About 8 hours of heavy use. That is damn impressive for the size of battery it packs and 120hz on board. I'm sold.

OK hate to break it to you guys but all the "real life" battery tests for the note 20 ultra have disappointing results. Just do the math and consider everything they did wrong. 120 hz refresh rate, for a huge phone, bigger Camara sensor, and an S pen? When the s20 ultra has a 5000 mah battery and it's still terrible! It was a failure since i saw the specs. Sticking to my note 10 plus
And wait for the reports of many devices not having the copper vapor chamber and instead have graphite thermal pad making the phone really HOT. It's a huge pass for me. I'll stay with my note 10 plus
Note 20 ultra is a huge dissapointment. Can't even check the damn time cause the shit starts to drain like a mf. My s10 plus lasts me all day even with extensive use.
Hmm mine gets me through a whole day easily with about 15-20% left when I go to bed. And mine has also never gotten hot before but I don't play games or anything on it really. But hopefully samsung will push software updates to improve it
The three main battery eaters are:
1// Brightness. If you go outdoors and crank the brightness up it will lose battery quickly and that is why some YT reviewers get a lot less.
2// Hunting network. If you are on the move you do not get that stable network signal and staying in one place may give better battery.
3// Using the camera is the main killer. YT and Twitter are two of the apps that get you, high SOT. MrMobile uses more for the camera so 4-5h SOT in his video seems more realistic for those using the camera.
Battery life is very subjective and for many, the N20U will be great for a day's use, but for some maybe not. As the Note is really for hardcore users like MrMobile then the SOT may be a letdown. For me, it would be great and I would not use 120Hz so probably get even more.
I think the hunting network problem is the main reason why my note 9 battery is mediocre now, I stay in a room with poor WiFi reach, I guess I need to get a signal extender before getting the note 20 ultra because we only get the exynos model not the better snapdragon one

This is crazy . A lot of people are complaining about how bad the battery is and only reporting 4 hours of screen on time . I ordered mine 3 days ago and I was doubting to get it afterwards . I almost canceled my order lol . Thank you for the video . Great information

I have a UK model and it's crap. Turned off 5g and 120hz screen. It's still not as good as my note 10

I was thinking of getting this to take on my long bike rides where I ride for like4-5 hrs....I wonder how long the battery would last on constant recording video...and what would you suggest I use if it doesnt last enough? Since I assume you can' tbuy extra batteries.

120Hz, very heavy user, usually 5hr or so screen on time. Battery seems to drain faster below 50%, but I'm not sure if it's just me. Overall I feel great standby time and mediocre usage time (battery drains fast while using). Also, I didn't feel much difference under 60Hz mode (also FHD).
I get 8h SOT on my Note9 Exynos with my daily usage with no attempt at saving battery life at all. Also a 10min charge lasts forever so there's really np to put it on the charger while having dinner :D

You’re lucky, I’m tired of charging my exynos Note 9 twice a day everyday, and mainly I use it for social media & browsing with slight use of camera
@@constantine008 how tf has your note 9 gotten so bad? I sometimes constantly use my exynos s9+ for videos, sometimes games, social media and sometimes calls and at most I have to charge the phone 1-1.5 starting the day at ~60%

Great video Josh. I think the battery is doing quite well for its size really. Like you said as long as it lasts a full day for you, you can’t really ask for anything more than that.
I always say, if a phone can last until you get back home to throw it on a charger, does it really matter if it needs charging at 6pm, rather than 9pm? 😁👍🏻
Well, remember that battery is gonna deteriorate overtime and it's will add up.
Plugging at 6pm is gonna turn into 5pm, then 4pm, eventually you gonna have to plug it in in the middle of the day.
9 hours on 60 hz, with 25% of battery left.
I wish someone would do that breakdown too. I'm looking to update bc the battery on my old phone is getting annoying, and that note 20 ultra looks so slick but I struggle to jump at it if I can't make it passed 12 hours with moderate usage...

I'm getting 7hrs with QHD+ and 60HZ. With the 120hz I'm getting 5hrs which is not great. Snapdragon version
Hi from Dominican Republic, I have the Note10+ unplugged 6:27am and go out and comeback and I like to used harder games and all others normal thing and back to charger at 12:27am in the other day so it give me 24h and I used with the hight performance mode on, Wqhd and all on (Gps,sync,spen,) I always use my phone like I dont really care if it get discharge used if I have to or wants to gaming even is the battery is in 30 o 20.

I wanna go back to Samsung but my last Samsung 9+ the battery was shot after six months! My iPhone 11 Pro Max battery is still absolutely phenomenal after almost a year so I’m afraid to switch back. What’s a man to do??? 😁

No. I accidentally tapped it but didn't save it. You'll notice when I show resolution after it asks if I want to take off the 120hz
Guys I just bought a used note 20 ultra snapdragon variant and am getting like 4-6 hours max, should i be worried that the battery could be replaced or is this normal?
WQHD+ 5-6 hours from 100% to 15% on snapdragon with real heavy use. I don't trust these reviews of people saying they're getting 8 hours SOT, they must be running on fhd at 60hz and running power saving mode entire time.
Battery is garbage, phone is awkwardly skinny, make it thick, make the battery AT LEAST 6000mah, a note should have 7000mah and bring headphone jack back.
Trust whoever you want, but this was an honest test👍

I'm at 3 hours of sot and my battery is 48%. I am at 11 hours off charge. I don't understand this battery. I came from a N10+ and that phone would get me through the day with 60% left. 120hz uses more battery, yes, but not to the extent I'm seeing.
Chrome by itself has been active 35 minutes today and it used 14% of my battery....

