For real. Collin was a small child the last time he had a relationship with his estranged siblings, and from interviews, it seems Kate poisoned whatever relationship they could have had. One of his sisters he hasn't talked to since he was 11, says Collins is evil, and she has no desire to talk to him. Like he was a small child at the time, give him a chance.
It’s crazy that they’re only 1/4 Asian. The Korean genes are strong.

I remember when I was a kid this was one of the most popular shows on TV at the time. I hope the siblings can all reunite one day. Its sad to see them all separated to this level because of the 15 year long quarrel between their parents
So as we can tell TLC played a major roll in a lot of this.
One child out of eight blames it on television. Who would have guessed that it`s the kids living with his daddy who couldn`t stop complaining. Jon was extremely jealous after he cheated on Kate and was forced to separate and kicked out of the show. He felt that if he wasn`t going to get any money neither were his children or ex wife!
@nogoodwolf I will be honest I wasn't big on the show. The documentary was pretty sad though. Can't remember much of it now. I did stop watching TLC though. I don't feel comfortable supporting kids being raised on reality shows like that. One way or another these children suffered & them being on reality TV didn't help unfortunately.
Jon your time will come. I wish you had more support from fam and friends. Keep your heart clean to deserve what’s coming.
I don`t support childish whiners! From the start Jon wanted pity. They were a family of 10 and daddy wanted all the attention and the pity.
Kate is a devouring mother. A devouring woman altogether.
If you are you make sure the kids have healthy relationships with both parents and all siblings. I think they both failed.

It’s funny too because a common theme with narcissists is their kids usually have strained relationships from feeling like they have to compete over mothers love and attention…. The whole golden child and scapegoat dynamic really turns siblings against eachother. What’s crazy is the black sheep is usually the one who just wants to be excepted and will do anything to have it, and the others just reject him for reasons made up by mom. Ugh. Triggered.
Hard to believe the kids are 19!! John has had two failed relationships since his divorce. I really thought the last one would last. He has left the door open if the kids want to contact him. Kate marches to the beat of a different drummer. But it looks like the majority of the kids turned out OK. The kids are adults now and I wish them the best.

I hope the siblings get to reunite if they want to. I lost two of my brothers through closed adoption, and one of them died. I live with my youngest brother, ironically named Jon, but only one of the brothers that I lost through closed adoption is legal age. I have 13 months until I can legally reach out to them. My older brother can reach out to me and my youngest brother now but hasn't, and I don't exactly blame him because I was about 3 at the time, which means he would have been only about 5. My other brother would've been 1, and my youngest brother wouldn't be born until the year after I was adopted. I might have been 3 at the time, but I have some memories, including the last time I saw them and realizing that they were never coming back- they had promised they'd see me the next day because they didn't know that they wouldn't. I'm going to find them, I just need to keep telling myself that it's just 13 months away. I think about them a lot and how they are now. I have lost many family members and I've helped a lot of people, including my friends, out of choosing to take their lives. It somewhat terrifies me that I know nothing about how they are right now or even what their names are or any information about them, because it's a closed adoption and I'm technically not allowed to have information. What I know is their first names, a couple of pictures of what they looked like from when they were maybe 8-9, and a general idea of where they live because my birth mom had that information for a while. I know the last names we shared at some point, although I have no clue if that'd help me with something like records. Its unlikely I'd be able to find them online, and I don't think I'm supposed to.
I really hope that you find your siblings. Yours is a sad and tough story, thank you for sharing it. Love, from one stranger to another.

Watch a show called "Long Lost Family" - both the hosts were adopted and they in turn try and hunt down parents and siblings from the adopted child. All have used Ancestry to try and find any family members.
You have a unique situation and I don't know if they are still filming or not, but it might give you ideas in how to find your family.
Please, think long and hard while in this process as it is not all rainbows and unicorns. Just prepare yourself emotionally and and seek therapy if you feel the need.
Don't want to be a downer, just to prepare yourself for any outcome. Go in with an open mind.

