I have really bad Asian glow and here are some thoughts/responses to questions posed in the comments:
1) I don't think it's unheard of for people to be noticeably tipsy after ~2 shots of vodka. I get drunk very quickly for a number of reasons, chief among which is that I'm a petite woman (like a few of the people in this video). People with Asian glow more broadly tend to have low tolerance because of genetic factors, and subsequently because few of us really drink enough to build a tolerance.
2) Asian glow isn't just getting red. I feel very warm in my face, my skin starts to itch, and I get "accelerated hangovers" - i.e. I get pounding headaches, light sensitivity, and muscle aches while I'm drinking. Again, this is why most of us don't drink enough to build a tolerance.
3) It's called Asian glow because it affects like 1 in 3 Asian people calm down.

Not all asians are affected by alcohol flush syndrome. In fact, most aren't. It's just proportionally much higher for east asian people than other people (something like 30% vs 5%).

This was actually a really cool vid, I learned a lot
The reason the testers had different reaction to it is because eof different tolerance to Histamin (which is a marker for inflammation, but also found in aged foods as wine or cheese) and to different levels of the enzyme breaking down acetaldehyde. The people that it didn't work on had higher levels of acetaldehyde in their blood and therefor had the Asian glow. For the people it worked on the reaction was more due to Histamin levels in alcohol

Some people who get asian glow don't drink much especially thoughs who skin starts to swell up. Some avoid alcohol like a black plague because they get embarrassed by it. if you take charcoal tablets after/ during a night of drinking, it absorbs all the chemicals and you wont have a hangover. I get red, hot, nauseous and the heavy feeling in my shoulders with certain alcohols. when I started taking charcoal it helped a lot.
I have a white friend who gets this every time they drink wine or cheaper spirits in the US, but not in Canada, even when they’re the same brand. I think it also has something to do with the ingredients the manufacturers are allowed to add in the ‘States.

It did seem to prevent the 'glow' part because all of them look a lot less red than usual. The other side effects may vary but it does seem to work on redness.
My face normally doesn't get red cuz I have tan skin but my mom has really light skin so she gets completely red from like a spoon of wine 😂

acetaldehyde is a product in the metabolic pathway on alcohol breakdown, the reason you still get asian glow is because acetaldehyde always follows up after consuming alcohol. I dont know much about histamines but that is a specific reaction to specific molecules. (its linked to alergies and allergic reactions) perhaps the "extreme" cases you discribe are ones where a drink was consumed containing these (like gluten in beer) that might increase the effect rather than this vodka decreasing anything.

Im hawaiian/chinese/filipino (aka part asian) my skin is on the more lightskin/caramel toned and when i drink alcohol my face gets real hot and i start to "feel good" almost lightheaded. Ive never had anyone say my face was as red as those in the video. But i never heard of the asian glow before let alone knew why i would feel hot when drinking
