    So with the gastrodon thing: In some areas of the world, particularly the Caribbean, beaches have sand largely made up of dead plankton which could be suggest that modern Pokémon scientists know that it eats sand for the plankton but to Laventon they appear to just eat sand.

      It could be that it is eating the sand, with the plankton in it, and then filtering out the plankton and using the sand for its ground attacks. It would fix the conflict of ideas, and would make sense, as people of the past wouldn't understand that it was eating the microscopic plankton in the sand, and would think that its just eating the sand itself.

    When I first saw Porygon I was baffled at how it could be present, given the time period of the game. Then I realized that it was only showing up in space-time rifts, now I’m wondering if Porygon is a bootstrap paradox. My guess with Monferno: Those with lighter blue crests are higher ranking meaning they don't have to fight and hunt as often because the lower ranking ones are the ones that do that. The higher ranking ones just take the food. Therefore, the deeper blue are more likely to evolve into Infernape since they're the ones gaining experience from battles

      @katiebrown3811 Před 11 měsíci +27

      Perhaps brighter blue ones are inherently weaker, but were faster learners/were more intelligent? So they rose in the hierarchy due to being wiser or something. But the deeper blue ones perhaps were born with higher specs (like, i dunno, higher IVs or something) so they were stronger and did more of the tasks like fighting predators/fighting for territory, or tasks that end up easier for those able to produce hotter flames and exert more physical force. "Stronger" and "higher ranking" can go hand in hand, but it's not like their definitions are synonymous.
      Or since the entries talking about brighter blue are more recent chronologically, maybe over the course of time it took for Hisui to become Sinnoh, the traits that the Monferno found more favorable might have changed as their environments around them did.

    I see Lilligant living in the mountains as being symbolic of its brutality. Regular Lilligant live in grassy areas where you’d expect a flower to thrive, so they wear dresses and appear as royalty. This Lilligant lives in the mountains where one would expect it to suffer, but instead it has adapted, losing its dress for a more open and effective style. The new addition of the fighting type also makes sense, as fighting gives it coverage against ice. This suggests that Lilligant lives in the mountains to get stronger, and gained the fighting type as a way of surviving against the ice type Pokémon that live there. To me this is just cool cause it shows Lilligant as being an absolute beast that puts itself through struggles so it can come out on top.

    Hisuian Samurott is actually given a reason for why it evolved that way in it’s Pokédex entry if you compare it to it’s original variant.
    It gained the Dark type, as well as a dirty fighting style to replace it’s honorable one, to adapt to Hisui’s dog eat dog environment.
    I also find it hilarious that, while the children of Hisui could tell that Sudowoodo isn’t a tree, some adults in Johto couldn’t figure it out (that being said, it’s camouflage is still presumably effective against most Pokémon, seeing as it never seems to be eaten by some Rock eating Pokémon).

    Regarding the cascoon vs silkoon silk, I believe this is actually a reference to real world silkworms. If you want to challenge someone to a dual, you have to seek out a Roselia (who might attack you, mind you), in order to pluck off some of it's poison thorns (And not get pricked yourself; otherwise you could die), to mail them to your opponent as a way to say "I challenge you." Not only is that a hardcore badass call out to say "I'm better then you" but, it also probably reduced the amount of duels only to people with actual courage... or stupidity.

    Here’s my theory about Silkoon and Cascoon. So Legends Dex says that Cascoon’s is the more useful one for clothing, but most likely silkoon’s is in modern time and I believe it’s because in Legends, you get called out for wearing normal, silk clothing saying that you would get torn to shreds by the wild Pokémon. In modern times that doesn’t really happen so it makes sense that when Pokémon are attacking to wear the stronger and more defensive stuff while when they aren’t attacking people to wear more comfortable silk based clothes

They become poisonous by consuming either poisonous plants or by eating other poisonous animals ( a real life example of this would include the Monarch butterfly which as a caterpillar eats milkweed which as the larvae matures transfers the toxins from their food into their bodies , thus if another animal ate them they would become sick ) pufferfish are poisonous in real life and consume things that are sometimes poisonous to other animals so this is possible when it comes to Overqwil .

    The item that changes the forms of Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus and Enamorous is the reveal glass (truth glass in my language).
    Also, the humanoid forms are called "Incarnate".
    So it's pretty much confirmed that the therian forms are the true forms, and the four Pokémon can incarnate into their humanoid forms.
    Even Giratina was firstly introduced in its "fake" form, only for its true form to be revealed later.

    I actually like the idea of some entries being wrong on purpose, since it just adds to the theme that all of these pokemon are new and just being discovered. Of course it won’t all be correct, because it’s new and exciting and we don’t have the ability to properly study it
    It’s like how we had no clue what a platypus was until way after it’s discovery, or how to this day we’re still learning about animals we’ve known about for a very long time.

Your assumption is that the majority of people are pro Pokémon and it’s not just one of the pro sports of that world, which is wrong, watching the show and playing the games like 95% of people don’t have Pokémon, so it can be inferred Pokémon ownership isn’t actually popular in the Pokémon world and that for every Person owning a Pokémon we see there are hundreds of thousands of people that do not, tens of thousands at the least per Pokémon owner.

    About Samurott. The last part explains why it evolves like that because in older dex entries, it said that Samurott can usually knock down its foes in one swipe. However, in the Hisuian dex entry, it says it crashes into foes like ceaseless pending waves, which implies it needs multiple hits to knock down its opponents. This would make sense because the Pokemon in Hisui are much stronger than Pokemon in other regions. It would also have to adapt to the "crashing" part, so I'm guessing that's why its head looks like that.

    Regarding Cresselia, I do remember a story from Greek Mythology where the Milky Way was created by Hera, or more specifically, Hera’s breastmilk, after Heracles bit her nipple during a feeding, and she tore him off her breast, causing the milk in his mouth to splatter out, creating the streams of the Milky Way.
    Yes. Really.

      Hera despised Heracles as a reminder of her husband's infidelity. Zeus had baby Heracles suckle on Hera while she slept, and when she awoke to see a random baby breast feeding on her, she flung it away

    • @stevef5888
      @stevef5888 Před 2 lety +23

      @@Basically_Anybody actually fun fact. It’s both. There’s more than one version of the myth. One accepted myth is Zeus putting Heracles on Hera while she sleeps, and another accepted one is Athena “finding” Heracles in the woods and giving him to Hera to nurse since she was chaste and not motherly. Depends on which era you’re in.

    Snorlax being harmful in Husui makes me think that the reason they're so docile in modern games is due to selective breeding. We know this can happen to Pokemon (Alolan Persian), so maybe trainers started breeding Snorlax who were more sleepy than others to get rid of the genes that made them greedy.
