In this case, the light was on for a transmission temp sensor. It was working agiaib, so resetting the light was worth a try
Thank you! Light is off! It came on during a road trip when I added octane boost to increase gas efficiency and the catalyst converters were not happy. I did as advised and light has not returned!!!!!

You can actually touch both the cables together when the battery is disconnected and it will dump any power left in the relays

It worked and also fixed remote engine start.
I have an 05 Escalade and it didn’t work for me. I disconnected both positive and negative and did the horn method thoroughly. Check engine light remained on for me. The code it was giving me was for an evap solenoid which I just replaced like 30 minutes before doing this.

I have a 2018 yukon slt and the other day i got a power sterring message and the steering wheel was very hard to turn when car was in park and when driving it reminded me wgen vehicles did not have power steering, have you ever encountered this problem with your denali or ever heard about it? I know that for some other chevys 2015 they did a recall but some people say that the gm automaker has found some loop holes as to not wanting to do a recall for other gm vehicle issues when customers stated to have that problem. Let me know if you perhaps have a solution. Thanks
I have a 2010 Cadillac Escalade ESV 6.2L , engine light is on . I had some business check with code reader which read PO522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor circuit low voltage. ? Where is it located ? Out of respect I won’t name person that helped me . I’m 70 yo and I’m interested in learning about my favorite vehicle. I figure if I’m educated in what certain codes mean especially engine light is on , certain people won’t take advantage of a woman my age. Thank you

But why does that like keep coming on? my 2002 Tahoe my check engine light keeps coming on and the code eeps coming up saying ECM
It's coming up for a reason, so you'll have to see which code it is for more info. This is how to reset the system after a repair or just in case something was triggered.

How do I reset the radio after reconnecting the battery?
Presets? For channels? Get on station you like. Press and hold button 1 until you hear a beep. Then, move to other stations and buttons
Also, adjust the treble, midrange, and bass. Press "Audio" know. Right side.

You don't have to unplug both sides of the battery just the negative or positive just letting you know
DO IT WITH NATE Typically, only the ground works, but depending on what the light is for and which computer it’s in it could still store codes.
Sure works for most cars but it doesn’t solve the problem. Wait a few days after doing that and that engine light will come back on again.

Yes, the light came on for a reason, but if you immediately replace parts without giving them a few times to make sure they are bad, you could spend a lot of money on something that isn’t actually bad. ALSO, f you replace the parts and need to reset the light so it’s off, this is also a reason for that.
On both this Yukon and my Infiniti, the system has been reset and been fine afterwards. This is simply another tool and technique to try out.

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage ok so i replaced the harmonic balancer because it needed a new one ,
my mechanic had to take off the big tube for the freeon because it was in the way of the converter and my temperature measures dead in the middle , so a bit of freon feel out of the tube so he mentioed to put some in whatever we dropped, not that much...
....THEN few days after this happened the light engine turned on ,
so do i need to reset the light or do i have to take more steps?

Its happening to my 2015 gmc yukon denali... I change the o2 sensors 4pcs.. One of them was not working even its new and the check engine light keep on even I clear it.

That light is going to come right back on after driving if there is a hard fault code.

Yes, best for resetting a code after a repair or if it was triggered, but if there is a problem it will come back on.

Not if there is, in fact a problem. This resets codes after a repair or when the system has a minor malfunction
2015 Chevy Colorado got the codes for the evap and O2 sensor and change it out and it went off for the first hour and then it came back on Now I'm getting code four codes fjist

What's do you mean get them to work.... Adjust your driver seat to where you like it its set and then hit the number one that's the memory for one then move it to a different position hit set and hit two and that's your second position that's all there is to it
Temporary fix only especially if you have a bunch of codes then we're talking within an hour or so your check engine light will come back on.
Yes. This is most helpful after a repair to clear codes, or the occasional fault that isn’t a real problem.
My truck has a engine light for the air temp sensor, it’s in my mirrors, will this clear that code, they said it’s because I unplugged the mirrors without disconnecting the battery.
I would look for a fuse on that circuit, or unplug the battery to reset it all. This will only reset it until it comes on again. It could work if that’s all that happened but if there is now a short or problem it will continue to come on until it’s fixed

@@22_Vance_Limited No, clearing the code is only for a false trigger. There appears to be something wrong they needs to be addressed or it will continue to come on

I would look at each shock. They have a little bar that goes up and down to trigger the lift system. See if one is stuck up or down

Lashay Johnson It sounds like a battery cable (at the battery or where the cable mounts to the frame) may be loose.
Gone for now but the check engine light will come back on in just a few miles. This doesn't solve the problem
It depends on the issue. Of course it came on for a reason, but sometimes it also gets tripped and you’re fine just resetting it. Run the code when it comes on

It will come on again if the problem persists. This is a way to turn the light off to ensure it was not falsely triggered or reset the system after a repair

Replaced it along with a new plug. Check engine light went away but the abs and traction control lights remained on . They were also on before resetting. They been on about a year but other issues have came up and have just been putting that issue off. Fuel issue, rear end, lol the joys of an 07 model. Gmc 1500 slt 4x4 crew cab . Thanks for the video

You’re not thinking of all situations including after a repair and it needs to be cleared. They do trigger at times you’re fine. It’s always smart to read the codes as well and prepare for the repair

If it comes on again you’ll want to run the code to see why it came on. Most auto parts stores will do it for free

Kind of.. is there a way to erase or remove old data logs off of the flash tuners without going on the computer and downloading them? I would like to use it on my Envoy but I have stored files on there . Any ideas?
Kurtis D You may need to contact the manufacturer, but the way it typically works is the tuner stores your factory tune, you upload a new tune (one you put on the tuner from the computer), and it is now vin locked until you return yours to stock. Then you can use it for anther vehicle, but only one at a time. I believe the only way to clear the tunes it has is to remove them once it’s plugged into a computer as you say

My battery was drained once and after it was changed I noticed that my infotainment screen is kinda messed up, I can see radio presets at the lower section of the screen (grayed out) while I am in the media menu (using Bluetooth audio), do you have any idea how to fix that?

No, it will come on next time it senses there is an issue- but resetting it is sometimes all it needs. If it continues to come on, then replace what the code tells you
