The Tank title shot was a really short notice fight but with a weird backstory.
Initially Smith was going to fight Dan Severn and Tank was going to fight Kimo at Pride, because of some legal issues that Tank had he was replaced by Severn with the idea of him fighting Kimo and then Smith, suposedly Severn got injured by doing nothing against Kimo and Tank was contacted a few days before the fight.
That yan aldo fight was painful to watch. What a horrible stoppage

At least Aldo been fighting killers and at he literal beginning of the fw division in the UFC up until he retired this year. Imo, Khabib really couldn't talk much abiut giving up since he retired too early, as dominant as he is, there's a difference between being dominant against top contenders in 5 years to being dominant against top contenders in 10+ years and still fighting top contenders almost a decade after you got dethroned (yeah it's been how many years since Conor KO'd him?)

Tbf, those Frankie losses to Benson were pretty close. I personally felt he should've won the second one. He was also coming off a title reign at 155, and was always seen as undersized for his weight class, whereas Benson was a pretty big lightweight.
The fight with Aldo was his first at 145, so considering all the above, he was definitely a credible contender at the time.

Barnett and Randy fought for HW belt. Barnett popped for steroids and he was stripped from his title. That is why they gave Randy another title shot at the HW title (vs Rodriguez). When he fought Chuck, it was LHW title. At the time, UFC did not have many stars.

Aldo's at least made sense because even though on record he lost to Moraes, many media outlets/fans, etc agreed he had won but the judges gave it to Moraes. He was also very competitive in that fight, was probably 2-2 going into the fifth but that fifth round was fucking brutal to watch. Least Aldo proved he was still great at bantamweight
Another thing is the fight happened during Covid, when everyone was scared to fight.
