What an inspirational man! He has left a mark on the world that won't be forgotten.
What an inspiring guy! He's motivated me to work even harder and live life fuller. So optimistic! Rest in peace, you deserve it.
A great man, an amazing human. RIP sir. Your legacy lives on in your children, and in all of us who were blessed to hear you speak.
My heart aches so bad when he speaks of his thought of walking Chloe down the aisle. My dad passed away of the same cancer 2 years back. This man is an inspiration to the world.
Rest in peace Mr. Pausch! Thoughts and prayers to Jai and the kids.
Randy is an incredible inspiration. I wish him and his family the very best of life.
I read his book in one entire sitting...it's that good and inspiring.
Thank you for such a wonderful lecture, though you may be gone, you'll be remembered. Thank you.
His legacy will continue in the advancement of education for children, and for the world as he has inspired millions to make the right choices in their lives. I promise to use his work in my classroom and that my students will benefit from his hard work.
He was a great speaker. A great man. Inspiration, no doubt.
Randy, while trying to leave a message for your kids you touched thousands of lives and I thank you for touching mine. Rest in Peace.
Jai, you are one lucky woman. God Bless you and your family!
I think that this is a blessing for his children. God bless passion of his life! And the love for his family.
Randy Pausch is more than just inspirational. There are not even words to describe what he has given to so many people. I feel as if he is a personal friend. I check this site for updates daily. I pray for peace and love to surround him continuously. I also pray for his healing....you just have to BELIEVE. :)
RIP Youre book was very insprining Dr.Randy Pausch
Mr Randy Pausch Inspired the whole world. Every child must watch this 'last lecture'. This last speech should be in high school books so every child can learn from this. It should be a law.
May God rest him in peace.
Shows you how fantastic a person can be without worship of a deity. Wonderful man, wonderful legacy. All the best to his family. Glad we have YT so that we all can share this man's greatness. Live life to the fullest, follow your childhood dreams, because you only have one life to live, then you are history. It's always nice to leave this life having impacted so many people in a positive way. One of my favourite atheists is gone but we can celebrate having known him in some way.
Now has been 45 minutes that I meet him here on youtube for the first time in my life and I never heard about him before but I felt like I met him a long time ago he is going to be in my mind forever. but now he is in a better place.
Rest in peace and bless your soul God is with you now
his face breaks into tears at the end when speaking of his love for his wife. I am inspired to make it over the brick wall: LOVE in my life and chronic pain. And as Randy said, We may not win them all, but we need to feel we gave it our all. so so true.

I absolutely agree to the idea that religion should not be the bases of our actions to live fully. What inspired me most about Randy's speeches & lectures...his legacy to the mind & heart of people.Sure we do have God...faith & beliefs are the manifestation that drives all of us to satisfies our physiological,psychological/social,& personal motives for sef-actualization.Our passion and love in all aspects of life drives us to live well and fully.Thats what makes Randy remembered...forever.
I agree AnnieMush. May he rest in peace. Our hearts go out to his family. May we all strive to live life with the amount of joy and love that he did. With no regrets.
what a wonderful man! I admire him and his wife so much.I check his site daily and worry when I don't see a post.I know his health is failing, but one more post is one more day with the ones he loves.
welove you randy hun. u live with god now. i learned so much from you .you touched so many people .god bless you hun .
Rest in peace, Randy. You were a personal hero of mine. The world has lost a truly great person.
Thank you randy pausch. You inspired me
Thank you God for having borrowed us such a wonderful person. All we have to do now is to follow the advices.

Randy is indeed one of a kind...
He is so right about passion for life.
He's the kind of person we should all try to be. The world would be better for it.
I never stopped thinking of you Randy since I saw you for the first time on Oprah. You are my inspiration, it is such gift to be able to hear your wisdom and see your beautiful soul. You are the Angel who just landed on Earth to give a message to those who seek and lost and go back home to Heaven. Thank you for the Spirit you have left with us. Rest in peace my friend.
