Hi everyone,
This is a quick tutorial on how to use digital sewing patterns when you want to print them out.
There are several different printing settings most computers have: A4, US Letter, A5, A0 etc.
I prefer A4 and BORDERLESS…you will see why in the video.
Once you have printed out your digital sewing patterns they will become a (paper sewing pattern), which you more than likely will have to tape together. Once you tape all the paper/pages of the sewing pattern you will cut out each piece of the pattern. These individual pieces usually are the front/back/sleeve etc of your clothing item. From these paper pieces you will place fabric on each and cut your fabric according to the pattern pieces.
In this video/tutorial I use my own design, the MMC Anastasia Blazer Jacket sewing pattern. This pattern consists of 6 pieces, so in the video you will see 6 pieces on a huge sheet of 28 pages taped together.
Whether using this pattern or any other pattern, you’ll •print out the digital pattern to create a paper pattern and from this you will •tape the pages of paper together, •cut out individual pieces, •place fabric on each piece, and lastly, •sew the cut out fabric to •create your clothing item.