You may also try always on hot spot, it drains easily, unlike my xiaomi poco f2 pro

Today, 5h34 ( 3% left ) with a very light using, all apps in sleep mode 5g disable medium brightness optimize battery mode ... and on ytb people with the exact same model like and heavy using hit 8h of sot I don't understand
I get the same results as you, i also don't understand how people get even 7 hours sot...
Using 120 hz with FHD and getting anywhere between 6-9hours SOT, usually around 7 hours, my usual habits are, 3-5 hours of CZcams or Netflix then a good 1.5 hours of gaming and rest is social media like Twitter and Facebook. This battery is killer coming from the S10+

..I have a Samsung 2019 Note 10+.. Freaking love it !! No joke,, i work two jobs . I go into my first job at Midnight, with a fully-charged phone. At 9am , i go into my second job by about 4pm my phone is on 15%..I think thats Awesome. ( And Actually , going to the store this week, to get the Note 20 Ultra.. Can't wait )
Why is the battery life vary so much from person to person?? , I get a whole day easy but don't play games ,etc. Maybe around 7/8 sot more when Bixby routines aren't running and leave wifi off (yes it makes a difference on my phone period!)
Everybody's usage is different that's why battery life of varies from person to person

i dont know guys how you reached so high SOT at 7-9 hours. I have a snapdragon version on i get 6 hours with medium brightness, 120hz and adaptive power mode. I guess i have tried almost every power saving tips but i still cant reached even 7-8 hours with with 60hz and hard power saving mode. I dont play games very much, I use camera, gps, wifi etc only when needed. I put almost all apps to sleep, turn off background data using, bixby... 6 hours its enough for me to use this phone during 1.5 day, but if its possuble to extend the battery life, then i would like to know the possible solution if someone faced with the same problem...

It appears you unknowingly selected 60hz "Standard" setting when you exited the screen display menu. Not sure if you noticed that? So this test was at the "Standard" setting.
Go back and watch a little bit closer. It looks like I did but I didn't. I know I accidentally selected that but never confirmed it so it didn't switch over👍

My usage has been 5.5 hours Max screen on time with 120hz, Optimized and adaptive battery saver. I even started doing tests like putting most of my apps in deep sleep, removing all my home widgets and even turning off 5G to see if it would get any better and it did not. After doing some online searching some people say using Smart Switch on a new device could cause battery issues, which I did use on my Note9 last week when I got the Note20 Ultra. So yesterday I did a factory reset and went into the play store and only manually downloaded the necessary apps I use on the daily and I only restored Call logs and SMS via the Samsung cloud to see if it makes a difference. As of right now I am on 83% with just over 1 hour of screen on time so I will see how it looks at the end of the day.
Any update on this? I'm having the same issues
My Note 20 ultra 512gig has been on since 2:20pm. It's now 9:54pm. 120htz SOT is now 8:47 with 47% battery left.👍

I'm on CZcams and FB all day.
1. Device care. Turn off all apps running in the background and battery saving options.
2. Im inside most of the day so I keep the brightness about 30%.
3. Keep animations down. There is a toggle and in developers settings more options.
4. I use the Optimized option.

@@Josh_Quinonez it's ridiculous. When I contact Samsung about it all they say is that Exynos undergoes the same strict tests as Snapdragon and should perform well throughout it's life cycle. But they completely ignore the fact that its way worse. All they tell you is if you feel it doesn't perform good enough, send it for repair. I did that, but the repair was aborted because they couldn't identify any problems, despite it certainly being way worse. It's just scam.

Why do People keep comparing 20 ultra to the note when the S20 ultra has a bigger battery its just what it is so we should expect better battery life . Now if it was the same battery on both with the same specs and the S 20 was getting longer battery life now I can see why we wouldn't praise the S 20

This is a full day of me not actually at work. So I can assume it will last me even longer when I'm at work not using my phone as much
Another thing to note is that the screen is adaptive so it's not always refreshing at 120hz so any movies are 24 hz or static content like Twitter or news articles can be 10hz and some videos are 30hz so you may save from that as well. Just a thought.

The battery is NOT great. I have the Snapdragon 865+ and only averaging 4 to 4.5 hours of SOT. Not sure what you're doing to get that kind of SOT.

Without intensive screen time and with 60hz + phone calls, I cannot go through a whole day and in one year the things could be even worst. Samsung must do something about that...This phone must be a beast, but for sure...something in the software makes it as a fluffy rabbit.

@@premgaru8556 I don't experience over heating issues unless I'm recording 4K video out in 115° weather. First, what is your reason for wanting to switch? To be honest with you, you're going to get pretty much the same experience just with an S-pen and slightly better processor. Oh yea, and a smaller battery. But if you have money to spend and want the best of the best then go for it👍

That was on my Note 9. No it's true. And no extra charging. Pretty much continuous use. I did everything possible like in developer's options, put animation scales down to .5 . I never raise my brightness past 30%. Put all apps to sleep except the ones I use daily. Plus a few other things. Right now on my Note 20 512gig Ultra, the last full charge was at 6:30 pm and SOT say's 7hrs 45 mins and I have 31% battery left.
My S21 ultra says 1 day 5 hours. Lol. Screw that note 20 crap 😭
