furthermore, those selfish individuals are only demonstrating their very small stature and mean spirits because we compare them invariably to Randy Pausch. May he rest in peace.

Redskins2k, some of what you say is very true. People do fear God less and less, but in the case of this man, no one is worshipping him, no one is bowing at his feet and offering sacrifice or the like. He gave an inspirational speech of how people can make their lives simpler and more fulfilling by looking at things in a different way. His lecture was very helpful to alot of people, millions to be exact. I believe in God, as do many, many, people. But dont try to shove it down thier throats.

No matter how much you achieve no matter how much you earn. And no matter how much you become "successful" in life. Death multiplies everything by zero. All that remains is the good we do to the creatures around us. One should strike a balance between ones wants and ones duties as a human being. It is death that finally convinced Randy to convince others. If it was not for death. man would be a want hungry animal. May God bless him in the next life.

people like glocker9999 are the reason so many bad things happen in the world. why can't people look at a great man like Pausch for who he is, and for what his legacy to many people is? it takes a brave man, a determined man, and a true man to stand up and talk about life during the face of his own death. people who listen to what Pausch says are people who can look up at the sky and believe that they can do anything. for some people, this may not be true, but for others, Pausch is an idol.
