Lord Frost, Camilla, Kamal and Craig Oliver analyse Keir Starmer’s Europe challenge | The Daily T

  • Sir Keir Starmer said his Labour Government will “never” take the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights as he criticised the Tories’ now-scrapped Rwanda plan.
The Prime Minister told the European Political Community summit: “We are resetting our approach here. This Government will not commit taxpayer money to gimmicks. We are here to serve our country in the national interest, in pursuit of solutions that will actually deliver results.
“More than that we will approach this issue with humanity and with a profound respect for international law.

Brexit has been made difficult by British and European politicians cos it doesnt suit their narrative. Europe didnt want us to leave because we were one of the only 3 countries that helped to bail out countries in financial difficulties. What we should have said was, from next Monday we are out and we will be paying no more money cos we are out but no, that was too simple for our politicians.

Of course, the EU hegemonic nations were always going to throw any spanners possible into the works...aided & abetted by the self-hating UK left-wing loon activists who are rather partial to being controlled by a centralised authoritarian regime.
I voted 'Remain' due to owning a villa in Camposol at the time. I sold it in 2022 due to EU property rights worries as a Brit. But I had no problem with the vote...unlike the pathological "Remoaners" who are still obsessed 8 years later. 🤣

Of course, it will have its limitations and constrictions for agreements around the world, but I do think it's better than being completely shackled with nothing but MEP representation under a continental overseer. The whole Brexit argument about 'looking beyond Europe' has been thoroughly exploded by current geopolitics. The Labour Party shed millions of Corbynistas from its ranks. Those people were a huge and very active part of the party's human resource. They also hermeraged a very larger number of muslims who were formally staunch Labour voters. There's a lesson in there for the Tory Party. It doesn't have to play to the right in order to return to power. In fact doing so only opens the door for it to become a useful conduit in Putin's hybrid war. DON'T DO IT.

Brexit, succeeded. It did what is was always meant to do. It boosted the UK sovereignty, at the cost of trashing the economy by breaking free trade with out largest and closest trading partner. This, is what was always going, to happen. With skilful politicians, Brexit could be an amazing benefit. However, the possible upside of brilliant politicians getting more freedom, is less likely then the downsides of, damaged trade with our biggest trade partner. As seen since Brexit. No politician has worked out how to replace the lost money from free trade, let alone, make more than that would now be making, if we were still a part of the EU. Which is why Brexit was always a bad idea. We lack the intelligent and wise population needed, to make the most of the sovereignty given by Brexit, since that would require asking the people of today, on mass, to sacrifice now, for the possible benefit of those to come in 20, 30, 40 years time.
