- Is JUNE the BEST MONTH for traveling around SWITZERLAND? What is June going to be LIKE? June marks the beginning of Summer here in Switzerland. That means it’s going to be warm, the days will be long and in general it’s a good time to travel around Switzerland. June is better than July and August, as in Switzerland the latter two months will mark the peak season. June is not too busy, there will be fewer tourists visiting Switzerland. This means, you may enjoy places like Berner Oberland, Zermatt, Lucerne as well as other places with little tourists. This is surely going to be great, because it also allows you to visit Switzerland on a budget. July and August will be expensive, as it’s peak season: The prices will raise by 50%. Thus, June in Switzerland is going to be cheap! Grab the opportunity. June marks the beginning of Summer in Switzerland: There will be no more blossoms, all will be green. Up in the Swiss Alps Summer is going to start soon! You may still see some snow up there as usually above 2500 meters there will be some left. Above 3000 meters in the Swiss Alps, in June there will still be a lot of snow! The Swiss glaciers will all be beautifully exposed as most of the snow will have molten already. No more skiing will be possible in June up in the Swiss Alps, except in Zermatt and Saas-Fee at where you can go for summer skiing. The Swiss pass roads will all be open in June. Try out the Nufenen, Susten, Grimsel, Furka or Gotthard Pass. These pass roads are very nice and take you through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Swiss Alps! At the Furkapass, you may also visit the Rhone Glacier ice cave! A great attraction suitable for budget travelers! The rivers and lakes in Switzerland are going to be warm enough so you may go to enjoy swimming! These are the most important things to know, if you want to travel to Switzerland during June. June is a great month to travel, in face it’s one of the best seasons to visit Switzerland!

I've been roaming around CH-especially by bike and on foot-since 2000. I know many of the obscure and less obscure places Djemo vlogs about. His reports on stuff I know about are spot-on. And I almost always learn about a place I haven't been that looks cool.
That said, the roads over many of the big passes are very traffick-y this time of year. Especially motorbikes. I avoid Furka, Grimsel, Susten and Oberalp on my velo during these months.

Wir sind immer im Walliserhof. Ein tolles Hotel mit schönen Zimmern und einem tollen Wellnessbereich. Und das Frühstück ist Bombe. Der Umbau ist echt gelungen. Einzig die Rezeption wirkt ein wenig kühl. Die hat mir früher besser gefallen, einladender, heimeliger. Das ist halt Ansichtssache. Danke fürs hochladen. Schöne Grüsse aus Luzern.

Hii Doha. I think that sounds pretty rushed. I suggest you better do Thun and the lake for on 1 day and visit the Blausee at Kandersteg. Do the Matterhorn on a separate day. Zermatt requires 1 FULL day. Half day is not worth the rush and money as well. Weekdays are always better. Less people😊

Hi Dhara. Most welcome. Does it rain a lot: Hard to say. 2021 was super rainy, 2022 was not. It's always hard to predict. I would say you have good chances for sunny weather, just maybe not on every day. I wish you a great holiday!

Regarding seeing the Matterhorn: As I stated in the video, please get up early to visit the Gornergrat or Rothorn. Gornerschlucht and Adventurepark are great too! It's only open in Summer.

In the year 2022 the temperatures in Lucerne and Interlaken was as high as 29/30 degree around 19th or 20th May.
Have the climates changed because of Global warming?

Unfortunately, the school holidays in Switzerland always start on different dates +/- 1 week and not every Canton has school holidays up from the same date, which makes it quite complicated. Europe usually has holidays in the last week of June until the 1st week of September; rule of thumb. Good to orient. I hope that helped.

We are going to Switzerland June 2023 for 12 days for our honeymoon. I'm still contemplating which pass should we get. We are staying at Lucerne (2 nights) Grindelwald (4nights) Zermatt (2 nights) then get the glacier express to St. moritz (2 nights) and back to zurich (2 nights) would it be ideal to get the 6, 8 or 15 days?

It's hard to predict the weather during these days because of the global warming. Last year we had a drought without any rain in July. 2021, July was rainy nonstop

Hi Erica. Switzerland is not part of the EU but we are part of the Schengen space. That means, you would have to immigrate into Schengen area once you set foot into France. If you have anything to declare at the Swiss boarder, because you would be bringing any goods here, you would have to do so.

Hi. Not sure where you checked but I only see lush green landscapes in the flatlands. Up in the Alps it's maybe different. The rains in May covered the summits of the Alps with more snow, which is good to protect the glaciers from excessive melting.

I used to travel and live in Bayern. There May is the most wildly rainy. Especially the last 3-4 years. That a ruiner catalyst!
But, unfortunately, the most rainy time is also the greenest and floral time with the most green virgin landscape time of the year, in Bayern.

Hi. I dont think June is a very wet month. This June is and so it was in 2021. Normally, June is very sunny. In September, it's still quite warm, you have shorter days, which might be an issue for some people. Swimming in nature is not necessarily possible anymore then, maybe during the first 7 days still okay. I hope I could help.
@@DjemoGraphic thank u so much for your great info. I was in swiss for 2 weeks in early may. . Luckily only had 2 days of dizzling rain in lucern. I covered many beautiful places fro zurich to zermat but my fav is BO. I feel not complete without some hiking in BO. So I plan to go there again (wengen base) for a week in next year and do some short hikes. I will pick june. Should i go in early june or mid? Appreciate ur advice again.

Hi. Its getting hotter due to the global warming. July and August, temperatures above 30°C are quite common nowadays. June is usually a bit milder. Around 25-32°C
Some vloggers in Switzerland saying schools will be in break early June and its the 2nd most expensive month to visit Switzerland, so who should we trust?
You can trust me. I was born here and went to school here. Summer holidays start in early July, not June. July and August are expensive, June is cheaper😉
