Today we are going full send on the G87 M2!! We are slowly but surely making this car better and today we cut into it... FOR SCIENCE! We can't do big aero on this car, but we can do smaller things, such as this Versus Engineering hood vent. This is going to help reduce heat in the engine bay and also release unwanted pressure, creating downforce!

Hey Dut, I would definitely either ppf, ceramic coat or have a paint shop clear that carbon vent, especially with all the heat that’s traveling through it, it’ll fade horribly and look terrible in 6-8 months of sunlight and heat cycles. Looks sick though, definitely changes the look.
Congrats on the 800k!! Inching closer and closer to that million to finally be able to get a hako! I wish they would have gave me a godzilla cup at my theater, I got a Kong version and I also did not get as cool of a popcorn bucket as you but its still cool memorabilia

My favorite car is the 911, i just love old pcars. Also, I don't think I would have the guts to cut a new car's hood like that unless I did it a second hood... looks dope though.
I was worried. Because it was not glued to the hood, but only to the foil that is on it. and, since the bonnet consists of an outer and an inner plate, it is possible that the plate will wobble at higher speeds. I hope I'm not right!

Someone should make a vent that works with the bracing of the hood. Like a split vent. It would have still looked pretty sick with the 2 triangle vents. 🤔

would having the engine cover off help with cooling issues/downforce at the track ?
You should check out Speed Engineering from Germany, they have brake cooling ducks for the M2 and are in the process of developing other parts to increase the performance on the track

Heat management and aerodynamics … hood vents are one of the absolute best mods you can put on a car - also what I’d do is put thermal tape under the adhesive on the other side of the hood to keep the adhesive from ever liquifying and lifting the vent since there’s no hardware keeping it on

I would have left the inner skin on as it had vents and would have protected anything from falling into the engine bay through that vent.