See Kate did what my mom did too my dad. My dad’s biggest fear was our mother running off with us kids. So instead she used us to hurt him.
1st she got him fired from his long term drivers position. How? She waited til he left out of town, then would get drunk and drive us to his depo screaming and acting a fool until his boss, would pull him off the road. After the 3 rd time they fired him. My dad didn’t return home for 4 years. During that time, our car was repossessed, and we lost our house. My mom always told us everything happened because of our dad. My sisters blamed him for not protecting’ us enough from her mental and physical abuse. For us being ‘poor’. My mom refused to work (even though she was very smart and capable!)
When I turned 18, I was complaining about my dad. He gave my graduation money too my mom I only received $200 of the $700 he gave her. All of it was to pay for everything for my senior year. I PAID for everything! When I asked her why I only received $200, she said “You better be lucky you got that. I got 4 other kids besides you. Wasn’t going to spend $700 on just you!” She (my mother’s mother) said “You don’t know everything, your father did all he could for you kids; your mother was just determined to make him suffer. You remember when your dad left right? Well did you know your father was sending your mother a child support check every 2 weeks?” I said “if that’s true why did we lose our house and car?” She said “Your grandfather questioned your dad when he called. Why did he call, he couldn’t understand why his checks weren’t going through. He sent enough for the mortgage, bills, and extra for the kids. So your granddad told him to send the checks too him. He called your mom when he got the checks, your mother took the checks and tore them up right in front of us. She was screaming “I don’t want his damn money, I want him here helping to raise these damn kids that he wanted.” I was floored, for YEARS I too had blamed my dad for how we were brought up. I watched many times the game my mom would play with my dad as well. He loved her, but couldn’t be with her without him losing his mind. I was able to forgive him, but not my siblings. It broke my heart knowing he passed without his other kids knowing the full story..

He was able to date, even dating his friend’s daughter which is gross but the thing about being a single parent with custodial rights of your children you kind of don’t want to bring people around your children that you don’t know… Not with all this happened in this world. You’ve got to protect the kids first. One thing about being a controlling mom, I think she was an overly protective mom, but at least she was protective. I’ve seen what happens when parents aren’t.
As a single mother of two boys, my kids didn’t want to contact their father is not me brainwashed them, it’s their father didn’t take his responsibility, left the city we living and chase his dream ( girls and business). I know how crazy it would be to look after 8 kids, Kate was not doing bad.
Jon never dated his friend's daughter, Kate wasn't an overly protective mother, she was abusive to Jon and their children.
Jon never left his kids he wanted to support and be in his children's lives. Kate wouldn't allow it and she told the family courts she didn't need Jon's child support and Kate refused to co-parent with Jon and Kate did bad as mother.
I hope Collin goes on to live a productive and fulfilled life, knowing who he is and being okay with who he is, inspite of his narcissist mother.

All the kids need to do is watch the show and compare it to either out daughtered or sweet home sextuplets and see how moms of multiples treat them.
It is obvious by the fact they don’t talk to Jon how much she has brainwashed them against him and siblings. What sets of multiple siblings cut contact with them unless the parent promotes and brain washings them.
Kate was terrible to Jon. I can only imagine by how she acted on camera and how much worse it was off camera. You can’t blame the show bc Kate was like that from the beginning. She was awful to Collin and Alexis second on her disliked children. Hannah was a favorite of Kate’s and proud of her that she left her mom. Hard to believe Kate tried so hard to have children and then treated them like the “help”.
What blew me away was the fact that they already had two they couldn’t support and decided to blow a bunch of money on IVF to become pregnant with SIX MORE BABIES when neither of them had a consistent/sustainable income. Personally, I find it extremely selfish to bring a child into this world when you have zero means of supporting them and you knew it while ACTIVELY attempting to get pregnant.
