There's no 4090 ti and 4080 ti super. 4080 super is about the same as RX 7900 XTX. RTX 4090 is not much better than RX 7900 XT while costing more than double the price
The latest AMD drivers allow this card to be overclocked decently. 7900 GRE memory can now go to about 2.6 MHz without much trouble. So, those who want to overclock a bit can get a card on par with the 4070 Ti Super.
The 4070Ti Super can overclock too, you can't make a comparison between a overclocked card vs a not overclocked card, that's not a fair comparison , that like comparing apples to lobster

@Viktor amd doesn't scale anything in overclocking, I speak for myself as I already had an amd 6xxx, a friend of mine has a 7xxx and I say it's not worth raising the clocks!

@@TheKlebiN really?? to be fair low end cards cant be OC all that much.. but better cards with big coolers can be OC really nicely.. lets say gigabyte gaming is at its limits.. but Aorus or Nitro+ models have no problem for big OC.... but if your PC cant handle even stock cards you wont see any diff with OC or not... then again it HEAVILY depends on what games you play and at what resolution and how good is silicon on your card... so just cuz you and your friend failed at OC means nothing... any good high end card will get you a nice OC boost in fps if your pc allows it
I like how cool the GRE is running, clearly, there is room for overclock and with the recent bug fix it can now be overclocked and get as much as 15% more perf

If you play 4 hours per day, a 200W card at 20 kWh (meralco only charges at 13+ kWh) comes out to 16 pesos per day. a 290W card at 20 kWh is 23.20 pesos per day. It's a 7 peso difference. If you're working, you can save for that tiny difference.

@@pkpnyt4711 I was on a gtx 970 back then...wasn't a fan of the high cost and high power draw of all these things and still am not. Waiting for a card that's around 100% faster around 500 USD with 16 gb vram and a max of around 200 watts. Waiting for next gen apparently but that may not even meet the VRAM requirement I've got.

Perfect video for me. I have ordered all parts, and deciding which GPU to get. I think I'll go with GRE, I like that it stayed relatively cool and fan rpm is low as well. Caveat is the power draw is higher.

They are two very comparable cards! One thing I noticed in a lot of side by side comparisons, is the 4070 Super almost always has a slightly more vibrant and colorful picture. You can see it in the Tarkov side by side the most in this video, but it's noticeable in many of the games if you're looking. I ended up going with the 407O S for that reason, plus the slightly better Ray Tracing and frame gen. But I don't think you can go wrong or would be disappointed with either. My debate lasted about a month between these two 😂
There are subtle differences in colors. But on tarkov weather is the reason not the the hardware.

@@bipulgamer07 yup they do but they are very subtle. pause on 12:20 and look at the road, the mountains and the sky. weather is fixed on that area of alan wake 2 so it shouldnt change the colors.
They are very comparable until you turn RT on (is it me or there is no game with it on?) and then the fps from AMD’s cards fall hard. If anyone is thinking on using RT, AMD cards won’t be your friends.
The colors can be changed from default, its becoming apparent people are using oddity justifications to pay more money for nothing these days. 😂

Ive had 2 colorful products. The rtx 3070 advanced oc-v and a 3060 battle ax nb. The advanced ocv often heats up even reaching 85c in some games. So im going with other brands like asus, gigabyte, or msi
@@JegsTV ah, so in terms of temps the colorful isnt the greatest even the higher tier colorful ones. so that being said any 4070 super is fine? I did came across a 4070 Super Ventus 2X from MSI that is about 700$~ (for reference the asus dual is 740$ and the zotac aka the cheapest i could find is 610$ but it is unavailable or 650$ ish if available)

AMD cards use more Vram in games. Not sure why, but they do.
12gb isn't really an issue either. Just turn on DLSS.

The game isn't optimized well enough, and it's a CPU bound game, People having 4090 are struggling to reach 60FPS.
With that game its not the fault of those lower end cards, its just a horribly unoptimized POS.

Greetings friend, I hope you are well, I am having a problem and I have a theory of what it could be but I am looking for different opinions I want to play the last of us on PC well I have an i5 9400f and an RTX 2060 super with 16 GB and a good SSD updated drivers from what I saw in benchmarks with my video card I could play it in low medium maximum high at 1080p with dlss what happens I tried the game no matter what configuration I use I tried everything dlss fsr 2 latest recent update of fsr3 generation of frames in the part From the beginning where Joel is running around people with Sarah the cpu usage is always above 90 even reaching 98-99 for seconds 100 I have constant jerks and in that part the fps drop to 44-43 I tried limiting the fps if I do At 30-40 the game is playable but I don't plan to play it like that any more with the new card that I had a hard time getting. I think the problem could be that the processor creates a bottleneck and that limits my performance. What is your opinion? Any help is helpful. thank you

Depends on your budget and or preference, if you're more comfortable with Nvidia, then get the 4070 super. If it's AMD, then get the 7900GRE. I've had bad experiences with AMD, so I'm sticking with Nvidia, but that's me.

