      A Danko #18 O-Ring fixes this leak issue. It is 1-3/16 OD x 15/16 ID x 1/8. The Danco part number is 96735. Don’t ask if it’s fuel resistant. The answer is probably “No”. I just keep and eye on it and change it if it needs it. 😂

    Pattays Performance. Seriously, I do not understand why the engine manufacturers go for the “Gimmicky “ approach like never changing oil or like the quarter turn fuel cap that is quite lousy at best. The screw type gas cap has worked for many years now, So why change something that was working for everyone? And Yes, The metal fuel caps could be a pain. But with my Snapper 3.5hp,, Switching to the newer style Briggs & Stratton plastic cap solved the problem with trying to screw a metal cap onto a metal tank. I liked your replacement tank much better than the OEM tank.
    For a while now, I have been entertaining the thought of purchasing one of the 30 inch cut Toro mowers like the one that you have. With your videos regarding your mower, It sure is nice to have “A Heads Up” on what is good and not so good and the best way to remedy the not so good situations. As always - My Very Best Regards To You & Mrs Pattay Performance.
    P.S; I didn’t mention the “Never Change” oil debacle due to exhaling profanities in which CZcams would give me “30 Lashes” and cut out my tongue. So I say Arrgh!!! (LOL)

      I did a video on a never change mower oil. It was in the infancy of my channel. A neighbor brought in a mower for a no start. Told him it needs a tune-up as well. Told me I need to catch up with the times as it’s never oil change lawn mower. A couple months later he dropped the mower off for a no start. Well...what do you think happens when you don’t change the oil...BOOM!
      Videos on the Timemaster are few and far. Taryl did help me with pulley upgrade and blade timing 🤣🤣🤣. I’m just taking it further the. Him. He is busy guy 🤣

    Toro should offer a recall or at the very least a solution for owners experiencing this leaking TimeMaster Gas tank issue. I emailed Toro about the issue and they responded, "Thank you for contacting Toro. We do apologize that you`re machine is leaking. We would recommend seeking further advice from a local service dealer. They have authorized mechanics that may be able to provide tips to help you with repairs." Pattay, your solution is a good one provided someone can find an old tank, but quite frankly, you should not have to had find a solution yourself...we are talking about a safety issue with leaking gas after all. The TimeMaster is a $1,200 plus mower...reflects very poorly on Toro that they are not willing to send out a replacement solution to this problem.

    Luckily haven't had trouble with the cap leaking but every time I fill up I slosh gas everywhere cause you have no judgement when to stop pouring. Removing the foam will probly help. Main tank problem is it's WAY too small. Filling the oil is also problematic. Never get the right amount. I'll try to find something to measure in exactly 18oz. Like the shirt.

    I love the TimeMaster, but there are a few quirks that just irritate the crap out of me. One of them is the gas cap leaking. I bought a new cap and it leaks just as badly. I believe the O-ring they supply with these caps is too small. Why in the world a screw on cap wasn't supplied is just startling. The second issue is the mower deck. It clogs up horribly bad if grass gets even slightly too high. I never had that trouble with my Honda. Of course, apples and oranges, I know. Thirdly... My blades need to be sharpened and I can't get the blades off, even with an impact. I believe they will shear off first. How in the world I'll get them off, I don't have a clue.

    • @pattayperformance
      @pattayperformance  Před rokem

      My 3/8' M12 Impact has zero issues take the blades off. Before I went Cordless, My Aircat 3/8" Gun would do the trick as well. Im in 11740 and can help with your blades.
      Gas tank...it is what it is...
      As far as the deck...I only experienced clogging on wet grass and I try my hardest to never cut it. I do let my grass get tall bc I grow KTF31 since its a taller grass it hold moisture. I have to wait a few days after heavy rain fall to cut. On days I cut I don't water the grass in the morning.
      I had a Honda and hated it, for the quirks this machine has it is superior cut to the Honda Quadra System

    • @sflgencoupe
      @sflgencoupe Před rokem +1

      Use a Danco 96735 o-ring. A 10 pack is $3.13. That should be good for 5 years+, just replace when it leaks. I sharpen my blades every start of season, Ryobi impact tool works. When mowing tall grass I just leave the shoot open with a bungee cord and it works perfectly, the side shoot attachment that comes with the machine clogs up..

    • @pattayperformance
      @pattayperformance  Před rokem +1

      @@sflgencoupe the only time I’ve had an issue with clogging is when the grass is really tall bc it traps moisture. Only happens when I Overseed and let it get tall before the first cut.
