By half way through I was confident there wouldn't be any iconic moments, and I wasn't wrong. It's more a collection of highlights/lowlights from "reality" TV and gameshows from the last few years.
Dad's Army, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and Blackadder all had moments in them that actually had a cultural impact, being repeated over the decades, becoming popular with generations unborn when they were first broadcast and lines from these shows became catchphrases used in daily life even today. It's not just comedy, any list claiming to be of iconic British TV moments really should have the have the baby elephant on Blue Peter or the child presenter, Melissa Wilkes mispronouncing a certain sporting term on Our Show and chat show host Russell Harty's encounter with Grace Jones.
I'm glad you enjoyed it TJ, Bradley Walsh cracking up is always fun (he's quite prone to it.) and the entitled, arrogant and delusional nature of some of the entrants in X Factor can be entertaining in a car crash kind of way, but please don't think you've just watched "iconic" British TV. Typical of much of the last decade or so maybe, but but not iconic.

My mum's cat, a tomcat called Moggy, was on Blue Peter in 1966. He brought home 6 newborn kittens over several hours during a thunder storm. It was in local papers then the Nationals, who sent their best photographer, of mum hand feeding all 6 babies (who all survived). They sent a chauffer driven Limo for mum and kitties and paid her a fiver, a huge amount back then. We kept one of them and she lived to be 19. My mum is a kitty Goddess; the whole cat world knows who she is....lol
Would love to see it again but don't know how I would find out. They probably didn't even keep the tapes back then.

The Chasers in The Chase are notoriously savage and funny at the same time. You watched a lot of our reality tv and some quiz shows here. I’d recommend comedians like Al Murray, Lee Evans and even Jethro. Comedies… I would say Vicar of Dibley, Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers (The Germans is probably got one of the most iconic things in comedy history in it), Bottom. Our comedies will go beyond what American comedies are like and are much more dry, astute and sarcastic. Father Ted is also a good one. It’s Irish but it was produced by the BBC and filmed in London/Ireland. Soaps - Eastenders and Coronation Street are the two most popular.
