How My Filipina Wife Makes Money From Raising Pigs

- My 10 Years Journey of raising pigs here in the Philippines is both fun and challenging.
Many have wondered why I still keep this dirty job even after I met my American husband. Well, I cant just give up something I worked hard for just because dollars just come easy now. To me Doing and caring for pigs is my hobby and one of my passion in life. Besides its not to have extra income incase something really bad happen to US pension, nothing is permanent in life. I have lots of losses and gains in this backyard raising but also a lot of learning. As years passes by commercial feeds have gone up crazy in price. way back 2014 The price of 50kgs of feeds was 1100 to 1200 pesos depending on the Brand, now its like 2,100 to 2200 regardless of which brand. How did I manage to still raise despite of the commercial feeds price hike? Well thank you to my two main pg. feed alternative which is Madre De Agua and Taro which is both full on nutrients that sustains Pigs diet. I also once used the coconut fruit flesh. Thats how I survived the pigs during Swine Flue which affected almost the entire world. So Even Until today I never stop growing Madre de Agua all over our property, Its more easy to use than Taro. Aside from being easy to grow and maintain ts also does not require cooking just harvest and give them to pigs fresh. As of now we have 14 fatteners 7 sows and one boar. I have my brother Noel and sister Jessa helps me takes care of it when My hand is full from the school charity, CZcams my volleyball and other farm works and obligations. To all My CZcams family that raise pigs if you want to grow fatteners it is better to have your own sow and grow fatteners from your own piglets, that will ensure the good quality and continues good growth and profit. But of course proper care and handling is also important specialy the choice of brand of feeds you use.

Madre de aqua is very wise feed. Duckweed is much better if you have a pond like where all the pig watse is diverted to.
Are you talking about Azolla? WE dont have pond. All pig waste goes to septic tank
