    Just to add regarding the LAN connection: for the V2 version, you can still connect to the LAN, but you need a LAN-to-USB adapter. You can buy one for a cheap price online.

    The OLED screen becomes color inaccurate when you turn the brightness down and it has a strange grainy/static in grey areas. Not much of an upgrade in my opinion. Alot of OLED Switches also have a problem with the screen being more dim on one side vs the other side of the screen with a dim strip along one edge.

    • @peite7878
      @peite7878 Před 7 měsíci +3

      That sucks!
      If you have the chance of trying it before you buy or laws allowing exchange of products I would do that.
      At least the normal Switch’s display has color differences (more green, more red, morr blue) so the quality on these things are not as good as you might think.
      Another way is to buy a pre-owned Switch and ask the seller before deciding on buying it whether they have noticed any screen defects as you and others mentioned.
      Pre-owned things can be less of a loss as long as it has no defects

    • @TheGamerGuy1981
      @TheGamerGuy1981 Před 5 měsíci +3

      Honestly have not experienced this at all, I have seen some report it though due to variance in the displays (much like the IPS fiasco with the 3ds) as someone else mentioned best to buy it in a place with a good return policy. As a good one (which is most) makes the basic switch look like a screen from a $99 On Walmart branded tablet.

    The switch OLED actually lasts longer than the normal switch. Sure the battery is the same, but a OLED screen is much more power efficient.

    • @awwk8452
      @awwk8452 Před rokem +10

      While the power efficiency is true, the Nintendo OLED switch runs at a much higher contrast ratio, with more rich colors and actual black colors instead of turning the pixels off. These things lower the battery life to about the same as the regular. The OLED also tends to run at a higher brightness than the regular switch, further bringing the battery life down

    I just traded in my regular switch for the OLED version and while the internals don't make much difference, boy I was amazed at how much better a device this is externally. First, it feels way sturdier, and now feels like one whole solid device instead of 3 separate pieces wiggling about trying to become one (yes I know they are still 3 separate pieces, but you get the drift - pun intended loll), And that screen, just looking at them side by side, it just makes the games look better in real world use. The LCD on the regular switch always annoyed me as there is an air gap in between the touch display and actual screen, whereas for OLED, it actually feels like Im touching the content since the screen is much closer to the display. I don't think this issue of air gap in LCD vs no air gap in OLED is talked about enough when making comparisons. Overall, I am re-discovering my enjoyment of the Switch games now, no regrets on the trade in!

      Glad I'm not getting OLED. I don't like the too bright OLED screen, some games like Xenoblade looks less sharper, and there's a lot of OLED's with green tint screen issues. Also I hate ANY chance of burn in. I don't care if someone only got burn in after leaving it on 1600 hours, some got it even staying on a single screen for 5 hours. I'm getting a jailbroken V2 Switch later this month. Also I've gotten used to small screens like PSP and 3DS XL. I tried out my friend's V2 and it's great. I like 0% risk of burn in on the V2 and it's lighter. I tried out the V2 and after a while my wrist were tired, I play 99% of the time handheld and OLED would be slightly heavier than V2 and my wrist would get tired more quickly. Also OLED is more expensive

Bigger screen is better, plus the more improved RGB value makes games look sharper. Oled has better speakers, stand, more space and so fourth. Regarding burn in? Don’t keep it on if you’re not using it, simple, Nintendo even has a built in burn in reduction, it basically forces your brightness down if you’re not using it. Oled has a $50 difference. Sure, but it’s still better than the OG Nintendo switch. If you upgrade you’ll love it more and you can even sell ur original Nintendo for extra profit

    The PPI of the Switch OLED is 209.8.
    Devices should have a lower PPI than a handheld device because it's further from your eyes. This is why and top-of-the line OLED 4K TVs have PPIs in the 100s, MacBooks have a PPI in the 200s, and iPhones have a PPI in the 400s.
    The iPhone 4 had a PPI in the 300s, and that was released in 2010! No excuse for Nintendo releasing a 2021 flagship handheld device with a PPI of 210.

      That’s your choice. If you can sell your original switch for a profit to make up with the $50 cash difference then I’d suggest doing so. If your oled arrives, transfer your data from the original switch to the OLED, because most people would want a clean Nintendo switch

  • @EngineMusic

    I don’t plan on playing the switch as a handheld, because I usually get really bad headaches when playing on portable consoles.
    From what I see here, it might just be the better, and more cost effective option to get the classic switch.

      Me personally I think the oled is way better than the regular Nintendo switch. The oled has way more starting storage bigger screen and better quality, overall you should get the oled version and it comes in two Color’s the regular White one and the classic blue and red.

    Here's my argument:
    If its oled vs v2 get the oled
    If its the v2 vs Mario edition v2 get the Mario version why this choice? Well idk for people who think its nice to GWT a full body switch and case for the same prise of a regular v2 back when the oled didn't exist?? Why now? Umm probably because its cool and don't mins the smaller screen?

  • @peite7878
    @peite7878 Před 7 měsíci

    Doesn’t the OLED have more efficient and faster APU chip called Mariko also, which gives it slightly better framerate?
    Edit: Ok V2 and OLED has same APU but the materials in OLED gives it better cooling so it might run a tiny bit better. Avoid getting V1 Switch which has slower APU and the thermal paste mught be dryed up and need replacement to not get large framerate dips in heavier games.

    Bro doesnt know what MONEY is...
    no ones going to spend extra 50 for a screen difference you wont see , also if you want better sound , just use headphones .
    also you can get cheap lan adaptors to usb online so 50 more for things that are easy to fix on regular isnt really a good offer.
