  • I am running this on 95% with the frequency at 58 and was getting around 3.5-3.9 TH/s on the pool. I tried it at 60 but the TH's rate fell to 2 TH range for a bit so I bumped it down.
    I've also been messing around with the Newpac USB miners and one of the things I've noticed while overclocking those is that it seems each chip had its own ideal frequency range. Some chips run faster at 485 MHz than at 515 MHz for example. I suspect these might be similar. Gonna try 55,56, 57 next and see which level it runs best at. When recording this was at 58 freq and still hovered around the same level in terms of TH/s. I may decrease the power and frequency, it seems to have been more efficient around 54 freq w/ power at 90% and still hitting 3.4-3.6 TH/s.
    Adding 2 fans that I connected through USB and currently get temps of ~55° C to 65° C. Normally the temps were 65° C - 73° C so I think they easily drop the temps by 5-10° or so. I felt adding it would make the stock fan work less hard over time and operate more efficiently.

    According to my calculations, this can actually host the full package + 2 standard units all overclocked to the max by itself for less than $40-$50 after cables. It seems these pull about 270W maxed out so if you used this PSU to run 3 units you should be under the 900W this puts out on a standard plug. As always DYOR but just wanted to put it on people's radar.
    I am currently running the full package + 2 gekkoscience usb mining hubs with no issues. I was initially worried the PSU might be too loud since its from a server but it seems the entire set up is surprisingly quiet. When I move it to balanced or eco the PSU slows down the fan speed as well and gets even quieter so that's pretty cool & unexpected. You can't hear it at all over an AC.

    Thank you for the review. I am getting one for me, and i am buyi g it 'coupled' with the division of installing solar pannels. Um the hours of max production solar i am out of the house so this guy is gonna help me pay solar instalation!

    Hey I have a question, for the Apollo btc cooling are you pointing both fans in? Or is 1 in 1 out? Thxs

      When i had this set up, i am pretty sure I was pointing them both inwards, where the direction was blowing air onto the miner but i didn't keep this set up too long.
      Eventually i just put one "on top" of it to assist the fan that the Apollo BTC has to push the hot air out a bit easier.

    At a standard residential electric rate, aren't you losing money per day?

      At the current price of BTC, it breaks even at around 16¢-17¢. As in the cost for electricity at 17¢ or so it would be similar to buying it spot around the $33k price. No KYC with mining tho.
      If the price of BTC goes up then the profitability goes up as well. Right now i pay like 9¢ for electric so it's definitely profitable.

      It was like some Raspberry Pi 7" touch screen monitor i got off AliExpress for like $50. A similar one is on Amazon but most are going for $70+

      Do you mean power supply? These aren't powered by a USB hub.
      If so, I am using a Server power supply called a Dell 03MJJP + a breakout board. PSU costs was less than $50 after cables

    It must be extremely hot. It’s already very hot with turbo preset mode. Don’t you afraid of burning your unit?

      I ran it for over a week at those settings with no issues. I did have an additional fan tho and it was an average of 70 F at my place.

      If you skip to 1:42, you'll see the overclock settings that I am running. If you want to overclock, you need to toggle "custom settings mode".
      if you have the stock power supply, just set the power to like 70%. Then let the miner run at different frequencies.
      note: i have a stronger power supply so your unit might not be as strong or fast if you use the stock power supply. I am using a Server power supply called a Dell 03MJJP + a breakout board. the only main difference you might run into is that I am allowed to draw more than 75% power and not run into issues. If you plan to do this, make sure you use a power supply that's more than 400W-500W.
      i started my frequencies at 46 and slowly crepped up. past 55-58 i didn't see any consistent efficiency gains so i ended lowering it a bit. I currently have it on the regular turbo mode, but when I was using custom settings, I left the frequency at 53. You need to mess around with the frequency and power levels till you find a combination that works best.

      I have an ATX power supply laying around that’s 850WATT 80 Plus Gold so I’ll plug that in and mess with the settings and see what I come up with.

      2 TH = ~900 Satoshis a day
      3 TH = ~1300 Satoshis a day.
      If you keep it on balanced you're making like 1100 sats a day or like 40¢ a day.

      @@justh0dl 🤣 I thought so but I had to ask. I'm trying to see if joining a pool will be more profitable considering the high electricity cost in my country because a S19 pro will simply pull too much power however still profitable.

      @@moeriedsolomon one of the reasons i like these miners more than the loud, power hungry industrial miners is that absolute worst case scenario, even at 25¢+ per kWh, the most you'd spend on electricity is like $30-$40 a month.
      something like the S19 pro eats up like $150-$500+ depending on your power costs and most likely need some sort of custom electrical work.
      Your downside & overhead are significantly limited with these lower power ones so even if you mine at a loss for a bit, there's only so much you can "lose".

      Idk what your electricity rate is but at the hash rate and power consumption I'm using, this thing breaks even at 15¢ with a $29k BTC lol. Obviously you would take a while to ROI but when i bought this it was $650 or 1.2 million Satoshis (BTC was at $53k). It should mine that much in about a year. The standard units were a bit cheaper and see the same performance but I'm still waiting on those but i expect to ROI. After that, you just pay for power. Plus there's absolutely no KYC or ID required to get BTC this way which is great.

      @@justh0dl I have the standard unit, have not used. Am waiting for the full unit (with controller) batch 2 arriving end month (I hope). I just want to pay for hardware after 1 year (I cannot pimp like you). My original Apollo LTC is soooo profitable (thanks to DOGE). That has been running non stop for over 2 years.
