Dear Balaji, I tried your recipe. The best hit is the soup. Normally in China soups are prepared with oil. After my Chinese wife took a sip of the soup she had two three bowls of soup. She mentioned it's more like a Japanese soups. My two years old son will not eat any vegetables but to our surprise he tasted your cabbage recipe 😋 and he enjoyed. Because the main reason is it doesn't contain any powder or flavors. I didn't add coconut because it's not easy to get it in China. The recipe is simple to prepare 😉. Thanks a lot!
Hi, For the first time I tried this recipe today for lunch by boiling it and then adding the boiled cabbage to the temper. I have always done the reverse way, but your method is very easy to follow, the color of the cabbage also doesn't change when cooked and when we bite the cabbage it gives a crisp bite which is perfectly cooked. I have always wanted to make like this. Looks beautiful.! Cabbage is actually a salad vegetable and can be eaten raw. It should never be overcooked. This *blanching* method ensures an optimal cooking, making it crunchy and tasty. As rightly pointed out, the water contains a lot of the nutrition and therefore should be consumed with a pinch of pepper, or added to any soup of the day.
