So, I think two platonic people are those two people who on no occasion would end up kissing. Maybe it's not a really good definition, but Mulder and Scully are definitely not platonic. Every time they look into each other's eyes, it seams like they're about to kiss. And then, season 7 episode "Millenium" they kiss. Two platonic people wouldn't, right?
I feel like they’re relationship is that they can never be more than what they are and that they’ll never be 100% happy with someone else that’s why their relationship is so interesting cause it’s so different. It’s a kinda love that really doesn’t or hasn’t been seen before so it’s hard to understand in a way that people normally define a romantic relationship. In a way theyre romantically involved but also they’re not, it’s weird, just like the show, kind of hard to comprehend but still this experience to witness
You're not attracted to knuckle dragging neanderthals are you? If so, gimmie a call. I got everything Mulder got, except a place to bathe. The lake I used to get cleaned up in has become polluted. But I'm still a very good catch. If you love Mulder, then you will absolutely adore me. Thanks
I forgot all about this scene. I have to do a marathon watch of all the episodes again because this scene... the looks were just everything! Like when he wiped away the sauce, I didn't think anything of it as a teen when this first aired but looking at it now as an adult, that look she gives him speaks volumes!
This is fucking gold. One an iconic scene, I could be having the worst day and this fixes everything. God damn Scully is so fucking hot. So many years of obsessing over this show. Never gets old,
I didn't know that, thanks! Yes, David has made many important additions/alterations. Did you know he wrote the, 'touchstone,' dialogue as CC originally had the end being Mulder sitting in his apartment crying about Fowley?!
He knows what's like to be made fun of and belittled. Remember the scene in Squeeze where he tells her "sometimes the need to mess with their heads outweighs the millstone of humiliation." He's picked on all the time because of his beliefs, no different from the folks at the "Red Museum". The only one who stands by him is his Scully. This is a great scene and displays the intensity they share.
She also described the chemistry between her and duchovny.... She said that, just holding hands with him, was like making love. I beg to differ, but whatever melts your butter LOL
Thank you for this. The early seasons were the best. Before they got tired of doing the show, as the end of Season 4 is One of the signs already. I forgot about this scene. Or i am not sure about seeing it at all in the DVDs.
Yes, look how platonic and not at all 2 people in love this is. Really? you put scenes in like this with the oh you have something on your mouth, let me get that for you, oh thank you kind sir, proceed with the eye sex as we discuss the case we're on. Carter must have been on another planet with his delusions that these 2 were just platonic. But then again this is the same Carter who put the Scully disrobe scene in the hotel room in the pilot episode specifically to show that these 2 would only ever be partners, so yes Carter was delusional, not only to how scenes like this would be interpreted but to the crazy sexual tension that leaks off the screen when these 2 are together. This is a classic example of an author losing control of his creations. He writes them as platonic but the level of chemistry the actors have completely over rides him. It's like the characters have a mind of their own.
I don't believe he really wrote them as platonic, although it's what he keeps saying. If it was true, why writing scenes as the one you mentioned, from the pilot? It doesn't make sense. Nobody would think they would be more than friends if the show didn't have so many hints and flirting scenes. I think Carter's intention was playing with the audience.
Love how they never addressed the "little wife" comment. You know they heard it especially Mulder I guess wiping the sauce off her mouth and her making bedroom eyes at him counts as marriage to them. If it weren't CC and if it were a little later in the series (oh, how you wish upon a star) Mulder could have leaned over and licked that sauce off.....just sayin'
Scully also fell in love with Mulder, she was just afraid to let her guard down, eventually she could no longer fight her own feelings for him and they became a couple. *Sorry for my bad english, it's not my native language*
Remember kids, Mulder reaching over to wipe Scully's mouth was not just patronizing, but infantilizing. And today it would be considered "sexual harassment' and the "bad touch." So, unless you're rich, or very handsome, do not do that.
The way she looks at him after he reaches over is perfection. They are so into each other.
Truly because if your platonic co worker did that it would be incredibly uncomfortable
She gives serious "f*** me" eyes!!
Season 2 was the season of FLIRTING
I think there were flirting in every season 😁

Seriously? How could chris carter think this relationship was platonic. Come on!!!!
that's why you keep watching
You know Plato used to sleep with men, right? Platonic love doesn't mean you can't smash

Scully is so irresistible, that fiery red hair, those diamond eyes and those lips.
Mulder is pretty irresistible to me...... 💜

Everyone, regardless of gender has simped for Scully at some point.
i can verify this fact
has? I'd say does.....
Truth.😊
I never noticed before, in a low whisper almost, as she gazes back at him, she says "Thanks" 😯
Then it cuts back to Fox ' i do not gaze at Scully' Mulder GAZING at Scully. :D

Why is nobody talking about the fact that Scully went to eat ribs in a white suit and did not get a single stain on it?
bc we're too busy talking about all the other parts of her looks and personailty which also contribute to her sheer perfection as a human being
Hey, she's the queen, besides she takes precaution and wears the bib....so damn sexy.
It's Scully, the sauce wouldn't dare fall on one of her tailored suits.
Lmao the little "clays" bib makes me laugh every time🤣🤣🤣

Great video, thanks. I love how Mulder always stands up for people who are bullied.

Este capítulo me gusta mucho, empieza como un simple expediente x y termina siendo parte de la mitología.
all the love for Scully in the comments and don't get me wrong, i agree. But Mulder is a FOX. one of my first crushes.