Hello Jegs, I have been following you for a long time and I will build the same system as yours. You are using the Aorus b650 Elite Ax model as the motherboard. If I use MSI B650 Tomahawk or Asus Tuf B650 Gaming instead, will there be any difference in FPS? Do you have any suggestions between these two cards? Or would it make sense to buy an x670 series card for fps?

Motherboard really doesnt affect FPS in most cases, so using those motherboard shouldnt be an issue. B650 boards should be fine.

The 7600x is a great cpu to pair with the 7900 GRE. I will also upgrade to the 7900 GRE, it's almost $100 cheaper than the 4070 Super where I live, it's an easy choice.

If you value DLSS and better raytracing then go with 4070. 7900 GRE offer more VRAM and AMD offer longer support for newer updates to FSR on older cards. I can use frame gen on my 5700XT, but not even the 30 series can use frame gen, only 40 series.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that the 4070S overclocks like a monster as well. That’s why it’s pointless to compare cards when overclocked.
HWU did a vid today between the 7900 GRE and the 4070 super overclocked and the GRE wins. The 4070 super 2--10% faster OC'ed and the 7900 GRE 8-15% faster OC'ed.
@@tommysimonsen4043 sounds right. The GRE should be faster at pure raster.
One issue I ran into with my setup and upgrade paths was my PSU. 650w was golden 5-6 years ago but the Radeon GPUs are pushing it a bit for me and the cost of replacing a perfectly good high end EVGA 650w PSU had to be figured into the cost. I suspect that may be why the 7800XT may have had stability issues.
Just can’t see replacing a PSU with 4 or 5 years of warranty left. PSUs aren’t cheap nowadays.
@@tommysimonsen4043 I watched that video, for 7900 GRE, he tested with 3 cards, stock,Nitro + ( which comes with already over clocked),and Nitro + oc'd. But for the other cards he used only stock version (all are non oc models), only 4070 super is oc'd,even with the Nitro+ oc for GRE,there ain't a considerable increase in performance
so roughly 10% more performance for 40% more power draw at 10% cheaper. Pay now or pay overtime.

Depends on the model. But a typical 7900gre card is around 280-290mm so you should be good
Overclocked my 7900GRE brings even more fps than 7900XT on Cyberpunk, average on the bench is like 120 fps which just insane. Stock is around 100 mean 20% uplift.
That's really nice I was going to get the 7900xt for my birthday my budget is US $1150 So that could mean more money towards CPU. If you have any good feedback to help it would be much appreciated

it still depends on your usage. if you play with RT, go with the 4070 super. otherwise, go with the 7900gre.
some games just seem to hate AMD cards, they have much worse frame times and 1% lows. But I'd still pick the 7900GRE

@@ObakuZenCenter With AMD you just have access to FSR. But Nvidia has access to both DLSS and FSR. Its upscaling and frame generation tech are also superior.

If you want RT, just get the 4070S. No need to argue.
The 7900 GRE graphics card is far ahead in minimum fps, which means a smoother gaming experience. However, for some reason, you CZcamsrs are basing on the average fps value, which is a wrong approach!

I think the 7900gre is a good graphics card, but the cheap price is deceiving. Since I am a power user, my electricity bill would relativize the surcharge to the 4070Super after some time and in the end you would get away a lot cheaper. You can light up your whole apartment at the same time and then use it up. As much as the 7900gre in a dark apartment. If you don't care about ray tracing and CUDA (e.g. for AI and video editing,...), you'll get a minimally faster card with 4GB more VRAM. everyone has to go astray for themselves. Since I work with AI applications, unfortunately only Nvidia is an option for me anyway.
The surcharge is 7 pesos per day. Are you telling me you can't make or save 7 pesos per day? If you play 4 hours per day, a 200W (it actually hits 220W but I chose a lower number) card at 20 kWh (meralco only charges at 13+ kWh) comes out to 16 pesos per day. a 290W card at 20 kWh is 23.20 pesos per day. It's a 7 peso difference. If you work and can afford cards at this price range, power consumption is the least of your worries. You spend more on a cup of coffee at McDo or Dunkin each day than even playing 4 hours per day on a 300W card. So think of it this way. Instead of buying coffee outside or whatever you buy each day, save it and play games!

