In this video, we will talk about formal models and abstraction. One of the great achievements of human creativity has been the development of abstract representations of the world around us. Indeed this capacity for abstract thought is a characteristic of modern humans and it had much of its origins in the development of language as a way of symbolizing and communicating abstract concepts.

I am only new to systems thinking so please excuse what may be a fairly low-level question. I was thinking about individualism and collectivism. Is it possible to assess these as models from a systems perspective?
Thank you so much for your channel. I am very grateful.

I am not sure I really understand your question, but individualism and collectivism could be thought of as models for social systems as they describe a certain type of structure and dynamic to social systems.

For a moment i thought it was model theory from mathematics . This is like kindegarden level. Please dont write "formal" its sad abuse of the word.

Your comment is a sad abuse of the English language. You strike me as functionally illiterate.
