What kind of springs or shocks do the rear wheels have to prevent metal fatigue from hard landings? I notice that other STOLs seem to have some kind of spring or suspension system.
Nice video. I still dig the 701. I know the 750 is the new darling but a light weight 701 is the way to fly in my opinion.

Can you do a video on "how to install a camera on the wing". I'm currently taking my PPL and it would be nice to take videos. I fly over a city so I really need to make sure that the camera doesn't fall.

I see no fault with the video thanks for posting. Nice syncopted drum and crisp acoustic guitar, Dw, Base, Final one turn, good practice for tight airstrips. Forty five degree bank at speed well within STOL capability. If one does not like then do not watch.
701 is a brilliant design, just keep the weight down when building. Otherwise , not enough useful load

I've wondered a time or two how long the wheels kept spinning after you take off. I never would have thought you could take off in a plane , go around the pattern,and land before they stopped spinning. Must be some damn good grease. Now everybody go watch it again and see if I'm pulling your leg.

For flying local or short cross countries I don't think there is a reason to own any other plane. This one seems to do it all.

Why the damn music on any videos?
It sure is a very useful little aircraft, but such a shame to spoil it by using a Rotax.
Poorer build quality, less power, excessive RPM.
I'm assuming they are Microlight type also, I can't log standard single-engine hours?

I own and fly a very similar plane (a 'Savannah'), and -in my opinion- the video shows bad and dangerous flying... The turns are too tight, too slow, and with too little altitude. And the landings are fast and quite hard, also.
For a demonstration, it's not a good one. Sorry to be so negative, but I know what I'm talking about...
With all due respect, XXAVIERBAP, the ICP Savannah copy is not a STOL CH 701. The original Zenair STOL CH 701, as piloted here by an experienced pilot, is a very capable light aircraft fully able to execute such tight turns and slow flight. Zenith Aircraft Company Seriously m8's...I thought I only would see armchair Quarterbacking on my rifle vids. I bet no one trashing these birds has ever made their own design..let alone multiples. I've seen the 640, 701, and 801 (And I think even a 750 at our EAA chapter last year) and they are all awesome. Don't ever stop making them :-)

It still takes a relatively long distance/time to take off and land.
The can do either between 1-300'...how short are you wanting?