I'm astonished and saddened that on the event of this fine man passing, there are individuals who are busy pushing their own agenda. Make no mistake, Randy Pausch has EARNED incredible respect and love from thousands of people because he found a way to connect with them in a way that is genuine and heartfelt.
i have watched this 20 times this morning -- he is truly my hero
what an amazing man, amazing wife and children
RIP Randy... God be with your family and friends at this very sad time...
Randy,
I saw your show on Oprah and I wish the very best for your family.
I love this man! And I'm deeply saddened.
I love his words on, "things, money.." but in people and relationships. WE should be thinking of our own legacy. We are all finite
blessings to his family
Vee, Colorado
From Dominican Republic: Let us learn about this... it is a great lesson.
Thank you Randy. Rest in peace. I'm sure The Lord will welcome you with open arms.
Mr Pausch may have not contributed great things to mankind to look up to but he made human beings realized how life should be. And that is even greater to material things mankind had achieved. Thank you, Mr. Paush --- ecj
God Bless, Dr Pausch. RIP
Thank you Randy, you are an inspiration to me and countless others. And you will continue to be an inspiration, whether in life or death.
What an amazing man!!! He is an inspiration to everyone. God bless his family.
R.I.P Dr. Randy Pausch
May you rest in peace
and god bless your family
I wish i had a father like him.
His speech helped me to find my dream and ways to achieve my dream!
Thanks!
Rest in Peace, you are a inspiration to myself.
what an incredible man, RIP
May he rest in peace. Prayers to his family. How very sad.
this man is really a legend!.
Thank you...
hey you guys...u r all freakin good in comments..life was undescribable...its about wat kind of passion we have? the truly love we can give and get? PAssion n Love...thats make u live..like prof Randy..Saluteeee!!!
thanks for sharing the words guys..
i trully believe that religion only do the moral part...NOT the Happiness...
grazie Randy, dal profondo del mio cuore!
How ironic I came across this guy the day I had the most poignant feeling, "I am going to die".
What I don't get from him is the awe and wonder of coming face to face with and confronting one's inevitable encounter with the singularity, the transition into the other dimension, or nothingness. Both equally amazing. Why is this here now? We are all dying. In some ways we are already dead.
He gets it right every time
he is one of the privileged then and a hero in my eyes, for standing up and just being happy despite his non believe in god. it is easy to die in peace thinking paradise awaits in the afterlife but quite another to know that this is all we have.
Truly inspirational
Rest in peace Randy.
God bless him!!! RIP randy! You will be GREATLY missed!
this guys a legend, ....i get so depressed watchin him though
Very inspiring...
speechless!!!...
so touching
Because for all the people that have said the same "damn" stuff. This man has lived it, honestly means it.
missing him...
Good people are not immune to the trials and tribulations of this life. Neither are the bad people. It is just that we miss the good people more. When you die, will you be missed?
I've seen this video before, and others like it... and I'm in tears again. I knew (and he knew) he was going to die, but somehow I wanted to believe he'd beat the cancer. We lost a wonderful, wonderful man on 7/23/08
Well said.
He also left behind a message which is so true and so profound that MILLIONS have decided to listen to it over and over, pass it on and accept it for themselves. While I respect the right of individuals to their own beliefs and thoughts, and their freedom to voice it, this is not the place. Furthermore, those selfish individuals are only demonstrating their very small stature and mean spirits because we compare them invariably to Randy Pausch. May he rest in peace.
Redskins2k, some of what you say is very true. People do fear God less and less, but in the case of this man, no one is worshipping him, no one is bowing at his feet and offering sacrifice or the like. He gave an inspirational speech of how people can make their lives simpler and more fulfilling by looking at things in a different way. His lecture was very helpful to alot of people, millions to be exact. I believe in God, as do many, many, people. But dont try to shove it down thier throats.
