In this video I want to share with you some of the personal experiences I've had with the Tab S8 Ultra after around 4.5 months of daily use, and share some insight on whether or not this tablet is worth considering. Hi,
      Can you pls tell me if it uses gorilla 5/6 or invictus+ screenglass, and does it have a fabric screenfoil on it, meaning only a foil on it, not a aftermarket screenprotector?(like for example galaxy s21 ultra and s22 ultra has it)
      Not sure of it, so i know if i can removed or not, for placing a spigen ez fit 9h screenprotector.
      Thnx in advance

    They should add a feature similar to laptops where when youre plugged into the wall, you should be allowed to choose if you would like to either charge the battery or just run on wall power alone. That would be a game changer!

      Lenovo's already do that, actually. They have an option to limit battery to 50% when on charger and use the mains power instead.

    • @astaproxima4074
      @astaproxima4074 Před rokem +16

      You can limit the charging to 85 % and it'll basically cut off. Not the perfect solution, but it preserves the battery.

    • @astralmirage6353
      @astralmirage6353 Před rokem +18

      @@3DimensionalCanadian Yes but the point of this feature is not that. If you had the option to not charge the battery while youre plugged into the wall, it greatly reduces battery degradation due to overcharge or even by reducing the amount of charge cycles the battery has to endure. So basically if your battery is at 100%, the VCM doesnt need to work overtime to not charge the battery beyond 100% and instead, your battery stays at 100% while you run off of wall power.

    Got this pre-ordered and received the keyboard case for free. Been using it since 2022-04 and I can only say this is just awesome.
    Comes in very handy when you have a laptop and want more screen real estate and this thing will just blend in like an external screen.
    Things I like to see for the next iteration:
    - The current screen either runs at 120Hz or 60Hz. Tab S9 Ultra best to have a variable refresh-rate to squeeze more battery life.
    - The notch is not annoying if anything it helps to know the orientation of the tablet but, I would still like it to go away.
    - Make it slightly thicker or implement better cooling. The tablet throttles once it reaches 40C, keep in mind even when throttled it is gets good frame rate but going from 120 fps in some games down to 55 is a nagging we can make with such price tag.
    - There are some nice features Samsung has baked into their ecosystem between their laptops and tablets, it would nice to give away to other Windows users. (We can only hope)

      I recommend using Bixby routines to set the refresh rate to 60Hz in apps you don't need 120Hz like CZcams or Netflix. This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. czcams.com/users/postUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

I've been using mine for college and it performs well with emulating especially with GameCube and a good amount of PS2 games. Having some cross play games like Minecraft and Fortnite for example also makes it a good secondary option to play these games as they run well on the go. Dex truly made researching and writing papers a much easier experience and everything with the tablet feels snappy and quick. My last tablet was the S4 and after finally upgrading, it was worth the wait and I can see myself using this for multiple years as well.

      @@karangupta2329 It'll boil down to preference as both would do the job for college. You seem to be familiar with Apple's ecosystem so getting a MacBook would probably make more sense especially if you own other apple products. If you don't mind the ecosystem then the S8 would be a valuable choice for note taking and writing papers if needed. The display is probably the best display you could get out of any tablet and even laptops and it can read PDFs just fine. The 120hz screen also makes everything you do feel smooth and it'll be hard to adjust going back to 60hz. The battery life is also impressive as I can work on the tablet writing papers and doing research for 8 hours on a charge. The Galaxy Tab has been wonderful with my college needs so from my experience I can highly recommend it as long as you don't mind using Android instead of MacOS.

    The trade in values are interesting like I trade in a ipad air 2 for the Samsung S7 FE for $117 and then trade in the Samsung S7 FE for the Tab S8 ultra for $430ish lol And the buds are somehow not the pros but the lives at first and then it switched to the half buds live and half buds 2. The trade in for the Tab S6 is somehow less than the S7 FE although probably due through age but paid a lot less for the FE lol

    Big downfall is that you can not run more than one thing at a time through a hub on it. Massive let down so transferring files becomes an issue.

    Do you think the upcoming Google Pixel tablet would even hold a candle to Samsungs tablet lineup? Google themselves quietly bandoned the tablet market but Samsung never did, and they've been refining and improving everything they could in that time. I'd like to hope the Pixel tablet would be better than Samsungs offerings but it seems pretty unlikely

    Had mine the same time. I use it mainly as a media and retro gaming station and it rarely moves much. I find it too big and heavy and wish I purchased the smaller OLED version. I use my iPad for portable use, since lighter and more practical. Still like it, but it's too darn big for an Android tablet. I also do not use the keyboard it came free with. Adds more weight and size. I use a simple folding case instead.

    I'm a bit underwhelmed with mine. I feel like it's overpowered for what it offers (aside from gaming). I'd love to have a photo and video editor built for larger screens but as we don't currently have that, I tend to be using my phone and rarely use my tablet. I also struggle with the keyboard, it's bendy and using it on my lap the flexibility causes the trackpad to click which makes typing a bit of a struggle.

    • @OldeDog_NewTricks
      @OldeDog_NewTricks Před rokem +3

      @@Gamer-vs3xlwell tablet gaming is a while different category. It’s basically mobile gaming with a larger screen advantage. That’s the only reason to talk about gaming on a tablet. Obviously pc gaming is better on a gaming system, but you won’t be able to properly play mobile games, and of games can’t be played on a tablet so no pint in comparing the two.
