      WHICH EMAIL ARE USED
      GMAIL?

You can use any email. Here I just used Gmail as an example simply because it is the most asked question.

Thanks for the very good video. I have a very basic question: what would be the other « easy » options to go with if it was not gmail, for a « small » moodle user like you and me? Thanks

This probably means that you missed the step where you respond to the automatic google email. Check the links for the authentication url.

Can't find test outgoing mail configuration. Not sure If I need to enable some basic settings but email notification never works for me, after configuring as per your guidance. any help would be appreciated.

I realize it is three months too late. Older Moodle systems do not have the test outgoing email feature. What you can do to test your email is to pretend to submit something as a student and checking if the assessor/teacher receives an email notification for it.
What email are you using? What settings did you use?

Hi! we encountered an error when sending an email from our moodle site, all emails sent were tagged as SPAM. I did some troubleshooting and updated configurations in our domain but still, emails go to SPAM.

      Hi Alex.
When you look at the mail in the spam section does it have a tab where you have to ask it to show more? Feel free to email me at antonet.behr@gmail.com, screenshots make it easier to judge what is causing this.
From what I can surmise you are using the built-in PHP mailer. Seems as though this is a simple problem with an easy fix.

Hi Rakesh, thanks for the question.
Are you setting up with a Gmail or with a work or internal email?
Try using different settings. See SMTP from 1:50 for the different ports.
Please remember that this video only explains setting up Gmail for moodle. Work or internal emails have many other variables that could affect this.
