He lied, he did see the sign, he read it out at the very beginning, you chose to ignore that.
The reason it was hand's on was because they knew it would be 30 minutes of the same rigmarole.
Plus he re entered when the sign was clearly pointed out to him and if he's really alarmed and distressed (we know he's not 😂) he should move away from what's causing the distress not go back to the problem.
