Mine arrives Monday! Your video helped me decide to try it!
I think you'll love it. It's killer for light, slicey work.
CEO have flipper now too. I have both and GP035 is sweet. Mine is perfect. But I love my CEO too
Thankyou for your M390 - GP035 knife. I appreciate the shirt pocket design. I carry a blade every day but don't want a bulging lump on my belt or pocket when dressed up. Being an engineer, I frequently have pens or pencils in breast pocket and the GP035 fits right in. You may want to add a bit of Lock-Tite blue to the pivot threads. My blade loosened quite quickly and became hard to close. A drop of blue solved the problem. Licked it so much I bought one for a friend.
I'm happy to hear you bought the knife on my recommendation! Thanks for the comment.
Bought a Boker kaizen s35vn this week, might have got this one instead if i knew about it.
I just received my gp035 in the mail with the crushed carbon handles and black tanto blade. this knife is just what i wanted and at a nice price. it came acceptably sharp and sliced through leftover Christmas boxes with no problem. this wil be a nice knife for light duty cutting. its super small and lighter than alot of high end pens. you forget its in your pocket. i may get another with the other carbon handle and blade style just to use as an eating knife.
They're pretty awesome for the money.
The videos are still looking amazing. (This is scott BTW, on alt account)
Thanks! I tried to make it pretty even without the outdoor shots.
Yeah my fear with this knife is it really M390 and can you touch the blade when its closed
I did edge and corrosion testing on mine and it preformed on par with my 20 dollar Kershaw Chill in 8cr13mov...yes it rusts easy...
Yeah I'm good with my ceo flipper, I like the confidence knowing it won't fall apart and I can just sharpen it. The regular flipper material is very nice and looks more elegant than this
They need to use better steel on the ceo blades@@davidzshit
Good video
Thank you!
And I gave you a thumbs up for entertainment
I would like to see a review of knife sharpeners. Then a video of how to properly sharpen a knife.
I've already done a tutorial for the Lansky sharpening set, but this is something I will definitely do in the future. I think I'm going to try Worksharp next.
the QSP Penguin was an Amazon knife for $35 I was like nah.. that’s gonna suck.
It didn’t. Some of the best steel and micarta out of China regardless of price. I’ve gifted three now.
This beats a CEO but that’s good.. for us consumers at least.
The Penguin is great. I got it because of the weird Jean micarta and the strange blade shape but it's an awesome little flipper.
Just so you know, Amazon sells high quality blades too, I mean, I wouldn't call KA-BAR made in the US a John Ek Commando knife (EK 44) a cheap Amazon knife. I trust my 1095 Cro-Van, nicely heat treated, carbon steel to anything out there. Amazon sells Spyderco, US Made Kershaw's, Zero Tolerance, and high end Made in China blades like Two Sun. The sky's the limit on Amazon.
When I'm talking about Amazon junk, I'm referring to the cheapest of cheap Tiger/Mtech USA knives. There are plenty of reputable brands selling on Amazon. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
@@CuttingEdgeAction no worries
Would make a great cheese and salami knife.
Definitely.
You say the blade might break with just cardboard? Probably not great for self defense stabbing
It's definitely not built for self defense. You could use it in a pinch but the stock isn't thick enough to handle any leverage resulting from an off-angle stab or slice.
Definitely not for self defense but i bought 3 so me and some buddys could torture test them . Just over 40 stabs into boxing mannequin nothing broke just needed to be tightened up. 16 straight down strikes into a block of ice before liner lock failure occurred. We did these "tests" with the carbon fiber handle version.
still thinking about getting it
Go for it. It's a great piece for lighter work.
@@CuttingEdgeAction ill keep that in mind thanks
Hopefully you chose the CEO flipper, way better knife that is sharp but you can sharpen it to be razor sharp
@@davidzshit oh yeah i think i just stumbled upon that recently as well, might as well get that too
@@kingleonidas2683 It's a lot classier in my opinion and more reliable, easy to clean and oil up
So not really sure what what you are saying ceo crkt is half the price, but this knife is better, but your paying for the upgrade 😅,so wear are we at.
The carbon fiber CEO is $100.
@@CuttingEdgeAction not sure why carbon is cheaper, softer?
