- The awesome 1932 Taylor 12 of the Minster and Parish Church of St Peter at Leeds, which I faithfully served has a bell ringers for over 20 years until recently. This clip was taken by me at a Thursday night practice, when I went back to hear these fantastic bells again, which are still very close and dear to my own heart. The bells are ringing a touch of Grandsire Cinques. Tenor 40-1-27 in C
Lovely bells.
My old man was a bell hanger at Whitechapel.
He hung some famous bells such as Bow and the Abbey.
He had a saying Taylors for tenors, whitechapel for trebles.
There is no doubt that a Taylor tenor just seems to have more breath or more lungs than an equivilent weight Whitechapel tenor.
I can only theorise that it is due to the profile differences in bells between Whitechapel and Taylors..
They sound as good as ever, still not rung here yet myself
Looks like somebody brings their little one to practice!
Classic Alexander Johnson W
They sound SO much like Buckfast Abbey!!!!
Well they are in the same note and a similar weight
Ho ho ho. In my opinion they are the 2nd best ring in Yorkshire (after York Minster, of course!)
I think you are right.
@@RingerThomas No doubt, they are something special
2'40" of rounds before going into changes...wow...
Yes it was a very good piece of ringing, and I so miss these fantastic bells, and know longer been able to ring any longer.
Why is the Tenor rope blue at the top?
Idk maybe the camera light
I don't think so🤔
It’s a different material to the usual rope that doesn’t stretch at all - makes the tenor easier to ring when there’s less stretch.
Was that a bob at 3:34 or a dog yapping?
Not a Dog yaping
Probably a Bob
