  • Hey house lovers and explorers!
This video I have put together 3 homes that are all double story and all pretty huge homes!
Got to all of them just in the nick of time as the salvage crews had been there to start things of before demo but we still get a great look at the homes including real estate pics!
All homes were in different expensive suburbs being Torrens Park, Glenelg North and Fullarton.
Hope you all enjoy the good old fashion snoop around :-)
    Thanks for watching :-)

We are elderly couple from louisiana USA. We've been enjoying and thumbing up your videos for a couple years now. This was cool cause we finally got to see your face. We are fans. We do enjoy the abandoned homes in the country with artifacts and all better than the ones up for demo. Keep up the good work

Greed for more $$$ being made off those good old Aussie/Kiwi 1/4 acres.. now can get double townhouses on the lots .. Back to crowded living ..they g, away from in the 1900s when houses were side by side .. No backyard ..no trees.I now live in US and see this happening in the cities more and more ..

Really enjoy the pictures of the homes of what they looked liked when they were lived in and furnished. With all the homes getting demolished, their will be nothing but condo's there.

I grew up in Richardson Ave Glenelg north, no 16 to be precise. Thankfully the people who bought the house from my family transformed it from a 60's contemporary to a modern work of art. It has been sold again and I went to an open but it was almost unrecognisable but still standing 😊

Hello Paul thanks for another great video. I just fell in love with the third house the art deco one I love the celling they were lovely some of the nice one yet and that window seat it would have been a great place to sit and read a book or just watch time go by. Didn't think much of the second house it did nothing for me but the first one was ok but having a pool just out side of your back door would be wonderful. Paul will you have more videos of old country houses that are left to decay. Keep up the great videos love them all Anne

The second home looked nice in the photos but I did not like the style. the ocean view was nice. The third one had the art deco ceilings that I like. and other touches. Thank you for this great explorer, Be safe and stay well.

I am from the United States and I am enjoying every explore you do. The three homes you did, on Ayr Ave, Richardson Ave and Watson St, I really liked each one but, I must say that my favorite is the home on Ayr Ave. That addition was the best part of the house, but that kitchen was the best. I am one who loves to cook so yes indeed I would love to have that kitchen. In closing, it saddens me to see many of the beautiful historical homes in your country being destroyed in the name of progress. But, the place where I grew up, Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States, we have an area in the downtown area called Charpentier District. You buy a home from the 1800s to 1900s and you want to remodel, you have to follow very strict guidelines of the preservation society. Again, thank you for sharing and God bless you in your endeavors. Stay safe always.

Hi Paul, I really loved the first house as it was an awesome layout and the fake Federation style actually looking good, the previous owners updated it really well, I could have been in seventh heaven living there with pool and spa and granny flat for dear old Dad! The third one has/had lots of charm, but the older the houses the more structural damage appearing with cracks in walls as a result of foundations moving, and because Adelaide is built on a fault line with earthquakes, and we have had tremors on the point 6 or above on the ritcher scale, so no wonder these poor old lovely family history homes have seen their day. Loving your documentaries Paul, and I have been telling everyone to watch your show, even my landlord!! 😀🙏👌

The First home, or mansion, definitely had the Custom build feel about it, architect did a good job on the want list. Must have cost a Bomb to finish that one. The "Cape Cod "style is like finding a piece of America in a most unlikely place. Shades of " Mr. Blandings builds his Dream house" (1948) With Cary Grant , the old charmer. What an excellent job you did videoing these. Probably build a Chippy and a petrol station or, something just as bland. Cheers.

This phenomena is happening here in the States as well as Canada and that is: The movement of wealth into fewer hands as well as the disappearance of what was formerly known as the middle class. Soon the world will resemble Bangladesh India or any number of the poorest nations on Earth on a grand scale. Sorry to be a downer but you know it's true. The class that could have afforded places like these in the nineties is rapidly vanishing. Soon, no one (outside of the insanely wealthy) will be able to afford more than a 2 bedroom condo...and that's if they're some of the few fortunate ones!!

I literally cried watching , knowing that beautiful New ( old style ) home was being demolished . Not so bad bulldozing if homes are completely run down places but this was in perfect condition and looking new … What wastage …. I wonder if the original owners knew it would be bulldozed …. Tragic indeed … I even have a feeling my brother Timothy Kring did all the fancy paintwork / wallpapering in there and many others on the demolition list …Thankyou for at least keeping the memories of these homes alive with your videos Urbex Indigo …ps they also keep me motivated to walk on my treadmill every day 😊👩‍🎨

Why are these beautiful homes in this condition, were they just abandoned.

I really liked the first one. I don't like really big houses, but I would move in there. I liked all the details, like the tiles. The blue coloring thur out the house. The rosets. Second house was ok. I liked the glass blocks in the third house, with the flowers in it. I would take any one of this if given to me.

Only into the first home and sad to see the orange monster waiting to take its first bite! But knowing the beautiful flowers at these homes you video, and the majestic trees, and the different fruit trees are gone is also very sad. At one time a gardener loving nurtured them and now they are gone😭😡

This is occurring throughout Adelaides more prestige suburbs as families downside, properties prices rise, and developers offering unsubstantiated levels of payment for huge properties, ideal for establishment of strata titled units, with little or no thought for heritage values. In my suburb of Dulwich, and surrounding Norwood and Payneham, property sales and demolitions are occurring at a rapid rate. Not good. Another great explore Paul.👍👍🇭🇲

I would rather have this old beautiful house and give it the TLC it needs and fix up, rather than a new home.

I'm glad to see they are salvaging the good stuff. Why not the rosette above the lighting? Crown molding, tiles out of the bathroom? I wonder how much someone or two people get to save as much as they can per hour? They had wood flooring in the garage and what about the stained glass window, the built in the wardrobe cabinets? It just seems a shame to destroy such a lovely home huge hone. I liked him show the realities pictures they are so closs. So more roads going in instead of homes?

Not much else to say that hasn’t been said. I agree with you and everyone else that the first home was beautiful! It was a nicely done reproduction of the old style, but with modern, upscale finishes. The other two homes were nice as well, each in its way. The whole thing is a bit depressing, isn’t it? Thanks for documenting these, though.

I love this house , my style also , I had a two story house and put some old items in loved it , but I gave it to my daughter it is 38 hundred square feet , the steps got to much for me and my back , I move next door to my 2 bed room witch my father built in the early 1940 sort of a craftsman. That is a sad so beautiful.

They must have gotten a fortune for that first one, not to have sold it intact. It was sure quite a lot of home- but with the "dogboxes" right next to it, who would want to live there? I loved the 2nd one. It had the general idea of a Cape Cod, lacking the authenticity. It sure had the 60's-70's feel, though. It felt like home to me. The third one- well, it looked like a church, in some spaghetti western to me, lol, although, I'm quite sure the style has it's appeal to some. Great explore, Paul, thank you for taking the time, and finding the real estate pictures. I do love seeing the homes as they were intended. Stay safe and have a great Halloween, if you do anything, there- SDK

1st house ABSOLUTELY LOVELY even though it’s NOT MY STYLE I can see the charm plenty of people would find in it oh and awesome that you add pictures of what it was ..SO unfortunate that THIS and the one that is already demolished ended this way NOTHING was wrong from appearances with either TOTAL WASTE of resources to tear these down and MORE to build something in there place

When I eventually leave the US, and move overseas I want an old property with rock walls and stone floors. I can't wait to leave the US.
