Magifoam is a great product,I've been messing around with different snow foams for about 12 months without being satisfied with any of them really so decided to give magifoam a go,and oh my god brilliant thick creamy foam that actually sat on my driveway for 6 hours after cleaning my car without disappearing, it gave the car a good clean streek free appearance and a really desent shine, well pleased, great video by the way.

I'm an advocate for Magifoam. In winter with a dash of Citrus Wash in it, it is easily the best I have tried.
When I gave another "fans favourote" foam a bashing, I kept getting asked what I'd recommend instead. It was always Magifoam.

Hey Dave, can I ask why you use citrus in with the Magifoam?
If my car is really dirty, I put a splash of Zero Decon in with the Magifoam.
I've found that with decent protection on the car, it's a case of foam it up, rinse it off, blow it dry and then walk away!
Full contact wash down to once a month with the drier weather now!
Hell if I'm feeling really lazy and it's just a bit dusty, I'll pop up to my local car wash.
I know the guys that run it and they change the program for me.
They give me a quick coat of TFR and then it's onto the track and through the car wash with THE ROLLERS TURNED OFF!
So I get a foam bath on top of the tfr, then a high pressure rinse, then a spray gloss rinse and then the blow dry.
Absolutely zero contact from start to finish. In and out in under 10 minutes and only £5.

I've just seen Jon at forensic detailing channel do a comparison of dry car/snow foam or pre rinse then snow foam and he had very similar results to you. Interesting video. I tend to only use foam these days when the car is either super dirty or if, like my Defender is right now, covered in dust. The thinking is that blasting it with a jet washer from dry simply drives the dust and grit into the paint and given how soft that Defender is...er..no. The foam tends to remove most of the dust gently and grit around wheel arches etc (Welsh roads are grit central). For a general weekly wash I rarely use foam these days. Horses for courses I guess.

  • @AntEloftheHouseofEl
    @AntEloftheHouseofEl Před 3 lety +1

Yay. I'm glad you finally tested it Martin! Shame it was on a protected car though.
But what I can say is that I first used the Magifoam when I got my brand new car. It arrived at the dealers 2 days before the first lockdown started in March 2020. They couldn't get it registered quickly enough so it sat on the bloody forecourt until August 2020.
Covered in dirt, birdshit- you name it, because the idiots had removed the transport wrappings.
I only used the Magifoam because it came free when I bought the lance.
But the level of cleaning you got in this video? I got that same level on my new car!
Full 500ml lance bottle coating the whole car. Left to dwell for about 20 minutes and when I rinsed it off it looked like I'd just contact washed it!
However, like you said, the price for how many uses you get out of it is really prohibitive.
I did email Autobrite to query if that instruction was right and to ask why they couldn't make a more concentrated version but i never got a response.
It was another detailer that clued me into the trick.
    A 500ml bottle gets you 2.5 washes. At £9 a bottle that's £3.50 a wash.
But the 5 litre container is £27.99. Three times more expensive, but 10 times more product!
That brings the price per wash down to £1.
Plus, I'd only use 100mls per wash myself, except in the winter months, as I never let my car get that dirty!

    • @ObsessiveCarDetailer
      @ObsessiveCarDetailer  Před 2 lety

Hi Martin, brilliant video yet again! Autobrite Magifoam is one of my go to snow foam as I discovered it cleans very well, however I think the instructions could be better on the label. I had great cleaning abilities achieved using only 60-80ml product with 920-940ml water in a lance which capable of holding 1L. And I think it’s enough to do its job well. I did wipe testing as well, beetween APC, Water jet wash and Magifoam side by side and it turned out to be Magifoam was more effective than just jet wash off the panel with water, so I think the protection you applied is a pretty good one, hence your results just using a jet wash itself. Although, I think Magifoam is still quite pricey, but I like the result it gives, alongside with an opportunity for longer dwelling time. I would be interested about your thoughts by using less amount of Magifoam in your lance like 60-80ml and the rest is water, it works well for me and in that case the price could go lower with a fair amount and would be more or less close to others on the market! I've used a few snowfoams over the years and found they do work provided you buy a decent one , Bilt Hamber is up amongst the best of them.... They'll never replace a contact wash but they're not meant to buy if you use either a good citrus prewash before it or even mix some in with the snowfoam it'll certainly shift most of the muck of your car and leave it cleaner for a contact wash .... Or clean enough over the winter to avoid a contract wash.

Didn’t realise how thick they are, so no good at all for the wheels, and I’ve only used my County Detailing pad twice and all the stitching is coming loose. @gsbut Před 3 lety +1

@@ObsessiveCarDetailer I disagree on PIR. The variation between foam lances, the dial setting on those foam lances and the flow rate of different pressure washers is massive. A fixed in bottle dilution just cannot factor that. My old lance and old K2 would flow about 15L to empty a 1L bottle on max foam thickness. Different lance and higher flow washer and I flow only 7L on max thickness. Very different strength product hitting the car if the chemical in the lance is the same measure.

still have concerns on how effective snowfoam is ,we talked about this recently.
I am half way though a can of magifoam and for me slightly better results only using it at 50ml and 450ml of water ,so quite thin and drips dirt down .
Maybe need to test with apc and foam on top and see if it holds to paint like some advise.
Only thoughts on that are ,wonder if the foam will dilute apc ?
I can see myself eventually just using a citrus only in the end , I jet wash loose grime off first with whatever I use (at the moment anyway) keep going round and round in circles over all this.

If you really aint sure about foam, get yourself a top snow foam - so Magifoam or Bilt Hamber Auto foam - get down to Wilko and buy some plastic decorating sheeting.
When your car is filthy, open up the rear door, cover it with the decorating sheet and then close it.
Foam the front door and let it dwell. Then rinse it completely off.
Next, remove the plastic sheeting and rinse that door off.
Leave them to fully dry with absolutely no contact whatsoever.
You will THEN see the difference. Clearly.
Obviously this is most apparent on a car with absolutely no protection at all if you can get your hands on one.

Hello Raphael, unlike most detailing CZcams channels I don’t buy products to review. I buy them to use so I only buy what I need. If I see a product that I think may be better than I already have then I buy it to try on the channel. At the moment I don’t see anything in the autobrite range that I feel would be an improvement to what I already have. I don’t encourage freebies and most brands don’t want to send me products to review as I give an honest opinion and throw them in the bin if they don’t do what they boast. But I will keep looking at the autobrite range in case I see a product I think could be worth having. Hope that explains my channel a bit for you. Have a great Christmas and a happy & safe new year
