When cameron cracked codex shredder for rift, letting lua go to combat at all is super risky if the attacks are declared and winota is on the stack, you have to either rift before they resolve or risk a grand abolisher coming down and just ending the game
yoo thats awesome that you made playlists for each commander! Sometimes I just want to see a certain commander being played before I commit to buying the cards so this is helpful!

Keeping track of things that may have had impact, Tyler casted a dispel after the rule of law had resolved and he previously had casted cic rift, ending up in Cam using his fierce guardianship, loosing it to interact later

The urza should have been exiled and presumably sent back to your command zone after Tyler died. There was no "control" effect in place (i.e. for as long as you X remains tapped, or until end of turn, or for as long as you control X), gilded Drake just says you control it, so when Tyler dies, it does not go back to you, rather it exiles.
All control changing effects are continuous effects, even if they're created by spells or activated or triggered abilities. They apply in layer 2. (613.1b) And they end when the player they're giving control to leaves the game. (800.4a)
I love the frog as a commander but everyone sees him pop off and kills him on sight in my casual games. Feels frog man

I'm not sure but I think Lua could have sacrificed the Ranger Captain on the turn when she got kiki/conscripts. That way the big cyc rift couldn't happen.
She could have kept the Captain, then search for Kiki and with the Codex's ability on the stack sac the Ranger to stop Cyclonic Rift from happening.

Lua using the sick "tap your permanents widdershins" strat, which works great with the "never draw lands" tactic.
In our playgroup we call that c rift tutor a rattlesnake effect. Maybe not exactly what a rattlesnake is, but basically "don't fuck with me" kind of effect.
That was a great game. Lua fit your playgroup really well!
LUA! I’ve never played against a Winona deck and that’s a crazy card, but once Dylan got the Tainted Pact off, I’m pretty sure that was the beginning of the end. Nice game. Very interesting for a casual player like me.

Not sure if it there was a comment earlier but ROL would have prevented Tyler's Dispel targeting Swords to Plowshare on the frog. He already cast Cyclonic earlier. I think it matters.

Fun game but a few things to keep in mind: when resolving the rhystic study triggers earlier in the game Dylan’s would have been added after Cam’s but resolved first- could matter for follow up responses.
When Tyler died Urza should have been exiled rather than going back to Cams battlefield.
I absolutely loved this game, and Lua was a treat.

Rules wise I'm fairly sure you have to declare where they're attacking as the triggers resolve

ive actually been playing mnemonic betrayal in a lot more of my decks, it adds a lot of redundancy and late game value.

I was super confused how Urza made it onto the battlefield after Tyler died.
Was is correct for cam to get Urza back when Tyler died? I thought that Urza would go into exile since Tyler died, then goes back to the command zone.

Just curious, but when Tyler cast dispel to protect his Grolnok, wouldn't that be his second spell because of rift? Not that it really matters, because that gets countered anyway.

That pyro on a dead fish was interesting. Winota, farm, and grolnok are all creature forward decks. Holding pyro blast against 3 blue opponents seems much better. This is a classic reactive move that wastes resources and offers opponents free wins. There is very little room for value plays in cedh. Plus your other two opponents might even let you counter rift ...
Wondering why Lua and Tyler did not keep T2 commader hands. These decks both rely on powering out the commander.
Back to the discussion on value plays. Seems odd to have wasted the path on grolnok when winota cheats board state through the rule of law. Also, Tyler had hermit druid in hand
Both intuition plays from Cam and Dylan were incredible. That was solid play. Going to be replaying that in my head for days.
Not to be too harsh about the pyro play, but it also counters oracle.... Great game overall. Loads of fun to watch and analyze. Keep em coming guys!
Man, this was a fast as hell game by EDH standards but it still felt agonizingly long. Cant tell if it was due to bad draws, stax or the two psych rifts.

I think had Lua not sac'd her Ranger Captain and waited for her turn she would've won. When Cam got back his Cyclonic Rift she could've Sac'd Ranger Captain at that time. Cyclonic Rift would go to his hand but he wouldn't be able to cast it. I don't see what could've ended the game in one spell with Rule of Law in play that she needed to Ranger Captain on his turn.
