  • Counter-striking after you block a kick is essential, it is a great opportunity to pierce the opponent's defense and get out of harm's way. These are the simplest, most effective counters you can execute after blocking a kick. Instruction by Patrick Fulop. Enjoy!

      Hey, thanks for your comment. The EMA system is a combination of Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo and BJJ, with a few elements of Krav Maga and Kung Fu as well. It is basically one comprehensive curriculum for all ranges of fighting. Congrats on your brown belt!

    Hey uuuhhhh... i need to know what the heck i did here
    So i got in a fight in the locker room, he went for a kick to the groin, i grabbed his leg, pulled him closer, put my arm on this throat and slammed him into the ground. I would assume this wouldnt work in a REAL fight against people with experience, but was that an appropriate move?

    • @EffectiveMartialArts
      @EffectiveMartialArts  Před 5 lety

      If it works... probably a variation of the single leg takedown. Hard to say if it was technically correct from your comment, but you should definitely practice your moves on more knowledgeable training partners, to see what the possible counters would be and how to make your attacks and defense tighter. Thanks for the comment! - Patrick

      Indeed, you can condition your shins with progressive impact training, but in general it's best to block with the outside of the leg, where you have a bit more padding. I'll expand on this in future videos. Hope this helps!
