There one thing that always go through my mind. Why Andalusia always reverse reconquista in many of my ck2 campaign.
My guess is that it was more likely that andalusia would conquer iberia instead of the christians, It just so happend that in our timeline the less likely side won.

Because the game is unable to replicate why the Cantabrian kingdom was able to defend against the onslaught of the Umayyads in the first place. They were unable to take it due to the mountainous terrain,
@The Nova renaissance let's also not forget that since they were in Europe they slowly turned more like Europe the further they got until they were easily converted.
The games have a difficult time simulating as to how the Christians in Northern Iberia were able to survive for so long. The mountainous terrain basically made it near impossible for the Muslims to conquer the region.
In the games, the more provinces you have the more men you can field. So the AI throwing thousands of troops against some Northern Christian nation with a few hundred isn’t an issue.

Malnourishment doesn't necessarily mean hunger. It could just mean eating food that's nutritionally poor. Idk if the game defines it as that though

Malnourishment usually happens in the game if the character is in prison. She was probably imprisoned by her own husband coz she got caught cheating on him or something.
"Italy's gone" It was probably just inheritance. East Francia, West Francia, Lotharingia and Italy are ruled by 4 brothers at the start. It's pretty common for those to consolidated on succession.

I just wanna say I caught your Spanish Inquisition joke at the beginning. I guess nobody else was expecting it.
Question: does it say they are indeed because they have at least one shared ancestor? Because at the start of the game, the ancestry has a limit to how far back it goes. But after you run it for a long time, every tree will eventually mix together. Our world don't have a detailed 3000+ year ancestry tree for every person. But if we did have, we're likely to be able to link up a lot of people.
If they're closely related, though I don't know how closely, they can create the trait inbred, which can be passed down

The dynasty tree's are probably what slow the game down.
Probably a good idea if they made the dynasty tree's refresh every 300 years, removing the dead characters that come before the current living characters from the tree.
Just think if the devs didn't put a cap on the number of children you can have. The cap is 15. But I think you can get a couple extra if there are twins