If I convert these now 21 pesos into euros, I now come to 1.16 € per day with 4 hours of use. According to your calculation... Coffee must be pretty expensive in Mexico.
@parryhotter3138 I'm quoting Philippine peso not Mexican peso. 1 Euro is 60 PHP. You'll spend about 3.5 Euros for a Starbucks Cafe Americano here. The average price of electricity in Asia (which is more than half the worlds population) is around .22c per kWh. It's more or less the same in the US in terms of average price per kWh. I know Europe has .40c per kWh and 1 or 2 countries over that.
@@pkpnyt4711 in your farfetched peso math, 7 pesos a month makes it up to 84 pesos a year, or 168 pesos in the average time a user changes his grafics card. SO yeah, you have to add that to the price of the 7900GRE. Now use a real coin, with a real price in a real country in Europe and see it adds up way above the 4070S price quite clearly.

because AMD drivers are susceptible to video memory leaks. For example, the game Control is not playable on a 6600xt with 8GB of video memory.

The difference in performance is not too big, but AMD has shitty drivers. Many games stutter, even old games, for example Crysis 2 remastered, FarCry3, Timeshift.

7900GRE ALL DAYS
Well, as I expected before watching the video, the cards are very close in fps, I would buy 4070S for a new build, because it happens in 2 slots and is short + it is better for streaming.but it is better for her to buy a new power supply unit, since they already have a new power connector. To upgrade, it is better to buy 7900 gre.
4070ti cost more than the 7900xt. dont get the gre it should not be classed as a 7900 as its a long way behind the 7900xt. even with the update for overclocks. as its down to silicon lottery on the vram

7900GRE uses way more ram than 4070s
I recently replaced my 4070s with the 7900 GRE in my main pc. I have no regret's.
For real? I'm kinda deciding which one to get. I always had Nvidia but this 7900 GRE is really putting me to the test. RT is not a huge issue to me but DLSS vs FSR is making me undecided, although 12GB vs 16GB ram also. Can you share some more feedback please?
So, here's a little more info on my switch. Certain game titles like Modern Warfare favor AMD immensely. The ray tracing on the 4070s is a little better but the overall gaming experience on demanding titles like Cyber Punk have been buttery smooth. I'm no longer getting spikes or drops in performance like on my 4070s. The GeForce experience/ driver updates on NVidia is much better. I few games kept crashing on the 7900GRE until I started figuring out the Adrenalin software. The raw power of the 16GB VRAM on the 7900GRE makes the gameplay smoother in my opinion. @@FlavioAlmeida
RX 7900 GRE is closer to a 4080...with the new drivers you can OC.
Keep in mind that the 4070S overclocks like a monster as well. That’s why it’s pointless to compare cards when overclocked.
The memory clock or just the core clock? Previously, you were limited to just a 3% overclock on the memory.

amd doesn't scale anything in overclocking, I speak for myself as I already had an amd 6xxx, a friend of mine has a 7xxx and I say it's not worth raising the clocks!
@@mursumarsu1791 but that's all on a case by case basis. My 4070S picked up about 10-12% with the OC where the 7800XT I had could not be overclocked at all without losing stability. I'm just pointing out that including OC in a review when 90% of people will never OC is not a best practice for reviewers. Everyone's results are different. That being said, would I OC the card. Of course :)

I watched the video and didn't once see the 4070s run out of Vram, as you would see an increase in system memory, we don't here, in fact its the 7900GRE, that seems to require more Vram and system memory to achieve the same result, both Vram & Ram using consistently 20% more than the 4070s system, with no real FPS gain. Obviously we always want more Vram, but 12 gb isn't too small for a card that most people would be buying it for 1440p, the fact that it seems to be able to handle 4k with 12 gb, shows although not ideal, its more than enough for the job. and for me the extra features Nvidia has on top, dlss3, frame gen, and better for streaming ect. and power efficiency, is worth the extra 50.

@@_Leouch yes some do but this 1 obviously doesn't, and my point is that the AMD rig seems to be consistently using more vram and system ram than the Nvidia rig, with NO GAIN.

For example many players ușe Nvidia for low latency competitive 1080p high res and while having some freetime trying out some other games too. Don't be ignorant. 4070s îs a great 1080p for huge fps and eventually pathtracing why not!
