It's unbelievable how on one hand Dana has done everything in his power to legitimize MMA/UFC and promote/protect its image, and on the other hand he undermines all that effort and struggle by promoting something like Power Slap...wild. In my opinion Dana should continue to focus on the growth and refinement of MMA/UFC until it reaches the level of the other major sports.

acutally there is a big misconception about cte.. cte doesnt occur due to one hard punch in the face - cte usually occurs due to multiple hits over a longer period of time. I would argue that getting hit clean 3 times at max in 1 bout is much less dangerous, that receiving 20 blows in a full 5 round mma fight and especially when your head also hits the canvas after a knockout. Look it up, thats the most dangerous part indicator for cte.

Let's think about this logically. Put aside the bad timing with Dana's own slapping incident. Put aside the lack of long-term health insurance for competitors. Put aside that someone has died after getting knocked out 4 times during a slap fight. Even without all of those things, this is still a stupid concept.
Yeah and conditioning without cardio causes all sort of heart probs and issues like tbe worst possible arthritis down the line and brittle bone issues. @@llll7396 at least in mma or boxing both of the competitors allowed to defend themselves and when they can't most of the times the ref or their corner put an end to it, power slap is just taking turn to slap someone and the one getting hit can't defend themselves immidiately (you don't see a slap being blocked here or dodged, just take it to the face)
