  • Johnny Manziel is happy the Dallas Cowboys didn’t draft him:
“If you would’ve put me in a landscape that was my backyard… I know who I was hanging around at that point in my life and I think it would’ve been an absolute disaster… thankfully, it didn’t happen even though at the time it was what I wanted.”

What he's giving us is the deep - behind the scenes things to being a pro athlete. We see teams and players and wonder why they don't win or thrive in the NFL not thinking about the other "players" on the team (Coaches, GM's, Owners etc.,) who have a massive impact on their self-esteem as an athlete and their growth and development as a professional. This happens in every single industry - not just football but Johnny's story is amazing and clears the air on who we THOUGHT WE KNEW and WHO HE REALLY IS. I LOVE THIS INTERVIEW because he's peeling back the layers on what really goes on in college football and the NFL. I'm sure a lot of people are upset.

Should have matured when it mattered. Dude had all the talent in the world but didn’t grow up when he got to the NFL. If he didn’t wanna be in the NFL he shouldn’t have declared for it

Undoubtedly one of the best college football players of all time. I wonder if he dedicated himself to the nfl if he could’ve been good or if his size could never make it work and he realized that and just quit on himself.

That's incredibly sad. I didn't like Johnny Manziel at all as a person, player, etc. I knew he would fail before he even entered the league. My opinion of Brian Hoyer has completely changed. This really brought light to exactly what kinds of disfunction can happen in an NFL organization. I'm glad Manziel took accountability; it's a what a strong adult does, but it certainly wasn't all of his fault.

Heres the thing, Manziel would have been better in Dallas because hed sit behind Romo. Would Johnny be a good is unknown cause of the demons he had. But being behind Romo would give him time to think about his future before thrusted in too early.
