When asked about his thoughts on the criticism Deion responded: “People are hurt and when people are hurt often times their first response isn’t the response that should be given. They say things out of emotion and anger, but I listen. Because when a person says stuff out of emotions and anger that’s how they really feel.”

The real reason is they wanted things handed to them and for you to do all the work. The people of Jackson should take care of there own school and treat it with respect. He said that it wasn't about the money, that he wasn't interested in leaving, and that we could level the playing field. if we chose us, instead of running to PWI's.

After 4 years at Florida State Deion got drafted by both the New York Yankess and the Atlanta Falcons in 1989. 2 Swac Conference Championships, 1 Undefeated season as Head Coach @ Jackson State. This man different!
Coach Prime is a class act! He's operates in ORDER and this is why he is so blessed. MOST importantly he keeps God FIRST! It's wonderful to see how many other men admire coach. Aside of coaching and instilling character and integrity in these young men, God is using him to be a role model to SOME other grown men by seeing how to LEAD. His purpose is so much bigger than coaching. God is using him in a variety of ways and it's not easy. The higher God takes us, the more heavy it is but he's locked in ....Coach Prime we honor you and give you your rose's 🌹

Shannon is a great interviewer. This was an excellent interview with Coach Prime. It felt like I was watching two great friends just check on each other. Loved watching them out on the CU field at the end.
When you asked Coach Prime about why not build up JSU to be a power house that made my day.
Honestly, I didn't know when the football team joins another conference, all the other sports have to join.
Good question.
He did build a powerhouse, this would not be an interview if he was losing.
Deion is awesome, he’s shedding light on so many things that NO ONE knew.
I'm going to say HBCUs still need to be audited. I'm a HBCU aluminum from the SWAC and Coach Prime is not lying. I'll go a step further and say the kids that go to the school substantially undefended and also highly disrespected, and that part is by their own people. Lately, most of these questions are coming from people that didn't go to a HBCU or play collegiate sports.
I did both by playing at a HBCU & I graduated from one and I still think he’s a sellout....

Growing up in the 90s as an Eagles fan, I used to HATE prime time lol but now I'm the first to say that this dude is a class act. Amazing human being, don't let the haters get to you prime time.
He left all those kids that went to Jackson for him. Some can transfer, but it may be financial burden or some might financially not be able to. Literally this is the first time I’ve ever been disappointed in Prime as a long time fan and supporter.

Also, no one was making 30k a year. To Prime's credit, JSU coaches became the highest paid in all of HBCUs. I wish him well.
That isn't saying much, highest paid HBCU staff means nothing. It's still chump change to a power 5. Deion's Colorado contract is more than the entire staff of the football and basketball team

Prime is not Jerry Jones with deep pockets that can change something that has been broken for years. It takes all of us to make a change not just one person. Our people always blame a person.
And unfortunately the people on the other side of his deal tried to get over on him.
It kills me how one person is supposed to be the savior of something in our community but the moment they can’t save whatever on their own then they get hate for it. They forget all the positive things a person did and how that person pushed a movement forward. Prime pulled the ship a good bit forward by himself. He got other former NFL players to coach hbcu’s and brought a massive spotlight. It’s time for everyone else to keep it going. But most weren’t even attempting to push the movement along yet want to criticize

I absolutely love when Shannon says *WHAT* ! 🤣🤣🤣😅 Even on Undisputed! Hilarious. This was a wonderful podcast episode.
I don't think most people thought prime would be at JSU for 10yrs. But because of the things he said about building JSU and HBCU'S into a place top recruits would come instead of PWI'S they thought he might at least stay the length of his contract for the kids he recruited. I was not one of those people I believed he would leave as soon as he thought he could get a PWI job as that was his initial goal when none of the PWI'S would give him a job. JSU was always going to be a stepping stone for him to get to where he wanted to be.
On the backs of an HBCU. Being at a HBCU isn't enough. PWI didn't want him with no experience. That's the part he won't talk about. Keep it all the way real. I wish him nothing but the best.

1877 - The year Jackson State University was founded by our esteemed Ancestors. JSU has graduated some of this country's best educators and engineers. People let's move beyond games and this issue.
College football is a billion dollar industry. That’s how PWC get so much exposure and what not. HBCU needs to embrace their athletes coming back.
You know you lying, name one engineer that did anything the last 25 years, I don't want to hear about 50 years ago.

I appreciate Mr. Sanders' intentions, but nation building of the type we need is well beyond the sphere of entertainment, sports and games even though they have their place in society (and I thoroughly enjoy the SWAC). I look forward to someone doing research 10 years out on the impact Mr. Sanders' time in Mississippi made on it's people - or will it just be a pleasant fleeting memory? Shared in respect.

I am ashamed to admit that I underestimated Deion. I did not think he had what it takes to be a coach at the collegiate level and boy was I ever wrong. I love to hear him talk.
