I don't think Sweden has ever called itself pacifist.

I'm not sure that the BVR capabilities of Gripen are as poor as you make them out to be.
With its ability to fire long-range air to air missiles (notably the Meteor) and advanced sensors and radar it should actually be quite good.
It's not a true stealth fighter, but its small radar cross section and advanced EW capabilities makes it hard to detect.
One should also note that the new E variant (in addition to upgrades in avionics, radar, sensors etc.) also has a stronger engine which allows heavier payloads, additional hard points as well as supercruising.

So this brief was basically obsolete when it was first published, since Sweden decided to apply for NATO membership on 16 May 2022 and as of March 7 2024 has completed the accession process.

I really don't get why people listen to podcasts out of CZcams. Some network effect, but I don't like Spotify a bit.

I always appreciate Samo Burja's reports. One of the Duran associates, Reg?, an American in Crimea who's channel is now gone, interviewed an elder Swedish activist called Agneta Norberg.
She was very dismayed at the high level of Russophobic and pro-Nxzi indoctrination occuring in Swedish systems. Her granddaughter was a cadet police officer and was deathly afraid of Russian invaders and spies despite there being no evidence of malice from Russia, yet an abundance of interference from the UK (see the Assange case) and USA.

There have not been any pro nazi in goverment since the second world war, Swedens "fear" of Russia is well founded they have been testning swedens border both in air and water since the 50's just a few weeks ago Russia had military exercise based on sending bombers toward sweden and flew towards the Island of Gotland.
