Who else remembers being scared shitless the first time they fought the imprisoned
And then being just straight up annoyed when he shows up another two times
Yep I remember that
Oh my God I know, this thing was beyond annoying
My sister remembers when she played the Wii version. The imprisoned annoyed her.
yeah, that thing just didn't take the hint of staying down.
@@pauljordan0203 Neither did Ghirahim.
I've got to be honest, without Groose and his Groosenator here, I can't finish the second and third battles. That was the moment I get to appreciate Groose.
Have you learned of the adventure of Groose? Edit: I am an idiot. Who the f is Groove?
I believe the 2nd battle is possible to do without using Groose (not easy tho), but you litteraly can't win the 3rd one without Groose since the Imprisoned is flying and only Groose can knock him down. So technically the game forces you to use his machine.
This MUST have been designed to be as stressful as possible.
1 When you knock him down, he starts swimming on the surface like a damn snake, increasing his speed. This gives you a sense that every victory is a setback.
2 The music straight-up sounds like a rising force of evil.
3 His foot-steps increase in pace every time you hit his nail back into his head. Even if you can't see him, you can HEAR him moving more quickly
4 There's a progress bar on the left side reminding you how close to being screwed you are
5 He can climb the damn walls, which is a HUGE shortcut.
6 There is a BIG cooldown while Groose reloads the cannon.
7 He blocks the air lifts, which means you cannot go to the upper levels while near him, MEANING you have to leave him, putting him out of sight. Things that are out of sight are inherently more scary. Have you ever been trying to keep track of a bug, a spider or cockroach, and you only look away for a moment and then it's gone?
8 It's a HUGE arena. Vertically AND horizontally. There is sooo much running to do, and the airlifts seem to take forever.
9 If you miss your jump onto his head, or if he knocks you off prematurely like at 5:38, it's a HUGE loss of time.
10 On the theme mentioned in #1 (every victory is a setback), the third encounter is the worst. When you knock him out of the air, you see that he lands at the bottom of the pit. A huge relief, at first. The game forces you to meet him down there, to hit his nail from the ground. Then, horrifically, when he goes airborne again and Groose says he cannot fire bombs anymore, you realize you now you have to race him--FROM THE BOTTOM--to the TOP.
I mean, it's INCREDIBLY well-designed. It's extremely memorable and intense. But the last time I played this, I failed on the 2nd encounter, and I was literally screaming with anxiety. I had to take a break, I was so startled.
Really fantastic boss.
Nintendo puts a lot of time and thought into all of their bosses, JUST WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE HIM AN AVOCADO
Ignoring the facts that to beat it, you need to smack its toenails?
The fear and tension you feel when it gets closer to the end, is the fear that you will have to start this whole lame, slow boring Sh*tshow of a boss fight again
For the first fight, I didn't understand why people hated the Imprisoned so much, but I quickly understood once I got to the second fight.
Not to me. :)
the imprisoned is purposely designed to be as stress inducing as humanly possible i feel
That awkward moment when you didn’t realize you can just jump on its head and hit the stake, when you spent how many attempts chopping the toes 🤧🤧
... What???
To be honest I never thought of trying to jump from above to to put the seal back in I always just attacked his weird toes
Me too
you can do that?
@@XxSoniaxX attack his toes ???
Everyone does that it looks like XD
Is it possible to beat him that way?
I’ve been severely struggling with the imprisoned boss fights in Lanayru’s trials, thank you. This will help.
Thank God for this walkthrough, I died cutting off his toes and not knowing how to drive the stake into his head on the ground, this was a total lifesaver.
If the Demon King can evolve even when Imprisoned, imagine if the DK of the present time was the one revived by Ghirahim and not the past one. Like if the Triforce didn't destroy him in the present timeline and stuff.
Then that timeline is absolutely screwed.
What's also confusing is you already killed demise in the present by crushing him so then you have to kill him twice by going to the past
We’d all be banana slamma’d.
Donkey Kong?
Honestly I never understood why people hated the imprisoned. Yeah you fight him three times, but you fight Yuga three times in ALBW yet no one gives Yuga shit for that.
I agree they should have merged the second and third fight to make a more epic fight since they both aren’t paced as well in terms of being too close.
But overall mechanics and boss fight it’s a solid boss fight!
The part in the third fight when u cannon yourself is stressful
If only present Demise was revived instead of past
i wish there was a boss fight where you fight its insides, like nintendo had balls to do something like that in ocarina of time, but here, you just gently remove its toes and head
I went for his toes like a peasant before watching this video! Thanks for the awesome tips!
The avocado
egg
Looks like guacamole now.
🎁 an avocado!! thanks :D
Why he looks like an among us
Straight up PTSD
The first fight was eh, the 3rd was actually kinda fun, but THE SECOND FIGHT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS.
How do you make that attack in the third phase? I can't do any damage :'c
What's happening if the Imprisioned came to the temple?
Game over.
I think imprisoned takes over and destroys the world
its a pretty cool cutsene
Being screwed + game over
Not sure about the first fight, but the second fight, he breaks the tracks that Groove built, the Old Lady basically says the world is over, and you start over lol.
Even tho it took me like 10 times to beat the #3 imprisoned, this video makes me wanna replay SS
I know! I’ve been playing SS four times already.
i saw some cool groose animations as me and groose watched the world burn
The music terrified me so much when I was younger, and I never beat the game past the first stage because I'd legit get nightmares from it.
Happy to report I've beaten the game and it's my favorite Zelda, and I do enjoy the Imprisoned fight--despite being annoyed every now and then.
I was doing a deathless run and the third time I had to beat this boss I catapulted myself like 2 inches off and had to run back all the way up. I, somehow still manage to kill him and continue the run 🎉.
Dude careful 🙏
To think I eventually pulled all of these fights no damage on the Wii version still was huge though.
Jesus that thing looks like a Langolier on steroids!!!!
Wow he really is just a red avocado lol
14:08 hear me out.
No, I don't think i will
i love the concept of the imprisoned and the theme is cool af, but man this boss fight is awful in the best ways. this feels intentionally designed to be the most stressful experience in a video game
Anybody else think he's got cute lil toes cute lil beans
So cute
is it just me or is imprisoned faster on the hd version?
Probably just looks faster with the improved graphics
Spoiler warning for tears of the kingdom............
I have a theory, more of a head canon, that the imprisoned, or Demise, was actually locked away in what we call the depths in tears of the kingdom. The depths had to have existed during this point in time, because it takes millions of years for caves to form. I would also go so far as to say that Demise originated in the same area we fought Ganondorf in in tears of the kingdom.
What's your thoughts on this?
I actually really like the idea
Not true because the actual game gives you the lore and the hyrule kingdom didn't exist nor zonai were mentioned
I hate this boss fight so much. Skyward sword is so far away from being my favorite Zelda game. So far I only played it once. 😅
To me, it is the single worst. Very, very few things about its flimsy plot, underdeveloped characters or inconsistent art direction speak to me. It was clearly rushed for the anniversary.
this is one of the worst bosses in gaming history
Uh I don’t know about that one buddy…
Among us monster
Nice try.
I'm gonna be honest this game is kinda boring and it controls like shlt