Well I've already made four babies and I'm still around engaging in life. We may not agree on the purpose of life but I hope you find your purpose and enjoy life. I'm planning to enjoy what years I have left.
he really looks different way back on his lecture. RIP!
Just under $45,000 has been raised in Professor Randy Pausch's name for Pancreatic Cancer research!! LET'S KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING! You go to firstgiving daht calm forward slash randypausch and you can join the wave of inspiration. Let's do something PHENOMENAL for this man's legacy and really make an impact in researching this insipid disease!
Life is life. You CANT avoid it. PERIOD! What ever you do, what ever interaction that you make with someone, something is happening called life. It is our being.
Just thought to bring you back to earth
No matter how much you achieve no matter how much you earn. And no matter how much you become "successful" in life. Death multiplies everything by zero. All that remains is the good we do to the creatures around us. One should strike a balance between ones wants and ones duties as a human being. It is death that finally convinced Randy to convince others. If it was not for death. man would be a want hungry animal. May God bless him in the next life.
RIP Dr Randy Pausch died at the age of 47 on July 25, 2008.
6miranda0 thanks for your perspective on telling someone else what there going through and how they are feeling, my perception through your comments is that you do this alot. I have experienced the passion for life of a terminally ill person and through this experience can atest that no one who is in this situation is more aware, some just play the hand differently than others. You've kind of shown your hand.
RIP
:(
good man
could anyone know the background music? especially the second one with the female voice. thank you!
At least he was able to be here for fathers day.
rip randy! i wont mind dying that young if i'm half as good as you!
For your information...he lived to see fathers day 2008. and he has a personal webpage, blog that he chooses to update and share. Google him and find it.
people like glocker9999 are the reason so many bad things happen in the world. why can't people look at a great man like Pausch for who he is, and for what his legacy to many people is? it takes a brave man, a determined man, and a true man to stand up and talk about life during the face of his own death. people who listen to what Pausch says are people who can look up at the sky and believe that they can do anything. for some people, this may not be true, but for others, Pausch is an idol.
10 fuking years! I can't believe 😣😣
hey I was just thinking about you !!
Amazing the hatred in this world... the have nots will always be bitter toward the haves... In the end, their hatred is self defeating. They have never accomplished a thing nor do they go out of their way to help others.. they simply bash others accomplishments and spew their venom. Pathetic really. God Bless Randy and his family. A great man who accomplished great things.
I can imagine a movie being made to reenact the last years of his life. A no brainer would be Jennifer Tilly in the role of Jai and Jim Carry playing him.
i hope your satisfied now, because randy has posted a new update.
gosh.
Does anyone know the song @ 1:24?
he's still alive.
no he hasn't passed away yet...i just looked him up on wikipedia and he's still alive
If you are talking about the Electronic Arts ALICE scholarship, it is actually one of Dr. Pausch's achievements in getting women more involved in Computer Science. If you look at the makeup of those departments, they are still overwhelmingly male.
GMA just announced that Mr. Pausch has passed away. RIP
If you want to give to the pancreatic action network - where he has a fundraising page set up (for research, all of it) you can go to firstgiving dot calm forward slash randypausch
I hope to see that fund grow and grow in honor of this man's memory and in hopes of helping others who don't even know they have pancreatic cancer yet!
RIP doctor
But it does matter. We all end up dead but our actions determine our relationships with people. If you come into this world and leave without making relationships then what is the purpose of your life.
Because they live more in their short lives than other people can in their entire life-times.
wow he passed away 2 months after this from pancreatic cancer. He didn't even look sick. so sad
rip
does anyone know if he is still alive?
Man you people need to chill out. Those comments are from TROLLS trying to get an emotional reaction and they are doing a great job.
Don't know about Pausch advise; as Jim Henson said, love & forgive 1 another, it's a wonderful, don't waste it....

How do you know this to be true? Can you steer me to your source or did you know him personally?
